  1. I don't hate SWTOR, the lower levels are a lot of fun at first. The game just gets very boring, very quickly. And the space rail game is a joke.
  2. If it isn't a multiplayer version of X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, then it will fail. PvP, PvE and missions. Space exploration, asteroid mining, etc are also important. I doubt they have the foresight to do that though. I expect more of the same, which is all very lame, I will not be renewing my sub. I won't be playing F2P btw, I don't play now and I still have sub time left. A decent space game is the only thing that could bring me back, and I would gladly pay a sub for it.
  3. Multiplayer X-Wing vs Tie figher (PvP and PvE), then I resub. But if it's more of the same... nobody will care.
  4. Yep, a little late, and not sure how challenging it is, but new content is good. And they have to keep it coming.
  5. I'm not a fan of calling "hardmode", new content. It's just a cheesy way of regurgitating something the player has done before. I'm not against hardmode as a gameplay element, but it should never be considered new content. Repeating dailies and content you have done before, is boring. To keep the game alive and thriving, they need more variety, and new, challenging content that only level 50's can do.
  6. Hah.. yeah those were strange days. I remember a hacker getting on and spouting world messages accross everyone's screeen. But the Rift Devs were very open and very professional about it. And they addressed those issues in a way that the community applauded. I really like the way they dealt with the inevitable server population declines every mmo (except WoW) goes through. They just up and offered free transfers to everyone, once a week, to the server of your choice. And you can still do that. Very cool. And they offered those very soon after they were needed.
  7. Actually, someone else posted about Naxxramas. I'm not much of a WoW fan. Only played it a couple months. But as a rebuttal to your point, just look at Rift. I did play Rift for almost a year. Right out of the gate Rift had much more raid content and endgame content than SWTOR. They are also doing very well. And they release new content all the time. Rift is a new game that succeeded because they understand that mmo players don't want excuses, they want results.
  8. The servers were full, but even those new "full" servers are continuing to lose players. I don't care about WoW numbers. Success for SWTOR is a stable playerbase that can pay for expanded content and the LucasArts license fee. No matter what you want to believe, the playerbase is still declining. The LucasArts license fee is very substantial. None of us know the exact number, but anyone that has followed this game, knows it to be a major overhead addition to their bottom line.
  9. You don't like the truth... got it. Take your blinders off son. SWTOR's endgame is bad, the sooner the devs acknowledge that and fix it, the sooner they can stop some of the bleeding. Of course, that isn't the only problem with SWTOR, but fixing it requres the least resources and gets the most bang for the buck. And btw, I have you beat in age... and mmo pedigree (muds). I'll just leave it at that.
  10. You really need to step back and look at what people are saying. Here in the forums and with their wallets. SWTOR is failing badly. And part of the reason for that is because the devs wear the same blinders you do. Noone here wants SWTOR to fail. They are telling the devs what is wrong with their product. But if the devs continue to wear the same blinders you do, then this game will continue to fail. More people are leaving this game every day. Is that what you want?
  11. GW2 is very, very good. But it won't stop me from playing other games. I played a lot of GW1 and still maintained subs in other games. But there has to be a reason to pay that sub. Sadly, SWTOR isn't ready for my sub money. And with all the new F2P games around, it's hard for any mmo to get my sub. Still, I am open to coming back to SWTOR if they make a better endgame, one that is fun and has variety. And if they ever put in real space combat, I'll definately be back to check it out. If it is as good as X-Wing / Tie Fighter, then I'll stay for a while.
  12. Almost everyone's endgame is more fun than SWTOR's. EQ, EQ2, WoW, AoC, etc, etc,, all of them have a more interesting endgame that has variety and depth. SWTOR's endgame sucks and you know it. The same boring dailies over and over and a couple flashpoints. None of which are that challenging or fun. Besides that there is nothing else to do. Crafting is pointless, minigames are nonexistant, world PvP is a joke. etc etc.
  13. Endgame content is the biggest issue. There are lots of other problems with the game, but the lack of an endgaging endgame is the biggest problem for maintaining subs. Making alts is fine, i'm an altaholic and even that isn't enough for me. Players need something fun and challenging to do when they get to fifty. Dalies get boring very quickly. My suggestion is to release a very challenging planet that cannot be done solo. Put world mobs in hard to reach places that require well geared groups, and raid forces, to take down. Put the best gear on them. Give people a challenge and a reward for their risk. Make the hardest bosses almost impossible to beat (remember the Sleeper?). And obviously world PvP needs work.
  14. Travel in this game is VERY cumbersome and boring. Having just played the GW2 beta weekend, it is even more glaring how ulgy it is to get around in SWTOR. GW2 has waypoints you can travel to anywhere in the game, as long as you have discovered them already. They cost a small fee depending on the distance, and can be accessed from anywhere by using your map. Something similar in SWTOR would go a long ways towards making this game more fun to play. Multiple load screens is bad design.
  15. SWTOR didn't fail because of the Hero Engine. It failed because the gameplay design is very poor. I don't understand the lemming push to blame the Hero Engine for all of SWTOR's failings. If the Devs had created a fun game then the same lemmings would be praising the engine. The Hero Engine is just a canvas the Devs use to illustrate their designs. The design sucked, not the canvas.
