  1. I just resubbed and I'm rather upset that this ridiculous boost is happening again without an opt-out option. I'm one of the few out there who hasn't completed all the class stories and I want to enjoy it at a normal pace, not this rushed pace 4.0 brought us. Level sync doesn't seem to do the job, it just gives this illusion that I'm somehow that level. I'm still completely OP and two shot everything. Please give us the option to turn it off. I don't think it's ridiculous to want to level the way it was originally designed.
  2. Hello! I read about this item and I'm wondering why it's not possible to have an item like this in the game permanently. I played back during launch and never got to max level. I feel like I'm just one-hitting everything because I'm always at the max scaled-down level for each planet, even with only doing story missions. Leave the accelerated XP for those who want it and let people like me level at a slower pace. I understand the reasoning for it, but I also don't see why it's impossible to let me slow my xp rate down either. The 1-50 content is amazing and I'd like to experience it somewhat close to the same pace it was at launch. I miss MMOs with a leveling process that meant something and SWTOR did this very well back in the day. I know from reading topics on this issue from 2011 up to now people are going to be upset with me. I just want the option. That's all.
  3. Currently playing Sith characters, but I'm planning on my first Republic character to be a Jedi Knight.
  4. I understand where you're coming from. Personally I'm too used to the "holy trinity" model and found GW2 to be absolutely weird and unplayable. However, in this game that's generally how a successful group operates. But, depending on how you specialize your character, you should fall into whichever role just fine. Open your mind a little bit and enjoy, SWTOR is awesome!
  5. I miss my modded auction house in the other game. The SWTOR system is very simplistic and it takes a lot of time to list a bunch of items.
  6. I play a medic operative right now and I'm using Vector as my comp. It's worked out great, he's MUCH better than Kaliyo. I have a few options when I'm taking on elites, either heal Vector and let him tank or tank myself and rely on Vector to pick up the slack when I stop to heal myself. Of course, most of this doesn't matter all that much because I'm able to interrupt most devastating abilities and minimize damage anyway. I could see how a healer would be awesome for some classes, but I know as a medic that a DPS toon suits me fine. Tank companions need some work for sure.
  7. Yes please. Why isn't this in the suggestion forum? D:
  8. Waiting for my new job to call me in to do paperwork and give me a schedule for the rest of the week. Otherwise I just cleaned up the kitchen from brunch and I'm getting ready to log into SWTOR.
  9. Ten bucks for what they gave us was appropriate. If you haven't played any other MMOs with expansions I guess I can see why you think that this wasn't "worth it." However, for the dev time, effort and amount of total content involved, ten bucks makes sense. Do I wish they added a bit more? Yes, and I would have payed more for it. Once 2.0.1 goes live a lot of the bugs that people are whining about will be fixed too. Just like any other game. lol
  10. In regards to why you don't loot in combat, the reason why is that it can be distracting and easy for people to click the wrong button when they're trying to focus on something else. It's much better to loot AFTER combat when everyone is paying attention and can determine more easily if they need the item. It's easy to think that cunning gear is strength gear if you're not paying enough attention. This avoids ridiculous loot drama. To the OP -- I agree, to me it is incredibly annoying especially when I'm killing weak stuff to have someone come up and "help" me. To go along with this, I don't like when people send random group invites. I'm not sure how it works in SWTOR but in other MMOs I've played it's hindered my XP to group with someone else to do non-group quests. Now I know the trend on that is changing but SWTOR kinda stayed with an older model, so I'm not sure. I just find it silly to get help with incredibly easy kills. I've never told anyone to stop, mainly because they don't follow me around, but I guess I prefer to just get these simple quests done at my own pace. MMOs are MMOs but that's just a pet peeve of mine. Unless it looks like I need help, I probably don't need it. Might sound silly to some, but that's just how I've always felt about it.
  11. Watch out for the extremely annoying double click issue. Eventually wear and tear will make the Naga double click instead of single click most of the time which makes basic tasks extremely annoying. Keep that reciept and register it so if it happens under warranty they can replace it. Otherwise enjoy, I personally love mine to death besides the double click problem.
  12. Tanks and healers will always get blamed. It's just part of the job description. You end up taking responsibility for 99.9% of the group's success. It's not really true, but the DPS will beg to differ.
  13. Money sinks in MMOs are a necessary evil. That's why we have a bunch of different speeders, out-of-combat pets and pretty adaptable gear sets. Oh, and a fee to take out mods from gear. If you're new to the concept it is a bit odd but considering credits come rather easy it only makes sense that there are random money sinks along the way.
  14. Every raid/operation team I've ever been a part of always encouraged its members to read up on the encounters before we stepped foot inside. I led groups like this too and found the whole experience less frustrating when people knew the basic mechanics. I can agree, however, that this takes away from that feeling of "what's gonna happen next." I've found too that once you master one area and its bosses that it's not hard to quickly pick up on what new content is throwing at you. Obviously some group out there that's posting the strategies had to figure it out first! I usually go into most group encounters blind unless I really feel like I need to be prepared. After playing MMOs for so long though I generally pick up on most fights quickly and don't cause too many issues. I don't think its appropriate to yell at people in flashpoints or warzones as these things are more casual and can be queued for with relative ease. It doesn't take long to explain basic mechanics to someone that may not know. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.
