Space combat missions still bugged??!!??

It is really not that confusing. There is one per day, except Sunday there is two and Monday there is none. How exactly is that confusing?

Also it is not meant to be convenient, it is meant to give you a reason to log in every day. And I for one like it. If you can't log in for 4-6minutes per day, what exactly do you need the comms for anyways?

It is on Saturday.

The issue with this is that with other dailies, theres 5-6 dailies you can do for a given area, allowing you to focus your attention on a single thing for ~1 hour. But with the space missions there is essentially 1 viable mission per day, some as short at 3 minutes, the longest like 6. So yes this makes it not that hard to do every day, but its frustrating in that you cannot really focus on concentrated space missions for a decent period of time. The day the missions first came out and I was doing the initial missions was the most fun I had had doing space missions ... ever.

Overall I would much prefer if we were able to do them all at once, or at least have options to do more than one in a row on a given day. Instead I am left logging into multiple characters for 3-5 minutes a day, leaving me in a very unsatisfied and unhappy state with respect to doing space missions. If they do not change the current setup, I forsee only doing 1-2 missions a week tops. This is hardly what was seemingly promised with the new missions.

The established system of

blah blah blah Space Mission [Weekly] (resets on Tuesdays)

seems a lot less confusing to me than

There is one per day, except Sunday there is two and Monday there is none.

Plus, as pointed out by others posters, it allows someone to complete the missions at their convenience any time throughout the week, rather than on a set schedule.

However, unlike other posters, I don't believe this is a plot to force people to log in daily. I think it is more likely an attempt to deal with the 25 mission cap, which has not been raised since launch, despite the addition of many more daily and weekly quests.

shhh 25 missions is serious business.

I suppose this is possible, but if that were the case why not just fix the number of missions. That seems like a solution that is both easier and more common sense. While I do agree the 25 cap needs to go, you're stretching here.

They don't have to stuff the missions in your quest log. Just make them available from the space mission terminal in your ship, the same as the ones that did work before the fix.

  • Tuesday - Far Cradle Strike (Imp) / Regnant Station (Rep)
  • Wednesday - Kabal Station Defense (Imp) / Ardis Outpost Fortification (Rep)
  • Thursday - Kanz Minefield (Imp) / New Covar Ice Field (Rep)
  • Friday - Duma Strike (Imp) / Baros Ambush (Rep)
  • Saturday - Lorta Escort (Imp) / Hypori Escort (Rep)
  • Sunday - Cha Raaba Assault (Imp) / Thanium Disruption (Rep)
  • Sunday - Operation Foe Smasher (Imp) / Operation Clean Sweep (Rep)

For balance, we have decided to move one of the Sunday unlocks to Monday in a future patch.

Additionally, we have confirmed that there is a bug with the Republic mission Regnant Station, and it does reward too few credits. This has been added to the Known Issues list and will also be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Thank you again for your updates and feedback in this thread.

The feedback in this thread is clearly that it makes little sense to have them structured in such an odd and inconvenient way. I would love to see this changed to have all space missions be able to be picked up in one day and reset on Tuesday, just like all of the other post-50 quests. No one wants to miss potential comms just because they didn't log in one day/forgot to pick up the quest.

If the issue truly is the quest mission limit, this is LONG overdue to be raised (and is a royal pain for all fresh 50s), especially with Makeb incoming and all the quests there that will compete with the usual 15 dailies/weeklies that I have stored in my logs.

And if this measure is supposed to prevent burnout on repetitive space missions by staggering them out, well, it's probably too late for that.

I like to keep my own schedule in this game--I log in almost every day, but there are days I won't do a single daily, or will only do some kinds. Thus far, the game's structure has supported this. This new and wholly unasked for concept does not, and I don't want any part of it. If the missions start disappearing out of my log (which they haven't, so far), I'm not going to do them--I like doing three or four in a big block.

I pretty much never post to these forums, except when the issue is something I think will cause a serious negative impact on my enjoyment of the game (and appreciation towards it as an institution, something that inclines me to keep supporting the game monetarily). This is one of those times. I'd rather have the old, bugged versions where I only got a handful of the missions to pay out but I could do them whenever I wanted, than this so-called fix.

No one is forcing you to do them.

Why did this system even get pushed out? Was there some focus group we didn't know about that complained things were just too convenient and wanted things structured into a way where no one does the missions anymore? Are you trying to get rid of the space mini-game? Does this have to do with the full quest log thing? Where's the explanation why these were changed? Are you planning on doing this for all dailies? Is this some sort of test rollout to see how it would be received by the community if you were to change all dailies?

You may not be forcing me to do these missions, but it certainly feels like I'm now being forced Not to do them :(

No one is forcing you to do them.

It would be interesting to know how many people actually do though. Given the hoops you have to jump for them plus the naff reward I suspect (though I have little evidence) that an extremely small percentage of players bother.

If so the change to the update system is unlikely to improve take up and may in fact reduce it further. Still gives an excuse to "deprioritise" space even more doesn't it?

So this would mean, if I read it correctly, that Regnant Station should have reset on Tuesday, and Hypori Escort on Saturday, the only ones I have gotten through so far. However I have been checking daily on both my 50s and neither of these have reset in over 3 weeks, yes only one week since the patch, but something is still not right.

A real fix would be making them weekly not moving the double Sunday one to Monday.

Indeed, with my schedule I play swtor on monday and thursday and that's it. With the current implementation that means I can only do one space mission a week and it will always be new cov ice field.

At least when it was bugged there were like 3 that unlocked throughout the week I could do. I would really like to do all of them though, the new space missions are really great and it would be a shame if I had to give up on the others because of scheduling.

These daily missions are really annoying. Why not make them available all on weekly reset? All the other dailies works that way. Why do differently for these?? Geez, not everyone can (or want to) log on everyday to do space missions. NOT a good move BW!

Well, apparently you can pick them up and do them later. But you must pick them up the day they are available.

On Tuesday I picked up Regnant Station (Rep) and completed it.

Wednesday I picked up Ardis Outpost Fortification (Rep). I couldn't not finish it due to that Comcast network error in my area. So I just left it in my log.

Thursday I picked up New Covar Ice Field (Rep) and completed it. Ardis Outpost Fortification (Rep) was still in my log, I made a few attempts but was to tired to complete it.

Friday I picked up Baros Ambush (Rep) and completed it. Then attempted Ardis Outpost Fortification (Rep) again an completed it. Still gave me the Operation reward and BH comms.

I received all the correct rewards each day. But I ended up completing Wednesdays mission on Friday. SO if you want to wait to do them in one day. I believe you still can, you just have to pick up the mission on that day which should be to bad. I'm sure you all are on your ship at least once a day.

Those are my findings. Give it a shot to see if it works for you.

Soooo Ms. Green, this fix does absolutely nothing but to continue to punish the casual player that can't log in everyday to at least get the mission. you people spend too much time worrying about people farming and not enough time allowing players equal access to content regardless of what day they can log in. Great example was the guy who posted he can only play on thursdays, so he gets to play new cov ice field, and thats it. If I were him and I enjoyed the space missions (which I do) I could hardly justify subscribing just to play 1/6th of the content thats available. make them weeklies that reset once a week, like every other weekly, if people don't have enough room in their mission log, they don't have to take every mission at once.

The Thank you for your feedback line with no action and no responsses to related to relevant issues are the heart of what makes people leave this game. You need to address peoples issues and communicate why they can't be solved or when they can or cannot be implemented. after awhile the "Thank you for your feedback" is really just "F' you for your feedback"

I think people get confused because they think there is a individual weekly or that they are dailys that can be aquired and done at their convienance, which is not the case. You get one daily a day, if you don't do it that day it's gone, replaced by the next day.

I think that's more a fault in how they are given to us more than anything else, with Section X / Black Hole etc the missions have [DAILY] or [WEEKLY] preceding them. The space missions should simply have [TUESDAY] [WEDNESDAY] or something to indicate they are time limited in the mission description when picking them up.

That should eliminate any confusion about how long they last for or when they are available. Just needs a minor update.

  • 3 weeks later...

As a previous poster suggested, please just set each HM space mission to a [WEEKLY]. That seems to be more convenient, wouldn't penalize anyone, and keeps the same limits on weekly attainable reward cap... but with much less confusion or room for interpretation.

I travel almost every week, and my work laptop is too underpowered to complete the missions. I have been logging in every day to collect each mission and then doing them all on weekends when at home on my gaming PC. Please don't change the mechanics of this causing some folks to miss out on 71% (5/7) of the missions after investing in the grade-7 items.

Fixing what isn't broken once again, eh?

We used to be able to stack the dailies and get them all out of the way one day a week, or simply not have to worry about missing one day every now and then which was convenient. Why change it?

Bioware seem to have a love hate relationship with these space missions. The whole reason the made them in the first place was to give people a reason to actually play that aspect of the game once they hit 50 and make the Grade 7 upgrades worth buying. But ever since they came out Bioware have been slowly nerfing them to make them less appealing. Lessening the rewards and now restricting when we can even do them? You're basically asking for the space game to be irrelevant again.

Please go back to the way it was before this recent patch and let us stack the dailies. Its just an unnecessary change that damages enjoyability and convenience and improves nothing in return.
