Norumaniac
The Shadow is def NOT a Rogue. Like other dude said, its a lot like an Enh Shaman with stealth.
hEDshock
for me the bounty hunter is a straight druid... merc healer --> tree heals merc dps --> boomkin powertech tank --> feral bear powertech dps --> feral cat again, this is in my opinion so dont rage at me. sneezeowl
Thank you for being the only one who could give me a solid answer without a whitty reply behind it. Much appretiated! The problem is that the comparisons aren't really there. On paper a sith warrior would be very similar to a wow warrior, they both use rage, heavy armor and even share some of the same abilities like sunder armor. But as far as how it actually feels to play one it's just not the same. Rage is build with specific attacks and then you spend it on abilities, and to be frank it plays a lot more akin to how a wow rogue build and spent combo points than it does to how a wow warrior build and spend rage. So now you have a class that shares some abilities with a wow warriors but get to spend a lot of those abilities like a wow rogue would spend his finishing moves, and that is probably one of the classes with the closest comparison available. A mercenary would be one of the harder comparisons. They have abilities which have paladin/death knight traits, they have talent trees setup similar to a resto/balance druid, and mobility and attack mechanics similar to a hunter + a few channeled shots like a warlock. So they're basically a death knight/paladin/hunter/druid/warlock which in terms of ingame feel, feels like none of them at all. On top of that you have a game that's been running for so long that classes have changed a ton, and people havn't played or quit it at the same times. Take the sniper/gunslinger for instance, they're pretty stationary with long cast times, much like fire mages were when world of warcraft first released, but if you tell someone who has only played cataclysm a sniper/gunslinger is similar to a fire mage he/she'll think you're nuts. Hope it helps.
Darpo-
I'm trying to compare the classes that people didn't mention, but it's too hard, because there's many difference between them.
plsleo
why not go into a game with new eyes, read about the info you get when you start a char, and choose what you want to play from that. I have played several classes and all are at some point looking like some other class from another game, like wow, lotro and so on. If you not can look into a new game with new thinking, stay with your old game. Because this or any other game will not be as the game you just played. dargor-
I'm surprised it took so long for someone to make the trooper/paladin parallel
Elror
My advice is to stop comparing this game to WoW. sorry to dig that up, but that was too obvious... WoW End game : Raid SWTOR End game : Raid (operation) BG BG (warzone) Dungeons Dungeons (flashpoint) Arena Arena should come soon... Dailies Dailies In so much way SWTOR is just a copy/paste from WoW (or other boring MMO). Class system isnt different , the holy trinity, talent tree nearly identical, and the whole fighting system is juste the same... I know though that SWTOR have potential, story( even if once you do it to 50, its boring after), legacy, future spacial content are some of the thing that make swtor special, but for now playing such a wow copy is as boring as it was when i was playing WoW. ps, sorry for bad english.
