I have played this game for a while and am looking for a new alt, the mechanics of both of these classes are very intriguing to me, I would love any personal opinions based on experience (please no spoilers)

Which AC of each are you thinking?

 

For what it's worth, I started a scoundrel and an operative at about the same time. Scoundrel I've gotten to 32 and the operative is 43. I love the mechanics and story of each but overall I think I like the operative's a tad more. I don't know if 'smoother' is the right word but the abilities seem to flow easier on on the operative with the shiv as opposed to the scattergun that the scoundrel uses. But both do feel unique for those same reasons. It's also very much a melee to mid-range AC.

 

I don't have either a sniper or gunslinger, I'm really not to crazy about ranged turret classes so I have been holding off rolling those so far. I'd prefer to be in melee, I'm comfortable in melee. From the outside looking in, there doesn't seem like there would be a whole lot of difference between the mechanics of each, aside from one using two pistols to the other with a huge sniper rifle. But again, don't take my word for it on those AC's

I loved them both. I played a gunslinger and a healing operative. I liked the play style of the gunslinger a bit better, but the storyline of the agent was my favorite. It's really a matter of preference, however, since the two AC's are dramatically different.
