TOR Visual Equipment Site: tor-fashion down, time to make something new!

Solutions for conflicting items are up!

Same name, different looks on different factions

(Example: http://violetkite.com/torista/originals/b1930.jpghttp://violetkite.com/torista/originals/a14433.jpg)

Same-name items are now also tagged with (Imp) or (Rep) in the name.

They also show a link to the "opposite" set if it is in the database on the left with a picture.

Same look, different names

(Example: http://violetkite.com/torista/originals/jediCROP1678.jpghttp://violetkite.com/torista/originals/jediCROP1678.jpg)

Same-look items are now linked together.

They still must be entered separately (because they have different item names and sometimes even different categories) BUT they now share the same image galleries. Huzzah!

Identical items are now also listed on the set page: so if you don't have the requirements to get one, you can click through them till you find one you can.

Filters update:

I think I've figured out a sweet, simple way to filter stuff, especially now that there's enough outfits to test it.

Thanks for the submissions so far! Highy appreciated!

Look forward to simple filters soon.

Random side note...

I'm trying to get the title of this thread changed, since it's no longer even true (tor-fashion is back up). I don't want to make a brand new thread (all my progress posts are here! and everyone's comments). I tried contacting customer service but they never even read my email (Ticket #7885909 "Unfortunately, we do not offer support for general game information queries." ... when I was asking something about the forums.)

I'm trying to call it,

"Swtorista - SWTOR Customized Visual Equipment Database"

If anyone knows who I can ask to do it please lemme know ^^

A simple fitler is up!

Right now it only supports Republic-Neutral-Imperial filtering but it can easily support more when I add all the clicky buttons later :p

PS ^ is just a testing layout, not where the filters will always be.

B) Creating a secondary type of database to handle guns / sabers, another to handle usable items like the life day orb, another for pets and a last one for speeders. I mean - why not! It's almost the same code.

Any plans for a companion customizations database? That is one area that is pretty weak right now. It is really hard to find good information on them.

Great idea! Yes, that can be added to the list of things that are easy to add in terms of copy-pasting code.

I'd love to see what some of the Rakghoul comp. customizations look like.. I actually have a ton for classes I haven't played yet.

Weapons, pets, speeders, usable visual items, and companion customizations.

This'll be down the road a bit though =) I'm making sure to get my filters done first. Once filters are done, and a better back-end editing system (for site mods making changes to already exisiting items) is made, the site will be basically done and just really need entries. Then I can work on coding the sub-sites.

Oh this is a great idea ( found this thread via Community Roundup which is great cos I don't have time to read every thread on the forums and don't usually pay attention to the forums cos of that :) ), I noticed the "a site to catalogue the visual looks of TOR's moddable equipment" bit though, will you also show visual looks of stuff that isn't moddable? I don't know about others but I have a cargo hold dedicated to outfits I like, a lot of stuff is bound but also bind on equip meaning that it's not just class locked but newbies can sell good clothes they aren't interested in anymore on the Galactic Trade Network marketplace/auction thingy for people that want specific stuff :)

!!!!! I didn't even know I was on the roundup until you posted this, thank you!

I was thinking originally about posting ALL gear in the entire game.. but that just became too daunting of a task =) At the moment (and likely forever) it will only be orange gear. BUT if you want to show off some outfits, you can attach pictures of user-created outfits to any set as long as they have at least one main-orange peice (head/legs/chest). Here's an example of one: http://swtorista.com/outfit?id=23

Most of my chars are still around level 20ish (I suspect this might be the average level of a lot of more casual players too, I don't know the statistics but I think that 50 people are the minority so lower level stuff would be a better way to attract/keep new people in the game :)) and the orange outfits that are available to us (mostly class/heroic mission rewards or flashpoints) are generally pretty ugly other than the standard ones that everyone knows and uses in general anyway (stuff like elegant cos it's one of the few things we can actually buy and use since so much social stuff has totally pointless level restrictions on, and the cartel market pack outfits) but some of the green drops / blue rewards from class missions and side missions can be pretty cool at times, they have their own "set names" most of them I've found, as you level you get more pieces of named sets :) I've noticed some class missions you will get parts of a set but you have to do the other side missions to get the full outfit... I'll post a couple from my stores later, but I'm mostly waiting til I get 50 to then go and take photos of everything in one go

One thing that could improve things a lot was if they added an ability to replace the visual theme of an orange item "wrapper"/"template" with the visual theme from another item - The Secret World lets you do this with their weapons (they probably would for outfits too except they very cooly make your look a totally cosmetic option so you can change your gear set ups totally separate from appearance, like City of Villains/City of Heroes) and it's a very good idea

Yes please. GW2 has a similar options - take the stats of one item and combine them with the looks of another.

Troopers will be getting some major love over the next couple days - I went through my entire inventory of orange chestpeices and started 'shotting them.

I'm in love with the filters that are up :D I can easily see all the stuff I as a trooper can wear by choosing:

Troopers got some looooveee today. Added most of my personal stash of chest pieces.

I also added a simple "Fullscreen" button - for those of us with big ol monitors.

There are now also Tooltips on the filters for if you don't know what the symbols mean.

Yesterday evening the submission page was down but it's back up now!
