CarlosTrevisan
Hi, I want to make a class that really uses the blaster rifle. I love these guns design. I want to be able to do most fights using blaster rifle shots and blaster rifle skills. Ive tried low lvls scoundrel and vanguard and they gameplay just dont use the damn blaster rifle. Maybe im doing something wrong/ maybe later on i will get rotations that uses the rifle to shot people? There is any build that really USES the blaster rifle? i dont want to keep using lighning shots, knife strikes, throw blades on ppl, rifle stocks or use the rifle as a taser gun. Any build? Roxas_kun
Only classes that use blaster rifles are Trooper and Agent. They have basic proficiency in blaster rifles from the start. Of course with their advance classes, only Vanguard and Operative focus on blaster rifles. Of course the other 2 advance classes, Commando and Sniper, can use them too, but why would you want to when you have access to more class specific weapons? Next question is what role you wish to play? Vanguard is Tank/DPS, Commando is Heal/DPS, Sniper is DPS only, and Operative is Heal/DPS.
CarlosTrevisan
Sorry, ive write scoundrel when i meant Operative! The basic role of Vanguard and Operative i know. The problem is when i see the builds avaiable they lack the use of Blaster Rifle! I want play a class/spec that uses MOSTLY the blaster rifle. Not knifes or shock guns. Its prety weird that the second (or third if consider blaster pistol) weapon most iconic of Star Wars series its so unused! Most of the vanguard and Operative skills are knifes, blades, taser shots, lightning shots, and such. There isnt any build that uses blaster rifle attacks most of the time? As far im reading maybe agent/operative/letality its the one that most uses blaster rifle and skills that shots from blaster (cull, weakening blast)? CarlosTrevisan
I have an sniper engineer. Its very fun. Im lvl 38 right now. I toss granades, shot some guys, blow up the scenario, shot another guy, trhow more grenades. Very very fun Its very weird that the class that i have the most feeling that im a soldier its Imperial Agent. But they use sniper rifles. And even modding orange Blaster rifles the damage loss its huge. So until get 48 and use 10kilometer kiler ill be using the sniper rifles models. Im missing a mobile shoter class that uses blaster rifle. Thats my problem. Soldier Commando its very powerful, no doubt, but being static and using the cannon isnt for me. So i guess there isnt any blaster rifle build that really USES the blaster rifle mostly then. Sad.
Valyne
Leathality operatives use mostly their blaster rifles in fact the only time you use a melee ability is to build tactical advantage or for a filler. Gelgaroth
Then roll with a vanguard tank. You'll actually use your basic attack as vanguard tank with blaster rifle than any of the other shots that also use the blaster rifle. Because it's the easiest way to apply the threat generating dot from vanguard's tank stance. Other than that, you'll be stuck with unload (or whatever the trooper version is of that, the 3 sec channeled blaster shots) Mercs dual wield blaster pistols, and (I've only played a merc to like 21) they get rapid shots, unload, and sweeping blasters, all of which use basic blaster fire animations. And all their techy skills actually come from their back or shoulders, like missile blaster, flamethrower, rail shot, fusion missile, tracer missile, etc. They're the mirror of commandos, powertechs being the vanguard mirror. EDIT: Or you can go powertech and just have one blaster pistol. I prefer that, aesthetically, and you can tank, or dps, and then get to run around with that sweet thing known as Mako. And the bounty hunter storyline is great. But yeah, if your biggest complaint about vanguard/operative is that most of their blaster rifle skills actually shoot other things, like grenades, or volleys of mortar shells, then roll a bounty hunter. Nothing special comes out of the blaster pistols except blaster fire. Everything else is launched via wrist, shoulders, or back. cmn_ky
Not trying to sound rude; but I have no idea what you're talking about. I have a Vanguard as my main toon and have always used a blaster rifle; with autofire, and everything along those lines. I'm not sure if you're saying you don't want access to "explosive round" and "mortar volley"; plastique and items like that. But I'm DPS, using a blaster rifle under the assault specialist tree. I haven't tried the Tactics Tree yet, just because I like access to the Plastique and can usually knock out a few targets with Granade, Plastique, Explosive Round. Not sure if this helps, but try it out and let us know. I haven't gotten into my OP yet, so I can't speak for it. I know I didn't like it at the beginning because I was expecting a "sniper" and I got weak trooper...in my mind anyway. I have accepted what his is and have "embraced" the healing aspect, so I'll probably play with him some more.
OlosBC
Play sniper, go marksman, get a sniper rifle that looks kinda like a blaster rifle.
