I'd love to see Pazzak and Swoop Racing.

I think some star wars flavor minigames would spice the game up a lot.

Considering the on-rail flight missions, I feel like that kind of engine could be modified for swoop race tracks and stuff? Could possibly even have competitive swoop races.

Pazzak would give the opportunity to sell pazzak cards in the cartel shop.

This could be an awesome way to get people into Cantinas. Swoop racing pvp style without the fighting. Or Swoop racing pvp fighting dirty lol. But make it so that the swoop races are tied to cantinas like they were in KoTOR with each track on different planets offering different challenges. A backwards swoop track. One that is straight forward with no obstacles and one that has obstacles galore! Give out some great rewards for people who compete like better mounts or racing gear you can wear in game.

Same with pazzak. I don't like pazzak and wouldn't play but the gambling aspect is definitely there. Especially in a cantina setting. If you don't want people to lose much money give them the option of entering by paying and have it so that there is a big pot of credits or gear that you can get from playing.

Unfortunately the issue that would arise is that you'd have players who were so much better at it then other players that there would be complaining but it could still be competetive by making about skill and the vehicle you're riding.

I agree that the game should have more social content and these activities would round out the game. The constant killing gets tedious and repetitive after a while. There are slot machines on Nar Shadda and gambling tables all over the place such as this one:

Racing has always been a big part of the SW universe and it would be great to have a racing circuit on various planets. There should be a solo circuit for players to have fun, win credits, and get the hang of it as well as a competitive circuit where players cooperate in teams to get the best time (based on the average of everyone on the team) each day.

You're not going to find many people disagreeing with you. This subject has been covered repeatedly by numerous people in the forums over the last year. Yeah, most of us would like to see mini-games like this. Whether we ever will is unknown.

Great idea, real ingame casinos where you could spend or win credits in Casino games. Or just the social aspect of it. You could sit down and play an entirely social game vs other players. Would bring depth to the whole game experience I think.

Swoop races would also be awesome although I don't see how a meaningful race could take place with current rules. As it is it would be impossible to force another racer off the track or to slow down or something like that. But if they could solve that it would be great. Speaking of which it would also be cool to implement speeder upgrades rather than the fixed speeder settings we have today, even if these upgrades would only be usable during these races it would be a good implementation I think. Kind of like space ship upgrades.

Minigames are the simplest way to sort out a lot of problems at endgame for people like myself who don't like MMOs or endgame content in almost anything. If I loved MMOs I'd be playing Wow but I happen to love Swtor for its story, accessibility and am enjoying it despite the fact it is one. I'd be happy with loads of social crap to keep me amused at endgame. If you look at ANY pre-mmo virtual world (vzones.com, worlds.com, habbohotel.com) the one draw that keeps people playing are the daily minigames.

Well my vote for the first expansion of this is game is it includes Casino style gambling on Nar Shaddaa, Pazaak playing tables on all worlds, swoop races on all worlds and other mini games. Awesome wait to get and keep people in the game. But you never know, they could be working on it for their first major expansion.

How long do expansions normally take before release? 1-2 years? Whatever they do I hope it's grand and includes more than just kill 15 enemies, loot 12 nodes, kill 45 more enemies and loot their mother's and then fight the big boss at the end. That's gotten old. Swoop racing and other mini games needs to be added.

This seems like such an obvious thing for the swtor universe to have that it makes me hope the devs already have plans to implement them in a later expansion or patch. . They could sell skins for speeders and card packs on the cartel market and it would work wonders in breaking up the monotony of questing, variety is always a good thing, especially for an MMO. .

  • 7 months later...

So badly need paazal and swoop racing.

If gambling is the issue, just change the outcome from money to reputation rewards.

Or better still, a chance of winning a stuffed toy (read: a rare or super rare cartel item).

i totally agree with Mini-games and Swoop Racing...

Swoop Racers are a completely different monster from Speeder Bikes, i don't expect we'll see anyone using a conventional Speeder or STAP on a Swoop Track, that's like taking the family sedan and entering it into Nascar, lol...
