  1. Currently I play the game on a laptop that cost less than £300 which can barely run the game on min settings, and now I'm looking to upgrade. The rig I'm looking at has the following. While I'm certain this will be an improvement over what I currently use, will it be enough to at least run the game on medium settings with a decent frame rate?
  2. There was... Issues when the game first started, and just like everything... First impressions stick. SWTOR has improved greatly since launch and has shed a lot of the bad opinions, but those impressions take time to change.
  3. Malgus is a Sith Lord, not a Jedi, he would not follow any sort of restrictions that could hinder him just for the benefit of a fair fight.
  4. Good thing about Assassin tank when leveling is you still can do a fair bit of damage. You can either take a DPS to and burn through mobs, or take a healer. If you take DPS you will have some downtime, if you take a healer you'll have none. So what you gain on faster kills, you lose on downtime. So both Healer and DPS companion are as good. Of course you'll want a healer if you want to solo heroics 2/4+. Currently burning through Hoth with a new Assassin tank build, soloing all content with ease using Talos, on DPS stance, heals still more than enough but puts out extra damage. (For some reason he seems to be more effective than Treek o_o )
  5. When SWTOR first started to reveal it's classes, each one was linked to a big screen character. Like "Pick Juggernaut and be like Vader." "Master the Dark Side like Palpatine and play as a Sorcerer" Same thing was done with Assassin and Maul, hence why most believe they are linked. Because that's how they were initially advertised. And sorry but you sort of contradicted yourself you state yourself that they are fast, nimble and agile. Now Imo nothing says fast, nimble and agile more than jumping around in combat. Yes Assassin is all about surprise attacks, using speed and agility to gain the upper hand rather than brute strength, I would consider most enemies would be surprised/caught off guard to have an opponent leap overhead to attack an undefended back. I would also argue about them not having mastery of lightsaber combat, wielding a dual-bladed lightsaber would require a significant amount of skill. I'm curious to why you believe such a skill would make them OP? With a good tank an Assassin can move about freely anyway.
  6. I'm curious, has anyone wondered why Assassin never got any combat leap abilities? Assassin is meant to be a very acrobatic melee class, so why does it lack what would be considered a vital acrobatic skill? The ability to leap overhead of an enemy during combat, landing behind for surprise attacks. I know Sith Warriors get a leap ability, but I would have thought this would have suited Assassin as well, if not more so. Assassin is meant to be in some/a lot of ways "based" on Darth Maul, who fully utilized acrobatic abilities such as leaps and kicks. So I'm confused as to why out of all melee classes, Assassin is "grounded". Was there a reason behind the lack of this? And was anyone else disappointed in the lack of leaps?
  7. I have to agree with this in part, some of the cybernetic implants are so minimal that there is barely any difference between a Human and a Cyborg. A single ear piece? Really? All characters eventually equip an earpiece, do they all suddenly become Cyborgs? Two things should happen. 1) Give all races the option to have cybernetic implants. 2) Either make Cyborgs more extensive, I.e 40-80% machine. Having to equip a mix of droid parts and armour. Or, remake the Cyborg "race" into a playable Droid character.
  8. That door is already open with Hardmode FPs etc. Actually from what I hear and see, a lot of people would prefer to be able to reply their characters story rather than start another character from scratch. If you already have a Dark Side SI for example, you probably wouldn't want to make the same character again. Yes that's an option, if you wish to play a different story. But if you wish to play the same story, this adds re-playability. You answered this yourself for a challenge. Especially when you fight Dark Lord/Grand Master such and such, and kill him/her as a level 15? Would be nice to fight these "all powerful enemies" and actually get that the second time round, an all powerful boss that truly tests you. Maybe even to the point where you need the aid of friends. Well... Two points. One, if a lvl 55 would rather go off and do this, then at the time they aren't interested in doing end-game groups. So you wouldn't be losing anyone as they wouldn't have been an option anyway. And two, if a lvl 55 is on an alt experiencing the story again because they can't on their main. They they definitely won't attend any end-game activities. Imho, most people joined/play SWTOR for the story first, and end-game content second. Because they've played KoToR and/or are SW fans. So being able to relieve the story again and again, is I'd imagine high on most fans lists.
  9. One of Bioware's/SWTOR's biggest strengths is it's ability to tell a, IMO, a well written and delivered story. So when you finish you're classes story, you lose one of those strengths until new content is added. While there is always the option to make a new character and reply it, what if you don't want to have to start from scratch? What if you want to experience the same story but with more of a challenge? I know this has been brought up a few times, but this idea is one that deserves to be repeated until it comes around. What I'd like to see is the ability to reply the story with an existing character once you hit 50-55. You would get access to Hardmode of Planetary instances, like for example a Korriban instance that has been scaled up to 50+, will all content, missions etc re-playable along with your class missions. This would not only allow players to relive the experience, but also give them a chance to try things a little different with greater challenges and greater rewards.
  10. Can both side's find a way to work together to stop the Infinite Empire? Or will one attempt to manipulate the situation and seize all?
  11. Space without rails is coming, very soon. You only have to open up the launcher to see that. Bioware is still an good company, far better than most. It's not Bioware that is at issue. This is not Sims: Star Wars Edition
  12. While I'm not an endgame Sin yet. I'm curious to how people have such issues with managing their force? Especially in a deception build in PvE. With Force Cloak and Darkswell, I nearly never have trouble keeping a rotation flowing in long drawn out fights. That's not including the benefits of Saber Conduit and other force restoring effects. The Deception tree gives plenty of talents that reduce the cost of Maul/Shock etc with the use of low costing skills.
  13. Cissatrix, my dark side Assassin :3 the Star Wars equivalent of Bellatrix Lestrange, insane and evil, yet sexy http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u242/bowersda/7b555c84-f72c-4bb7-a4f4-fc9c6679ae75.jpg
  14. Hey all Until I saw Parasitism in the madness tree, I didn't know DoT could crit, so I have some questions . Is the crit rate for Lightning Charge Discharge effect (Periodic DoT) fixed? Or is it based on your char's crit rate? And does a Periodic DoT crit proc Exploitive Strikes?
