  1. Simple solution to these problems: Remove both the broken Resolve and Bolster systems completely, then refine the brackets even more.
  2. Even better, some that a tank and healer can queue with their DPS companions, and completely leave the DerPS idling on Fleet. Yes, I play all three types of the Trinity. I think my least favorite to play is tank, due to stupid Leap Monkeys.
  3. Yeah, so instead, you'll have Sins/Shadows going in pairs like Concealment Operatives do currently. Who wants to bet during Civil War they'll drop their teleport markers behind the node buildings out of LOS, sneak around and gank the node guardians, if any help shows up they TP back to their markers and vanish. Until then, they'll "juggle" their intended target back and forth and that poor bastard won't be able to do a thing about it because they've just been stunlocked and bursted into oblivion.
  4. They upped the damage of Smash, but only if you spec into certain talents and you can only get Shockwave stacks now using the 31 point talent. Meaning Smashmonkeys lose Shockwave period if they opt to attempt to hybrid (and do stance dancing) to get Unstoppable/Unremitting, or they get Shockwave and the buffed damage from Smash. Damage or knockback immunity. It's a tough choice. I guess.

And I see nobody brought up the fact that there are many players using that program that intercepts and allows the user to directly modify calls to DirectX. Meaning easy autotargeting, maphacking, aimbotting, etc without relying on having an easily detected program attempt to inject C and Assembly code into a running .EXE. Originally developed to be used on CS and UT, WoW, Rift and Battlefield support was added, and then Warhammer, AoC and SW:TOR when it was released. Oh, and it's now also used in games like CoD: MW3, Black OPs, Black OPs 2, etc.
  6. Fastest way: Do all Heroics in a group of 4. Do Space Missions ASAP. PvP. Do all Class Quests. Get HK-51 and gear it. You will tear through content in no time. Skip Planet Quests that don't unlock Heroics. Skip Companion Quests unless unlocking companions via Class Quest.
  7. My suggestion is this: Change the items so that they are kept in the "mission items" tab instead of taking up valuable storage space in my main inventories (character/cargo hold). You were able to do it for the matrix cube (changeable item), it can surely be done for these static items.
  8. Read what he said more carefully. The goals are not PKs. There is no "official" Team Deathmatch (Ancient Hypergate being a possible exception) or Deathmatch WZs in this game. PKs are a byproduct of the attempts to achieve the goals of the WZs that actually DO win the matches for you. He even listed some examples.
  9. Au contraire. Healers can still DPS, but DPS can't heal. Tanks can still DPS, but DPS can rarely tank for more than a few seconds at best. Ergo, DPS in PvP is the least important of all three roles.
  10. I see about 22 pages went poof As far as security goes for this new system: 1) The weakest link in the entire chain is the question/answer segment. This is the weakest link in any password retrieval or account verification system, as this information can be rather easily gleaned using Google, Facebook, social engineering tricks, best guessing etc. A smart enough attacker can narrow this information down quite a bit by focusing on a particular target and paying attention to their average time spent in game, what days, what time of day, etc and then making a good guess at their regional location, especially if paired with the way particular people "speak" in forum posts. This kind of information is more valuable than most people consider. 2) Everyone should get and use a Security Key authenticator, period. I'd almost urge EA/Bioware to make them mandatory for any and all accounts. They should sell them for Cartel Coins if they have to, but more of these NEED to be applied to accounts. The physical keyfob needs to be on sale in every region this game is available, there's no excuses for it not to be (currently EU and AIPAC have issues). 3) One of the Bioware employees mentioned two-factor authentication systems. This type of system is no longer viable. Google, Apple, Microsoft, et al, all had their two-factor systems broken, and it went without detection for nearly a year in at least one case. 4) Phone/Mobile authenticators: Good idea on paper, bad idea in practice. Take a lesson from what happened to the reporter who had a 15-year old seize control of his iPhone and the associated Apple account via social engineering. Said kid then went on to take control of his Google account as well (said kid was able to get past the two-factor Google uses...because Google sends it to the mobile phone number on the account). There are more to list, but I am reserving any further comment until I see exactly how this new system pans out.
  11. Set Bonuses All set bonuses are now stored exclusively on Armoring mods instead of equipment shells. Players will now be able to transfer set bonuses shells between equipment shells by simply moving the Armoring mod. The rules are as follows: Set bonuses can be extracted from a shell by removing the Armoring mod. While Armoring mods are not applied to any items, they retain their extracted set bonus. The bonus is tied to the type of gear the mod was extracted from (Chest, Legs, Head, etc). When Armoring mods with a set bonus are placed in another item of the same type (Chest, Legs, Head, etc), the set bonus will then be transferred from the mod to the piece of armor. Modified gear with a set bonus applied will receive a notification when attempting to overwrite the Armoring mod with another Armoring mod with a set bonus. If confirmed, the new mod's set bonus will overwrite the original set bonus. From: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=600569
  12. That happens when there is s delay in the synch between the server and client determining the current positions of the two players involved. Your client still thinks that player is in one place, and when someone leaps, the game doesn't resolve the new position until after they land. If you both activated at the same time, your ability would have registered to their old position, while they were actually at their new one. It's not lag per se, it's just a desynch issue and can usually be fixed by resetting the UI quick to force the client and server to resynch. This is actually a common issue and can even happen in things like FPs and Ops when NPCs move while an instant travel like leap is being used on the NPC - you'll find yourself landing in the space the NPC used to be at. I blame it partly on the "fixes" they put in to front-load the damage/stun calculations from things like Force Leap to address the animation delays the abilities had.
  13. My personal experience on my Sorc: I get more votes as a DPS oddly enough than I ever do as Heals. Then again, as Madness I can put up silly high numbers (ditto w/healing). I have no idea why people vote how they do, other than I know friends vote for friends and guildies for guildies. I tend to vote for people that I see making a genuine effort, even if they get pewpewed quite a bit. The ones that aren't afraid to jump right in and take the heat so the team can score, etc.
  14. The MMO market seems stagnate because instead of innovating, game developers have turned to Asian-inspired grind gimmickfests designed to make you spend as much time as possible paying the game company money while providing negligible rewards. Much of the content is now geared towards Lowest Common Denominator players (read - those who are easily parted with their money, and are too lazy to put any effort into playing anything) and infused with Cash Shop money grabs. That being said, I have no opposition to Cash Shops per se, but I do object to Pay 2 Win and locking people out of non-expansion content just to make more money. Cosmetic armors, etc in shops are fine by me. Pets, etc in the shops are all fine by me. Another reason is because instead of designers with imagination (grew up on D&D, etc) and an art degree, we get designers who graduated with an MBA (and who's imagination goes no further than how big their bonus will be) who work for publishers with only the quarterly report in mind. Then there's design by committee and design by micro-management, which are failing strategies in any business, let alone when it comes to MMOs or other games, and from what I've seen and read elsewhere are becoming more common as the more nimble game companies get swallowed up by the behemoths like EA and Activision.
  15. 12000 weekly limit? I guess I got ****ed then, my cap has been at 10k for a week the entire time so far, and using one of the artifact tokens to finish out my cap this week, it only put me up to the 10k and dropped the excess from the total.
