The Marauder is nothing like a rogue.

Both Sith Assassins/Jedi Shadows and Operative/Scoundrels have rogue-esque features. If you tell people what about the WoW Rogue you didn't like, they can help you figure out which class you'd hate the most.

- extreme close combat
- having to track different poisons on weapons
- gazzlion of different abilities
- complicated rotations / energy points system
- having to rely on stealth/ambush
- too many CC abilities that you have to use
- positioning (attack from behind, etc)

basically, they are hard to play. not that im a slacker, but i want to relax and have fun instead of having to strain constantly about tons of abilities/rotations

You aren't helping him at all, you're just arguing over what similarities the stealth classes have got to rogues.

My honest opinion, take a trooper tank. Is about as obvious as a glowing neon sign on dagobah for the enemy, not very stealthy at all.

Shadow/Assassin have the same "energy" resource mechanic. Though it is of course called "force" here. 100 max (modded slightly depending on spec). They also have positional attacks.
