I may consider this, and just play around until lvl 20 on a few different classes. It's good advice. Yep, the answers aren't too different. Thanks for your advice here, and on reddit. I think the problem is that I've been skipping huge chunks of planet quests, because at lower levels I was about 4-5 levels ahead of the planets that I was on (see CrazedMike's Leveling guide). I guess now, I'll have to work harder on gearing myself and my companion. I agree, but my brother (sniper) does a good job at soloing bosses, by using his companion as a tank. ----------------------------- Thanks for the advice guys. Woops, I am using Flameburst. I meant to write flameburst instead of Incendiary Missile. I use Flameburst to activate the CGC on my Rapidshots, which makes Rapidshots very potent.

I'm pulling my hair out. Early game (mid-20s) was fun. I absolutely slaughtered in pvp and often got top damage, but now I can't seem to do anything. I die all the time, and rarely get any kills. I'm level 35, and having a mid-game crisis. My brother (sniper/dps) destroys everything, and he's a level below me. He slaughtered this boss, and had full health for his companion and toon, at the end of it. I tried the exactly same boss, and my companion and I both died, while the boss was at half health. I've geared up as well as I could, and I know my rotations (from reading this forum many times); has this happened to anyone else? What should I do? I'm seriously considering giving up, and beginning a new toon (either sniper or assassin).

This. I had no trouble leaving a trail of dead bodies, until I got to about level 30ish. Then for some reason, I just got slaughtered in warzones, and pve. The only thing I was good at was teamed flashpoints, and now I'm not so sure. I find that it's a good class to play early on (top damage during my mid-20s), but mid level, is really underpowered, for some reason. I've played Runescape before, and no. I've made a few characters (Sith Marauder, Sith Inq, Merc, Jedi Consular, Smuggler) and leveled them up to level 15. I have asked him for advice, but he just tells me that he is playing a better class for DPS. And yes, I have perused the powertech section, many many many times. Reading pt guides are what convinced me to delete my merc, and go over to pt pyro. I'll try and grin and bear it. Thanks for your advice.

That makes two of us. Mako. And she's struggling to keep up. I'll die, even though she's on medwatch, constantly healing me. Yes, and remorselessly upgrading it. I am using interrupt, and stun, yes. Special Attacks: Rocketpunch, Railshot, Incendiary Missile Base attack (generates almost no heat): Incendiary Missile > Rapid Shots (Combustible Gas Cylinder does extra elemental damage)

I play as a level 35 Pyro, and my brother is a Sniper. We fight the same thing, and my companion and I die all the time, with the boss at half health. When he fights this, he kills it, with both his companion and his toon almost at full health. It's frustrating for me to use this class, I am absolutely getting obliterated. I even tried both the tanking tree, and the pyro tree; but to no avail! I get slaughtered! ------------- I'm considering either going with a Sniper, or an Assassin DPS or Assassin Tank. My questions are: Should I force myself to play this class to level 50, or should I roll an alt. And which alt should I roll?
