  1. Ok.. first, if I seam overly critical IM NOT, but the critical perspective is the one I read it from. In fact I think this may be the beginning, the very good beginning. of a true Scoundrel dps guide. I've read many of your posts this past year and you seam very knowledgeable about our class. The order of points are cronological, from start to end, with some general points and suggestions at the end: * I think you will catch heat from some of your readers for listing the different skills, I'm not one of them. I think it's awsome to have them written out in a guide. I also really like the (*) commentary you've added. I would have liked this part of the list expanded with more of your own thoughts on the skill. For instance for "Flurry of Bolts" you might describe your take on it with (guessing) "I use it when >60 energy or when I'm running toward the target/boss". * I'm a total sucker for descriptions and opinions on talent trees and their individual talents. I think this might be a personal thing for me, but I would have loved a more in depth rational from you about which and why you take certain talents. * One thing I didn't understand is under "Sucker Punch", Up from 10 before 2.0. What is up 10 from before 2.0? * Your Protips are awsome and should proliferate throughout the guide! * Your Opener/Rotation part of the guide was a bit hard to digest for me. Not sure why because it's pretty familiar language for me. One thing I can point to is that you refer to a "Normal rotation" here and there which I can't find defined in the text. What is your "Normal rotation"? I'm also contemplating whether to suggest you put a "Normal rotaion" section before the "Opener" section or not as a more general rotation startpoint. * What I miss and would like to see you write about is a practical application of your ideas from a Bossfight perspective. What I mean is ok so I've read your guide and I'm getting pumped and wanna go out there and shot things in the head with my scattergun, how does your ideas play out in a live situation. I'm thinking a section were you describe what you do and why in different stages of the fight, when do you use XS, when do you use X rotation and so on. You can perhaps think of a better exampel, but Kephess Denova would be interesting with all the different mechanics. * A general point is that I didn't get quite a sense for who you write for, is it for the total beginner, is it for hardcore endgamer? As it is now, I feel it's a bit of both. That's not a bad thing, but it would have helped me if you wrote something in the disclaimer about who you intend it for. Thanks again for taking the time, heroes step in to the light! Arcumard, TOFN
  2. Not to worry, some of us are still here and interested I'll read it tonight and give you some feedback tomorrow. In the meantime thank you for taking the time! Arcumard, TOFN
  3. Greetings fellow TOR friends and others! First of all I am a lover of TOR and have been playing since beta, I've had my down periods but here I am still. I am having great fun with all aspects of the game, thank you very much. Now, I really enjoy the introduction of dyes, it has made the game more alive and for my part helped me connect more strongly to my characters. The combinations aren't nearly as bad as some would suggest, in fact I think many combinations are really tasteful and Starwarsy. I can understand (to some extent) the restrictions placed on Loreobjects such as Jolee's such and such, but I can not understand is why I can't dye certain lowlevel orangegrade pieces such as Aspiring Knight's such and such. Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks in advance and may the Love be with you!
  4. Thx again for the informative replys friends! Ive been away for a few days so I apologize for the late awnser. I have also been trying to absorb all the new information for 2.0. I have to say that Im causiously optimistic about alot of the stuff they have in store for us and overall the changes seam to have some form of thoughtprocess attached to them. The community is also responding well to try and work out the most glaring gaps BW might have missed. That being said I think this thread needs to take a nap for now and be reawakened when 2.0 is out. It is still a worthwhile diskussion, but for now it seams sort of pointless. See you Starside! Belem
  5. Outstanding, thanks a bunch for taking your time to help me out! Hmm, perhaps my rotation/priority needs a bit of work then.. well off to find my ex then (Operations dummy) Thanks again!
  6. Thx for your replys friends! Smellmop thx for the tree and advise, Ill take your build out for a spin and Bbare thx for the clarification. Its a shame about Flash Powder, it could have been such a nice utility for us. But what about stats for PvE then? For a Scrapper, which is what Ive been playing most of my time, in a PvP environment Accuracy is useless as far as I know, but Im guessing thats not the case in Bossfights. I have only limited knowledge about PvE stat weights so I could use some advise. Here is what I am aiming for right or wrong: * Get mods and enhancements with the highest secondary stat (crit/power) for an increased overall statpool at the exspense of a little lower cunning and endurance. * Alacrity isnt that useful as far as I can see on a dps Scoundrel no matter what spec, so that has the lowest priority * Accuracy.. Im unsure about this one, Ive read that bosses in general have somewhere between 6-8% defence rating, so Im assuming its a good idea to have 6-8% accuracy. Correct? * Otherwise its the basic lineup without skillpoints, but with classbuffs: 36ish % crit (with companion affectionbonus) 75ish Surge ( with companion affectionbonus) and the rest in power Surge will be higher as I will actively avoid Alacrity. Thx again for taking the time to help out an old grissled backshooter! Belem
  7. Greetings everyone! This post will be about how to reach for the most optimal dps PvE endgame setup for Operations as a dps Scoundrel. Our Operative brothers are ofcourse more than welcome to chime in aswell. Im asking about both our dps trees here, Scrapper (Concealment) and Dirty Fighting (Lethality). Please keep the diskussion about how to do it rather than "it's impossible, reroll Sentinel". Backgroundwise: I have been playing SWTOR since beta and have mained a Jedi Guardian as a tank most of that time. I have some alts the most important once are an Operative lvl50 and now a Scoundrel lvl50. I've played PvP extensively on my Scoundrel and have had much fun and success, now I've decided it's time to try out the PvE arena aswell. I seem to be one of those people who just have to do what I'm not suppose to and after reading month after month how utterly useless a Scoundrel is dpswise I just had to try it out for myself. What I would like to ask are some fairly basic questions about Stats, Skills and trees. What stats should I aim for and why? (Cunning, Power, Accuracy, Crit, Surge and so on) Is there a difference between Scrapper and Dirty Fighting? More crit for DF to ensure regen etc? For reference I know about critrating/crit from cunning vs %, ergo I know about the DR curves and how they work (kudos to this forum for that, thx ) Which skill tree is preferable and why? I feel most at home playing Scrapper, but is that a good tree for the Operationsarena? Pros/Cons? Are hybridbuilds an option or is it always more preferable to go all the way up in one or the other? Many fights revolve around miniburstphases on the one hand which suits Scrapper, but on the other hand the lack of a take down skill like "Cold Blooded" in the DF tree should hurt Scrapper or..? On a somewhat related topic, I read that the skill Flash Powder doesn't work on Ops Bosses, is this true? If it's not true then that could be some of the utility I feel we could use as a class for Bossfights. Many thanks for your thoughts! Regards, Belem
  8. Thank you op, I /sign your initial post, thanks for having the strength to combat the supreme whininess!
  9. Hi there! - Gryning - is currently looking for new members to come join the fun! Gryning is a swedish speaking guild started by a group of friends from another MMO. Gryning was born about six months before SWTOR was first launched and has been a home to casual yet serious players ever since. We both play PvP and have a Gearing Ops aswell as a Progress Ops every week. Our player base range from completely casual to insanely hardcore and that's the way we like it, we want players of all kinds and levels to find a home in Gryning. The important thing to us is first and foremost that you as a potential member like the atmosphere of Gryning, not that you are the most awesome healer the mmo world have ever seen, not that we mind that though... I'm rambling, apologies. We of course want to hear your voice on our Mumbleserver and get to know you, but we want you to enjoy SWTOR on your terms as a member of Gryning, so you do as you please. Maybe you will find a few friends along the way, maybe we will save the galaxy together and. In Gryning everything is possible! Visit us at: http://www.gryningsskymning.se May Gryning be with you! 10. <3 my Star Wars Brothers&Sisters! I feel like I can breath again after reading in this thread a bit. The amount of complaining, kicking and screaming this community has put out so far has been quite a downer for me. To me it works like this: Positive feedback and heavily pointing out things you want and like affects lasting change much more than whining and pointing out every flaw. Doing the latter fosters an unsecurity than leads to those acting watching their every move from fear of doing something wrong. This leads to reaction rather then action which is exactly what (if I understand them correctly) the whiners don't want. The logic i simple: To make game work --> Money, To get money --> Moore people playing game, Reading only negative things on forums --> Frighten potential new Star Wars Brothers&Sisters away = Bad idea to write lots of negativity on forums. That being said, I'm all for criticism, but there are different ways to deliver it. I really like the game and I am having a blast with PVP aswell as leveling and endgame PvE. I'm for one is amazed that the 4 WZ has lasted this long for me, I can only conclude that either I'm really easy to entertain or they are really well made. I for one am more than content with the game BW has given me, despite all the whining on the forums and EA bashing them officially (not a good way to build confidence) and can't wait to see what they have in store for us. Having whiners own our forums saddens me. lets take them back! Love Lets give the forums back to the people who enjoy the game
  11. Im sorry if this has been asked and awnsered before, but I would really like to know and couln't find posts on this specific question. If the awnser is yes to my question then the idea would be to find out if a hybrid build with Force Rush/Savagery AND Blade Barrier/Sonic Barrier would make a powerfull tankbuild. Im a bit skeptical to the worth of Balde Barrier/Sonic Barrier as is, but if it were to crit.. could be fun. Thx for any thoughts
