Guidelines for submitting examples.

• Limit the 'cant' to three sentences.
  
• Use all of the 4 categories in those sentences laid out in the lexicon above.

For now, I will limit 4 examples per member. Your example(s) will be quoted and posted on the first page below the lexicon. Per your request I will delete an example if you have already submitted 4 and replace it. I admonish you to double check and proof read your example(s).

Please color high-lite the cant words used. This is a teaching and learning tool that will not only help you and I get better at 'dealing cards' and cipher of one another's cant. But will also show others coming later how it is done.

Please limit your use of derivatives. Example; saying 'pricey' instead of 'expensive'. The word (pricey) is an acceptable alternative for the cant word (expensive). But for the sake of learning and teaching, try to stick with the base/root words found in the lexicon.

Please refrain from using real world slang. We don't all come from the same 'neck of the woods' here on earth. So to avoid misinterpretations, avoid slang. If you can't help yourself and feel that you want to use real world slang, then high-liting the CANT words is a definite must. Honestly, I would rather the cant speak for itself. But I want you guys to have fun with it too.

Cant is the jargon, argot or cryptolect of a group, often used to exclude or mislead people outside the group. 7. Q:Should I try to include Star Wars references?
   
   
   A:To quote Yoda "Try not, do". This is an inuniverse Cant, as such everything should be something that could be found in the Star Wars Universe, whether there is direct knowledge of it, or it isn't too much of a leap. Out-of-Universe (Or OUT-OF-TIMEFRAME-we don't want death star references) references that only make sense from an out-of-universe (or timeframe) standpoint should be kept to a mininum.

Couple of additions:

When a new term is suggested, we discuss like normal..... once it (or some edited version of it) gets three positive replies (I.e. 'yep, I like it') someone should repost the term and approved definity in bold and in a larger font size.

Once a terms been bolded, we move on from it.... and once we have a decient list of bolded terms, we can set up a new round of voting (using the 5 option system)

5 option voting involves asigning a number value to each term being voted on: -2, -1, 0, 1, or 2

Any term receiving a +4 or greater is accepted, anything with -4 or less is rejected, and everything inbetween is returned to the thread for furth discussion/revision, and included on a later vote.

Some words agreed on, but not yet added to the official list:

Polite: corrupt/corruptable

(In any good negotiation, it pays to be polite)

Scruffy: to go legit, noble/heroic.

No, I have it all saved. Sorry, it's been a crazy week and I haven't had as much time to go over it as I'd have liked. (It's cutting into my early access time too ) I'll get those terms added as soon as I can.
