  1. Well I guess it depends. If it costs cartel coins I have little problem since subs get CCs every month. But I wouldn't want to buy a box that only has one planet. Either way if it's not a given for subs and only one planet it would have be be a great long planet with an awesome story (and with class stories of course). SO yeah I guess depending on what they do it could either be ok or outright awesome. Even if we do pay CCs subs will still have it pretty good and could probably get the content without paying beyond the sub.
  2. I'm willing to bet it will cost roughly as much as paying Cartel Coins for other race unlocks (Which isn't all that much if memory serves). This implies it may also be purchasable by legacy for credits. That being said subs DO get monthly CC stipends so in the end you could easily buy Cathar without spending a dime outside of the sub (Which in essence is what pays for new content). I'd be more concerned whether the new planet they've announced will be considered an expansion and/or if we will be charge/cartel coined for it. It would have to be a pretty good planet for me to want to have to pay outside a sub for it.
  3. Does this mean subs with 12 or fewer characters in a server will be able to buy additional character slots? If so this interests and excites me.
  4. Oh I welcome F2Pers with open arms (especially on an RP server where end game content is slightly less important). I will however continue to openly mock those who complain about the restrictions on F2P. But for those who play the game for the love of the game (free or sub) welcome to our community!
  5. You realize of course that in the end everything is the game is in essence intangible. That being said I enjoy my intangible items very much. Haven't bought cartel coins but as a sub I also get a chunk of them every month. It's all about being patient for me.
  6. Actually what I would LOVE is the ability to get cross class companions even if it was just one per character. Like maybe add a quest and at the end you get a choice say Elara Dorne, Bowdaar, T7-01, or Qyzen. Then something similar on the imp side. Probably wouldn't happen but it would be cool.
  7. Couple points of order: When characters hit 50 they are now able to get Recruit MK II gear for free. You pick it up at the pvp terminal (Quest Name: New technology) and turn it in at the dropbox RIGHT next to it. It gives you everything implants, ears, relics, weapons, offhands, and armor. The text for the rewards will even say which role each is for. The MK II recruit gear is perfectly adequate for Hard Mode flashpoints and I've even healed a fresh tank in gear slightly worse and still done fine. So free or sub you get a free set of entry gear which, though blue, does fine as HM entry gear. That being said I have leveled every AC or their faction counterparts sans Shadow/Assassin (Sentinel, Sage, Scoundrel, Vanguard, Juggernaut, Sniper, and Mercenary). I am willing to bet you could easily put all essential abilities on those two hot bars. The one I had the most difficulty with was my Sniper and that was mostly because I was very lazy and sloppy with organizing those. My two side bars usually hold non-combat stuff (buffs, QT, Fleet Pass, Speeder etc) I even turned the two extra they gave subs off because I had nothing I really needed in them as it was. More than the free 2 are not needed (Although having the sub ones is very nice/helpful so one doesn't have to open their abilities just to QT)
  8. I think it's pretty fair. I can't think of anything they charge cartel coins for that is actually needed to reach 50. Only having 2 actions bars is probably the MOST limiting thing but heck the stuff I have on my extra bars aren't combat related like buffs, fleet pass, QT, mounts etc. Heck most of the subs did fine before they could unify colors XD
  9. I'm fairly certain when I checked the perk is said Cartel Tokens -OR- 1000000 Credits. You CAN use the tokens to buy it but you should be able to use credits as well.
  10. Once you do the quest once you get the global unlock BUT what the global unlock does is unlock the perk (which must be purchased on each character for 1 mill creds or Cartel Coins). So really after the first time the big thing to askk yourself is when do you want HK in your leveling and if 50 would you rather pay 1 million or do the quest chain again.
  11. I would like: 1. More character slots (Bit of an altaholic) 2. Some sort of cosmetic/salon/change your look. 3. Race change (Only for valid race choices based on your class and/or unlocks) 4. A Republic equivalent to the throne chair (Maybe something like a jedi meditation chair such as Yoda's from episode 3) 5. Unlocks to either change which ship you have or recolor your ship in some way. 6. Tauntaun mount and/or Veractyl mount 7. Housing/Housing phases 8. ^Decor for said house and/or ship 9. Color Crystals (different colors, more colors, ones that carry special effects on them) 10. Possibly something like guild points that can be put towards guild unlocks (Like say guild starships) this is just an idea though and I can see a number of problems that the idea could cause if not properly implemented.
  12. Actually if you did just your dailies you could easily get to 1 million in 3 days (maybe 4 if you don't do EVERY planet for your dailies). So if you really want an HK-51 it is much easier to grind out the credits (I'd much rather do that than scan Endar Spire and Ambria's Fury again) and you can easily supplement that with profession and GTN sales. As for HK-51 being naked pre 50 it isn't all that hard to gear him. Whenever you get companion gear as a quest reward there's always a piece of droid gear (meant for C2 and 2V and the other droids) that can also be put on HK or if lucky enough to be a cybertech you could easily gear him as you go keeping your profession leveled at the same time. Slightly annoying yes but sometimes you just need something to delete organic meatbags =)
  13. Sad thing is I bet if any other MMO went from sub only to a F2P/sub model the same exact thing would happen. People with past and existing subs who did not cancel are the ones who, yes are fanboys, (I'm not afraid to say it I LOVE Star Wars and TOR warts and all) are the ones who have had and continue to have faith in this game. So yes you will have to either sub or pay to get all the stuff we have continued to pay for. This is also ignoring the fact that THIS is why gave us cartel coins for purchases of the game (CE got a respectable chunk more) and for each month subbed. Players who canceled are meant to repurchase basics of the game such as cargo hold access and those loyal fanboys get to use their coins (and all their future coins) to buy the fun little toys that make things like RP fun. Fanboys have kept this game afloat. Fanboys are the ones who have invested money (and will continue to). Really if you feel you've been treated unfair by being forced to pay/resub then don't but that's the difference between loyal fanboys and fairweather fans. If you find a game you love and want to be a fanboy for great play it power to ya but there's no rule that people need to have a game or mmo to play. <Star Wars Fanboy and proud.
  14. So I bought the Outlaw's Armor set from the cartel market for my consular. I'm admiring it (Because I've always wanted something like it for him) and I notice there's a symbol on the right shoulder. At first I dismiss it as some doodad but the more I looked at the more it seemed familiar. After a while it strikes me that it looks almost like the symbol for the Chiss Ascendancy. So I have two questions: 1. Was that meant to be the Chiss Ascendancy symbol? and slightly less relevantly 2. Are there any plans to introduce race changes in the future? (Because I would now REALLY love to change my Zabrak Consular into a Chiss without having to reroll and lose all his hard earned goodies )
  15. So here has been my experience with the HK storyline: 1. Group with guildies follow questline to thr end of theoretika. 2. Go to work (Real life sucks) 3. COme back with 1/2 an hour before maintenance. 4. Go to outlaws den get ganked by 10 imps (What sadist made that decision?) 5. Go to imp alt go to outlaws den and get the item. 6. Maintenance 7. Decide to be a night owl and start searching the endar spire. Find piece over an hour later (think to myself "frustrating but maybe I'm just unlucky") 8. Thankfully manage to group with two others and we knock out the coruscant one and one of the group drops (No problem still got a searching buddy) 9. Search Ambria's Fury for what seems like forever non grouped person finds it. Groupmate gets it but I do not as I am on the other side of the wreckage and do not get there in time (Frustration levels rising but God Bless my partner who stays to help me find it). After about another 1/2 hour of searching call it a night (Still didn't find the Ambria's Fury piece). All I can think of having reached this point is what an annoying and massive waste of time it has been for something which has it's premise based on such a simple thing. I believe Fez Burba made that scanner because it SUCKS! And the worst part is that, even though I think whomever deigned this is a complete and utter sadist laughing at me from across the internet, I'm still going to go back tomorrow and keep searching for that worthless piece of trash on hoth. That being said making the method of getting something annoying/long does not make it special, Bioware.
