  1. Why does EA make it so hard to send them money? Yeah I had to express my concern because this keeps happening. Been a lifer since the game came out. Then they drop me for no reason (take the money, but cut the sub) and then they did 2 more times. No explanation. No reason. And they did it again. And options: go to ea.com which doesn't work. Spend hours on the phone with some who doesn't understand that all I wanted to add was confirm a credit card. I try to post here again and after I sent more $$$ "You cannot post you are not a subscriber." So I guess I'm not posting right now. Anyone at EA? A human I mean? Cheers! P.S. In the grand scheme of things, this is hardly major...but say I just had my mom die, and my dad has dementia both had no plans in place and are broke and say this was my relief valve. So thanks EA!
  2. Hey at least you got your rewards...subber since launch here and because EA decided to cancel my recurring (my payment methods were fine) and nowhere stated in the receipt or policy that they reserve the right to cancel a recurring sub at any time, without prior or post notice.
  3. I had a recurring 180 subscription. Since my credit card was going to change, I added the new payment info way ahead of time last year to make sure. I also called/wrote and got confirmation that a recurring subscription meant recurring, not "we'll cancel and not tell you." In addition I had a valid paypal as backup payment. Guess what? They canceled my recurring (even though my billing info is good) without telling me. And when I called support to comment and confirm that I had resubbed...AGAIN...the rep said "you should get the pack tomorrow." After he took my money I said...but wait I'd like to have that in writing...per the website which I guess the rep doesn't read, no jetpack....because since launch I have not been a subscriber for a total of 5 days. LOL. Called management...same message. "Sorry you should have bought 2 recurring subscriptions." News flash..try it, you CAN'T. They offered to reprimand the rep who gave me wrong information...I don't want the poor guy on the phone who was trying to help me be reprimanded, it's not his fault, I want to actually have the website support the option to keep a recurring subscription recurring. So my suggestion? Allow recurring subscriptions to modify payment and not auto-cancel without notification. Because right now you change the payment method and everything looks fine...until you find out you miss out on a promotion because it wasn't.   4. Hey folks been a while since I played and I just came back. There's been a lot of changes and I was on the legacy tab...and I still see the field droid mailbox...but I thought the shipboard mailbox was also an option in that section. Is it on a different part of the screen? It may be staring me right in the face and I'm not seeing it. I certainly don't see the mailbox on the bridge... Thanks!
  5. LOL...my support ticket was a matter of about 10,000+ cartel coins worth of purchases vanishing. Not a peep so far. Hang in there, you're not alone.
  6. Yup I have the exact same issue. Adding insult to injury, the forums had the same 5 year old death loop bug (login, forums, try to post, get auto-logged out, login, etc...) Fixed the forum issue. But basically: All strongholds deleted. All quest decorations, all stronghold upgrades, room unlocks deleted. All keys and permissions deleted. Stronghold items are not in inventory, bank or mail system. Items and unlocks do not appear in the edit/placement menu. It's as if I've entered the stronghold for the first time but WITHOUT any of the starter freebies either. All cartel purchases deleted. This is with legacy access from being a sub before strongholds was out and during initial release. So you're not alone. I'm hoping that all the upgrades and items are sitting in some new hidden menu (much like the collections fiasco of before...however I have so far not uncovered anything in a FAQ or by searching the forums.) Custserv is also silent.
  7. If they don't show up in your Stronghold menu or in the available/unlocked decorations when in place/edit mode...were they packed up into another location? Since the expansion, all my strongholds were wiped and reset. Any help welcome! Customer support/bug forums keep logging me off whenever I try to post there (the 5 year old login->forum->try to post->logout loop of death, doesn't matter which computer, os or browser) so I'm trying here.

Me: Uh...whatever. Maybe if I can find the payments page...*waste time navigating the site* Me: Aha..found payments. Now how to change...click on payment method. SWTOR: No. Me: Now how to change...click on subscription types...no it's already selected. Maybe edit existing payment? SWTOR: No, your subscription will be canceled. Me: No I don't want to cancel, I want to change my payment method. SWTOR: You now have no payment method for your subscription. Please add one. Me: Okay I still have 2 credit cards, paypal...all I did was add a new payment method...but there isn't a button or link to select one. SWTOR: You now have no payment method for your subscription. Please add one. Me: Maybe I'll post in customer support. SWTOR: customer support forums are read only, please go to Pogo. Me: ... SWTOR: You currently have a 6 month recurring subscription and 2 payment methods. And your subscription is canceled with no payment method. You cannot select a payment method. Me: Could you say that in plain English? Or is that some sort of Imperial battle code? Okay I'm at wit's end...how the heck do you change payment methods? There's a screen that lists your subs and payment types...but not a single screen where you select one. You can click all day on the card/paypal logos but nothing happens. Or does SWTOR randomly select one of them? Right now it shows: "recurring 6 month, 2 payment methods but NONE selected." There's no button, no link, nada. I'm sure it's staring right at me but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. P.S. I'd consider using the customer phone number...but last time it took over 2 hours and that's a f*ckton of international charges, AND they couldn't answer the question. Not doing that again. Of course EA does not have an e-mail system because if it did I'd be able to login with the same account info I'm using to access My EA account here no? So I'm submitting my request for assistance to the community. Thanks folks!
  9. Okay I bought an armor set from the Cartel Market (Humble Hero). I then selected the 'unlock for all characters' option under collections and bought them again. I switch to a different character...the Collections selection has the exact same option. So you have to unlock it three times? A little confused here.

    Slicing?

    Howdy folks! Back to play after a long hiatus...I was wondering if Slicing was still a decent skill for making some credits. So far what I've seen is (gotten 4 toons to 400+ so far) Rank 1: modest loss (-20%) through occasional gain (+10%). Ranks 2-4: Break even through modest gain. (0-20%) Rank 5: Modest gain. (20%) Rank 6: Loss (-30%) Rank 9: Unknown (highest skill 430). Aside from making augments, selling TRs or slicing boxes....it seems that slicing missions do not consistently make money after Rank 5. Is this the norm or do I just have back luck with the random number generator. (Using T7 with 10k affection as a baseline).
  11. SPOILER SPACE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . Okay so you get this simple mission to help with some diplomats. What could possibly go wrong? Anyway I cleared everything (being LS couldn't let those poor civvies stay prisoner) and even cleared the named elite hiding on the balcony in the hangar. So...in one of the last rooms, there's a Champion! I hadn't had one appear like that since the one on the Endar Spire (long since removed). Anyway Tasandra is a sorcerer and a real tough cookie. Best I've managed is take her down to about half before she annihilates me. And it doesn't take much. I keep cleansing the DOTs but she's manages to slap 2 on me while cleanse is on cooldown from the last ones. That brings me to about 50% and then I've had her disappear (not sure if it's a bug) and wham I'm one-shotted for the rest of my health by thundering blast (around 2k-3k) I've popped all the cooldowns and while I'm waiting for the rez timer I'd thought I'd ask the community. I was hoping if dancing around the pillars and cargo containers works...but she's shot me around corners (force storm usually, but a blast caught me after I broke LOS, odd.) Any tips welcome and thanks! If it matters, Sage, modded gear, mostly blue on level. EDIT: I just read somewhere if you freed the NPCS they come help....um no. I cleared everything first and then went after her. No one shows up....are you supposed to free them after starting the boss fight? EDIIT: Odd this time they joined the fight. Still the game froze me for 10 seconds during mid fight so still died. Trying again.
  12. LOL. In one fight, got hit by: Knockdown, Knockback, stun, all back to back. No, not an elite. PVE. So Master Strike was not interrupted...it just never had more than one strike berfore ending. Learned my lesson, sticking to instants... Just found it funny based on the tooltip. EDIT: Just tried an elite...5 interrupts that weren't 'interrupts" in 10 seconds...impressive.
  13. Addressing the OP. Been playing since the beginning. Guardian is generally easier and far more forgiving than Sentinel. Sentinel you have be more mindful of your surroundings. Sentinel had the virtue of higher DPS in the glory days...that has been somewhat...reduced. As result, melting through PVE is a bit more difficult. Difficult, not impossible. You will experience far more downtime than your ranged counterparts. The fundamental issue of ranged versus melee has been an issue since before launch and unfortunately remains. Guardian also has the same issue, but because they have heavy armor and shielding don't suffer as badly as a Sentinel who's caught/knocked out of position. So in a nutshell, I would recommend you try both...and stick with the one you have more fun with. Cheers and happy gaming!
  14. I'm trying to like Doc...really. Okay picked him up a little while ago. Immediately started using him...and started dying, a lot. Sentinel, tried all 3 specs. Combat isn't really last that much longer, unless I use Watchman spec. I noticed in combat Doc has a tendency to heal himself. Even if I'm at 10% health and he's at 90%+. So I turned off the channeled healing. That worked a bit better. Just for kicks I switched Doc to offense and had him go against a single normal mob that he had 5 levels on. He died. I've gone back to Kira. With her at least we can burn through mobs. I don't expect a companion healer to keep my topped off, but I'm spending more time recovering after fight with Doc then I do with any other companion, including 2V-R8. I know I have to adjust my playstyle so looking for some tips. Thanks! On a side note, I used him for 3 straight levels...and ESC ed out of many conversations trying different choices...he got all of 100 affection during those 3 levels, putting him at about 4100 (*I gited him to 4k first). Went back to gifting and gave up on conversation affection gain. By comparison Kira just hit 10k.
