I don't know if this exclusive to this community, but I do want to create a new term to describe what I see as truly uniqe behavior.

"The Chet"

Everyone remembers Chet from "Weird Science" a classic John Hughes movie about growing up and/or "man-ing up", depending on your POV. In the movie there's a character portrayed by Bill Pulman that sums up many of those in this community.

Basically, a self-centered, polemicist who finds joy in making everyone elses life or post a miserable experience. This goes beyond trolling, as trolls attempt to hijack the topic.

Chet's see themselves as self-righteous and are determined to point out that you're an idiot and either you should have read the fine print or should have know better; you will get no sympathy fro the Chet...
