  1. Legacy has been truly an often advertised feature, but with absolute no detail. I love making characters, but with the limited number of classes I do not want to make/level them all now and find out through legacy there are numerous bonuses such as added weapons or races. Does legacy benefit leveled characters or only freshly created ones?
  2. I'm just wondering if anyone is having issues with hard crashing while in the game. Such as distorted/stripped/fragmented screen after a few minutes of play at odd times. That freezes the game up and requires me to manually reset it. It is almost making my game unplayable. I don't know what to do about it. I'm using an iMac windows 7 and i just reinstalled the game, which did nothing for me. I'm contemplating going back to Vista to see if that works better. I had NO issues of these kind during beta, but this only started after the first patch was implemented in live.
  3. What makes the classes unique aren't the sabers, its their abilities and how they use them. A guardian using a different style saber doesn't automatically grant him all the shadow skills, he keeps the same stuff it's just a different kind of saber. I don't see how it ruins it. The whole "well just pick that class if you prefer that weapon" argument doesn't apply here because I love to tank and i love heavy armor. I'm not much of a pure robe guy. With that being said that eliminates being able to dual wield because that simply isn't tanking at all. If i go double sided now im using a completely different mechanic (force power, which im not that big on) and im stuck wearing the robes. Not to mention 99% of the game is already inquisitor/consulars already and we really don't need more of those (at least not on my sith and republic servers) it's purely for looks and customization. They could make it like social armor if they wanted.
  4. If you need to enable it through Legacy. Allow us to purchase weapon proficiencies through it, it could apply to other classes as well. Allow Bounty Hunters to use idk....ALL the weapons they should already have access too, Carbines, Rifles, you could even argue Assault Cannon. The real culprit here is Trooper class. Why can't a member, not just a member, but the CO of (quoting from the story itself minor spoiler***) THE BEST spec op division in the entire republic fleet use any type of artillery that is in the game currently? Each cutscene shows a trooper using a pistol, why can't they equip one? I know they wouldn't choose it over a blaster rifle, but how bout that skill "stormstrike" where you hit with the butt of your rifle...why not just pull out a pistrol and shoot the enemy point blank? Why can't a vanguard use an assault cannon? While everyone military boss you fight (the definition of tank) use one? What I don't understand is they say the vanguard and the powertech use the most advance armor available, but their counterparts gain access to the same stuff, shields aside. I'm talking more on an aesthetic base. I just don't see why we don't have more choice on our style of weapons. This game is founded on the idea of customization and YOUR story/character, yet my story and character have so many walls put up. It wouldn't even conflict with loot given the fact you can change mods and whatnot out to make stuff more defense or offense oriented. Again incorporate it through the legacy system, it definitely would make it more appealing. I love getting sniper rifle rewards on Republic side given the fact no one can use it on our entire faction...just doesn't make sense to me.
  5. I remember when I first played Kotor where I made a very tanky evil Jedi that dual wielded sabers as I went through one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Why don't I have this choice in the official MMO? Why strip the choice that every force user should have and put up restrictions on something as simple as the type of saber we use. Can you PLEASE give Jedi/Sith choice on the type of Lightsaber they use? Please. Through lore and both the KOTOR game and the movies ALL jedi CHOSE which type of saber they wanted to use, why are we restricted by class? Even in your own scheme of the game you illustrate double sided sabers can be used to tank by the jedi shadow and sith assassin. Why can't my guardian opt to use a double sided? If I recall correctly Darth Maul was able to hold (or tank) 2 jedi at once. I understand loot can't be spread too thin, but thats what stats are for... Why do I find +strength double sided sabers...if their meant for shadow/assassin who if I recall correctly use willpower as their primary stat. Dual wielding sabers is the ONLY form I would say might need to be restricted but at the end of the day it's a game, thats what talents are for anyway. I just don't see why we cannot vary the saber usage and let us customize our jedi to how we want. It is bad enough we are restricted on color usage by alignment (when you could argue no color is inherently bad) but thats another argument for another day. It would just be really nice to be a Sith Marauder and have a choice to use a double sided rather than dual. or Be a guardian that uses dual sabers rather than a single one. Or an assassin that uses dual sabers rather than double etc. I fight enemies you have created all the time, a Heavy plated sith Warmong that uses a double sided saber... Please bioware it cannot be that hard to implement the stuff is already in the game. Please let us force users decide the style of saber we want to use.
  6. I feel silly with it. I mean I don't mind having a blaster if it is at least threatening i mean the stuff I'm using looks like a pea shooter.. the person who mentioned you get some pretty big guns/handcannons later on do you have a name of any of them? wouldn't mind seeing a picture.
  7. I completely agree...its pretty pathetic the defense tree and i really hope they fix it. I love the idea of my jedi guardian but he is so lackluster compared to vanguard/powertech counterparts because not only do they get MUCH more AoE and an overall easier time getting/holding threat...they actually deal damage. Soloing is beyond awful and tanking can often just be boring as well because i feel like all i do is spam slash and and riposte...obviously you throw in your long cooldowns here and there but overall ur consistently pressing only 1-2 buttons. I'm hybrid currently and it just makes me laugh to see high in the vigilance tree there is a +endurance talent that also greatly improves guardian leap....why is that NOT in the Defense tree? Why do we only have ONE ability that ACTUALLY generates bonus threat? and it's on a 1minute CD at that...like cmon.. i'd love a bit more excitement on my guardian not to mention damage. I'm hoping overhead slash will help improve that one i reach it need a few more lvls.
  8. I just hit 30 with my guardian. Its really tough i won't lie and this is coming from someone who makes a career of playing tanks in MMOs lol (not literally but there my favorite type of role) and this is up there on difficulty from a variety of factors. - The Trees are brutal for guardians you need talents from both - NONE of your skills have a threat modifier (cept hilt strike which has a very long CD..) - The skills that do generate decent threat (e.g. the sweep) have long CDs ^^^ - High amount of range enemies hard to hit all your targets before your dps goes off. - DPS are highly impatient WIth all that said again i found it challenging and awkward to tank definitely compared to when I played a vanguard in beta. But I will say a lot of it has to do with just having good CC will make your life loads easier. You can't avoid it you need levels. Once you hit 30 you get an AOE taunt and talented can reduce it to 30secs. Also keep your saber updated as best as you can so that you deal enough damage. Also careful doing any flashpoints or tanking at all against enemies above your level or even = to your level. (Primarily higher) your damage his hit hard and makes it that much harder. Always try to have +1 level at least over the flashpoint and itll help a lot. if i can find any other tips ill try to post. I hope others will because I still am not confident in my tanking.
  9. changing crystals doesnt work on certain sabers. The saber i had was from coruscant commendations if you check the saber ITSELF is light or dark there are different kinds I bought the light one. I tried stripping crystals from it didn't work still light =/
  10. I've hit a bit of a lull in my experience with my Jguard. The gameplay just isn't as fun as I was hoping while tanking, but I am familiar with a variety of MMOs where it takes awhile for some classes to come in their own. In beta I played a vanguard till about 19, i hated him at first but by time i hit 16+ I fell in love with the gameplay. I'm waiting for that moment with the Jedi Guardian. So my question is, does the JG just play kind of sluggish? Or does it pick up? My threat isn't good at all given I have no +threat abilities and only 1 aoe and a taunt. my 2nd question is more about talents. I have seen a few builds but most are lvl 50. I like the idea of mixing Vigi and Def but most times when i play MMOs its better to stick to 1 tree until you finish before switching over. Does the same apply here? How are you guys spending your points as you level? ATM i have 11 points in defense and 5 in vigi. Any recommendations would be great. I'm slowly working my way to overhead strike.
  11. thanks awesome thank you so much exactly what I was looking for....time to farm that flashpoint did it once already
  12. So ran into a little problem I poorly planned ahead about. I originally was going light with my Jedi however decided to fall a bit regardless i lost my Light 1 faction allowing me to wield my current saber. Now I am level 22 and need another saber that I can use because I am pretty SoL when it comes to galactic market there are none on sale and no quests seem to reward sabers much... any suggestions
  13. I just thought of it as they have pre orders from July to December and 7 days to get people in. They already did a 2million person Stress Test so i mean it's not like the servers are prepared. I don't feel like 1 million people pre ordered the first day...or even 500k. I could be wrong but the FIRST day of pre ordering 500,000ppl? doubtful with that being said I feel like they could handle inviting pretty much the first day of pre orders in the first wave if not the first 2 waves alone and start workin their way down to other days. If i'm not in by the afternoon i'd be rather disappointed Even tho I can admit i'm being incredibly impatient given there are no games I wanna play right now other than this one annnnnd I have been waitin for this game since they rumored its released back in like 2007 X_X
  14. Yeah....I won't lie the whole premise of "we're just gonna keep inviting people depending on server" I still dont see why they couldnt just at least give an estimate so I'm not sitting here watching it like a hawk.
