Because he has a distinct sequence of nucleotides forming part of a chromosome, the order of which determines the order of monomers in a polypeptide or nucleic acid molecule which a cell (or virus) may synthesize. Meaning he has a unit of heredity which is transferred from a parent (grand parent in this case) to offspring and is held to determine some characteristic of the offspring. The Emo didn't fall far from the tree, even though Leia didn't exhibit it (Luke sure did, as did Anakin).

So there you have it. It's in his genes.


Perhaps an overabundance of midichlorians just causes brain damage.
