BuFF Republic!

Imperials have damage dealers and the Republic have healers.

This, at least, seems to be the case on The Red Eclipse. That is not to say that either site have neither, but there is often a clear imbalance present. I fondly recall a recent Rep vs. Rep Void Star where both teams had so many healers and so few damage dealers that neither team were able to get past the first doors.

Bioware has about as much influence over what side we choose as I have over what you eat for breakfast.

Then why do people prever one faction over the other ?

OP, Imps on Harbinger would never win a game again. PvPers tend to like baddie factions, nothing for the devs to do. This is a player issue.

I tend to agree to this as well. People tend to play more aggressively-looking characters, I guess. People LOVE Gangstas.

It has something to do with human psychology, I tend to believe.

The only real issue is when one side edges out the other in PvP dominance, you tend to get the whole server wanting to be on the winning side. So, you have more players gravitate to that faction as a result. At least, that's my hypothesis.

Sounds reasonable to me. Everybody wants easy wins.

It's a player and community issue, not biowares. It will sort itself out when cross server ques come in though m

And cross server thingy wilkl come exactly when ?

It is in a way BW's fault. The main reason, IME, to why pubs lose is because the average pub think it's a good idea to roll sage or commando. I'm not sure why so many roll sage but commando is pretty obvious, they want to play a stormtrooper. Had there been some form of class balance, and I'm refering to what an average player can do on a class in comparison to on another class, it wouldnt have been an issue. While it may seem like more imps roll fotm classes I think it's just a matter of there not being a given "lore class", so it's more spread out, resulting in better balance.

To me, this is a slight hint towards imperial faction favouritism as well - the Empire side just had more artistic freedom.

Imperials have damage dealers and the Republic have healers.

Which fits relatively good to my theory of imperial faction players being more aggressive in general than republic faction players.

That, plus the fact that the Sage class is much more squishy, and on the imperial side, I suspect that the Sorc is more played in DD spec than in healing spec. But that's just a suspiction I hold.

I do not know of a reasonable way they can fix, and if there is one, I don't think they will do it. They already are working on space PvP and taking forever to just do class balances. Besides that, this is more of a community problem than a game problem.

I'm not sure how seriously worried they are about ranked PvP either. Seems like they dropped it in and then have not said a word about it since. "Here you go. Now shut up PvPers!"

I've got a mara and a sent on POT5. Same spec, same gear. The mara has ~20 wins, 10 losses and a ~1300 rating, the sentinel has around an ~1100 rating with roughly the same number of games played. It's definitely a different experience (or maybe I just had a bad couple nights).

Next month most diehard solo Reps pvp'res quit this game. :(

Good luck Bioware in industry game MMO business in future...

The only ay to ensure balanced solo arenas is to pull from either faction. make it truly random and that takes the faction popularity out of the equation. The Hutts are supposed to be neutral... what would be the big deal? Edited by Rhrara

Are we having this discussion again? We're having this discussion again.

More people who somehow haven't realized from the last, uh, every single mmo so far- good pvpers pick the bad guy side. Let's go through a list of MMOs where the best players picked the good guys.

-

Now let's look at the side where the good players picked the bad guys- I mean, where the creators unfairly love the evil side and purposefully sabotaged their own game cuz screw you that's why.

-every single multi faction mmo ever
