DBCoop
This game has gotten me really excited about Star Wars and has me wanting to read some Star Wars books. The problem is that I have absolutely nowhere to begin. Can anyone shed some insight?
Hardcore_Haas
If you go to a book store and look inside some of the newest ones they have like a catalog of time periods and books about each section. From there i guess just pick a section and start reading. I messed up and have read a couple from each and am all confused haha
brolafz
I read the first book in the Han Solo trilogy once.. It's actually pretty good, although it has nothing to do with the Old Republic ofc.

Upcoming book by Drew http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Old_Republic_(novel_series) Then after you devour the trilogy you can http://www.amazon.com/Great-books-SHOULD-AVAILABLE-KINDLE/lm/R2C57WZL44ETGB/ref=cm_lmt_DYNA_f_3_russss0?pf_rd_p=496997231&pf_rd_s=listmania-center&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=034551128X&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0XP8DE98T1BC2C0FFQ2C You can get audiobooks too if you are a Monty Python fan. Why it is so hard to get two narrators I have no clue? http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Old-Republic-Deceived/dp/B004T7CU1M/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323948109&sr=1-2 I suggest the hard copy. The font types are a very good choice.
jadedlioness
It's good to see the game getting other people hooked on the novels, I've been reading them for over a decade now and highly recommend them. The list Djabelek gave you is a good place to start. There are basically books set before each trilogy, between the films, after the original trilogy and then thousands of years before. I recently got the Jedi Path for my birthday which is basically a handbook for Jedi and has been annotated by characters as if it really was passed down from Master to Padawan. It explains a lot about the Jedi training and such which I've found really useful when playing the beta.

These are set during the time period of the game, with the exception of Revan which is 300 years earlier though events in it have a direct impact on TOR. For post RotJ Heir of the empire, dark force rising and the last command are your best bet. Chronologically there are books prior to this trilogy, but this really is a good place for someone new to the EU to get their feet wet so to speak. Rivix
If you aren't set on reading only books regarding TOR then as stated above check out the Thrawn trilogy. Absolutely amazing books and the ones that really kicked off the expanded universe.
