What Do You Think of My Character?

I've based my character on how i would like to be myself, every decision i make ingame is the exact decision i hope i would make were i in that situation. some of them are tough and hard to swallow, but necesarry.

It can actualy be a burden, especialy on my group mates in flash points, i take ages to decide what option i will choose.

But anyway here is a basic description of my character, i'm no roleplayer and never have been so excuse me if i make any errors.

I'm a sith inquisitor, specialised in assassination.

I'm a passionate person, full of emotion, good and bad. i embrace it all and love it. it empowers me.

I've taught myself everything i know, so i'm prone to making the odd mistake here and there, but by the grace of lady luck i have made it out of every tricky situation i've been in.

I don't trust anyone further than i can throw them, i have been betrayed in the passed far to many times to ever trust someone again, i may befriend someone but i will allways keep a watchful eye on them.

I do not enjoy killing, i tend to avoid it whenever possible. But i am not affraid to kill when needed.

I would NEVER kill an innocent person, ever.

I'm an honorable person, who believes in honorable combat, whenever i am sent to assassinate someone i give them the chance to defend themselves.

I absolutely despise backstabbing, lying, murder, stealing, torture and any other morale injustice.

I hate authority figures, and people who think themselves to be my "superior"..

Though i tend to avoid violence whenever possible, i am a very vengeful person, any aggressive act on me will be met in kind.

I am very short-tempered, the slightest thing can send me into an absolute rage, however when i am angry, i become incredibly powerful, able to destroy entire buildings with my finger tips, this power is only limited by how angry i get however it is not easily controlled so i cannot use it to its full potential, i am now trying to master this anger through meditation, to draw on its power without losing controll.

I strongly believe in making new allies, befriending many people, trying to get as many people at my side as possible, which leads to me sparing people often in "Kill//Spare" options, for an act of mercy, and an act of kindness often carries many rewards.

I hope that one day all the fighting, killing and the wars will stop. but i know this will never happen, for aslong as people have free will and their own opinions, there will be wars.

I care for the well-being of others, protecting the weak, defending the innocent (please excuse the cliche super-hero like quotes). I despise people who prey on the weak and the defenseless. it is wrong and should be punished.

When i am called to kill the republic or their padawans, i will do so, tho i may not enjoy killing students, they are my sworn enemy, they knew what they were getting into when they chose that path and they accepted the risks and consequences.

I'm fascinated by new technologies, new discoverys and exploration. as well as ancient civilisations and archaeological finds.

I'm an entrepreneur, allways seeking out new ways to make a fortune.

I'm hungry for power, the more i get, the more i want. immortaility is my ultimate goal and i will do anything to achieve it, anything except killing an innocent.

I desire to go down in history books, to do things that will be rememberd for a very long time.

I hope to one day change the empire for the better, but until then i must remain under the radar and not arouse suspicion.

Ok that's as far as i've got atm, whaddya think?

Is it good, bad? do you agree with any of it?

At the end of the day i'm not to fussy about what people think and i won't change anything about it, it's my character and i love it. i would just like to hear what other people think about it.

Also i'd love to read about yours, how your character reacts to certain things, how he/she makes their choices.

I think he's got some issues to work out if he's actually a Sith (the "never kills an innocent" sticks out like a sore thumb), but otherwise, looks decent.

But more importantly, this thread need to be moved to Role-Play, because this isn't really Story or Lore. :o

You seem to be downplaying the actual influence of the Dark Side on one's mind, as far as the lore goes. One can contain it, but can't fully control it without fully succumbing to it. Those who give in gain its full power. Those who don't either turn away from it, are destroyed by it, or become gradually more and more corrupt. Passion fuels the Dark Side and practising it regularly strengthens its grip on one's mind.

To avoid digging in the literature, take Yuthura Ban from KotOR, for example. Ex-slave, Force-sensitive, became Sith to gain power to free her kin, to destroy slavery. Instead, she found herself becoming the oppressor, caring less and less about those she swore to free and more about power and influence.

If you're playing a "light-side" Inquisitor, then he should adopt a measure of peace and contemplation, rising above passions to control his consciousness.

My suggestion is - if you want to play a "good" Dark-sider, you may want to either make him a little more Jedi-like (instead of slapping an amalgam of surface qualities of "good" person"), or make him darker.

Example - my Warrior, Lord Veridictus, I played as a "Sith Samurai". Devoted to his Emperor, loyal to his people, fair to the men he commands. He has honour, he has integrity, he has persistence, he has patience. But this does not make him any less of a Sith. He relishes in bloodshed, surrendering his mind to the sheer fury of the Dark Side and becoming one with it. He takes pleasure in disarming his enemies and crippling or killing them with his bare hands.

The Dark Side weighs heavily on his mind, regularly sending him visions of brutality and slaughter. Visions of him breaking, maiming, killing. Visions of martial and Force techniques that he's never seen before and that he was willing to try out. The Dark Side rewarded his dedication by unveiling to him new ways of violence.

Now, he is balancing between leaving behind all that holds him back - his loyalty, his honor, his dedication, and turning away from the Dark Side which is close to overtaking his mind, destroying the last bits of who he was.

Nice post, gave me a lot of ideas.

Your sense of honor reminds me of a mandalorian, along with your vengeful nature. i always wanted to be a mando in any star wars games i play, so good for you. I think merciful actions do carry benifits as well, but my knight will tend to kill sith, especially if i think he'll just grab his lightsaber if i let him go. also, if you do go dark side, you should probably imbrace it fully, feel its power flow through you. But, it's your charector, don't let anyone tell you different.

Sincerly,

Dragonbolt, Knight of the republic

Ok, so here are mine, in complete correspondence to yours,

I'm a sith inquisitor, specialised in sorcery

I am a cold, calculated person, only drawing upon my thirst for power and sheer determination as an emotional 'pool' of dark side energy.

I've taught myself most of what I know, but I am not beyond taking a hint from those who prove they know something useful. I never rely on luck.

I never trust anyone .Period. Those few who are close to me, are only close because I've come to know them, understand them thoroughly enough and consider their betrayal to be extremely unlikely , based on what I know about them. But I watch them too, for greediness is the bane of all of us.

Killing is done mostly when necessary, but sometimes it is enjoyable too. Not in an axe-murderer-frenzy, kind of a way, but in a disposal-of-an-annoying-fly way.

I would kill an innocent person, if something could be gained out of it.

I am a practical person, who will do whatever it takes to win, so fairness in combat isn't my style. Unless, my opponent manages to impress me and earn my respect. (for instance a clever AND open-minded jedi). In that case, I might want an honest duel...and might even spare my opponent if I win, in order for the galaxy not to lose an interesting person.

I have no problem with and can actually enjoy backstabbing, lying, murder, stealing, torture. Think of it as...artistic domination.

I don't appreciate people who think themselves superior to me, but I am willing to recognise/respect/admire power when I see it and even accept some as superior to me, if they prove that is indeed the case...for the time being.

Violence is used when it's due, but cross me and all I'll need is time..but eventually I will get back at you. Because I don't forget and I don't forgive...unless you can compensate for what you did...that might need a lot though.

I am cool-headed and even if you managed to infuriate me, you won't be able to tell,...at least before lighting strikes you.

I strongly believe in making new allies, provided they can prove themselves worthy. If they are, they are enlisted in my/the empire's ranks, without regard of their origin/background/etc. If they are not, they are purged or enslaved...

Allies are not friends, though, they are tools.

I would enjoy a time of peace to have the time to search for new knowledge in quiet, seek new civilisations in the galaxy, expand my horizons. However, since people are bound by their impulses and greedy nature there will always be bloodshed.

I only care for the well being of my inner close circle, my personal assets and the empire's assets. In that order. If you want to prey on the weak, make sure that you aren't depriving the empire (or more importantly me) of some resources by doing so...if not, I don't care.

When I am called to kill republic soldiers I just do it. When I am called to kill jedi, especially padawans, it gets really interesting. I will kill their masters in front of them (or the other way around), rub the superiority of the dark side in their sad-puppy-faces and either finish them off, or better yet corrupt them. As mentioned above though, a worthy opponent might get a free pass.

I am fascinated by new technologies, new discoveries and exploration, as well as ancient civilisations and archeaological finds.

Money is good, but it's always a means to power, not a goal in itself. Stil, wouldn't mind enough to buy a zeltron harem.

I am hungry for power, but I don't allow my desire for domination to blind my judgement. One has to be aware of their limitations (what limitations a sith might have is open for debate though)...as for immortality, to quote a certain vampire in red 'immortality is a myth'...but I am not in a hurry to see my end, just the contrary.

I desire to go down in history books, to shape the world around me and be remembered for a long, long time.

I hope the empire would change for the better, by being more open-minded in its structure and relationships with other species.
