  1. Yesterday was my 53rd birthday and I spent it playing SWTOR, recovering from my Covid booster shot, and hanging out with my gurl Kiwi (the cat). It got me wondering what day did I start playing SWTOR. I was able to get in on early access and have played on and off since launch. My character and account started on 11/18/11. It feels so long ago and so much has happened in my life over the last 10 years. So what day did you start playing? Hope each of you had a good New Years Eve and that 2022 is a great year for you. If you're struggling right now, like I am, Kiwi and I are sending you lots of positive vibes and meows. https://ibb.co/nLRh2H2
  2. Thank you very much for replying. I'm also glad to know that I'm not the only one. I'll just take a break for awhile and then try again and keep watching the forums. If you do happen to get back in, could you be so kind as to post to let us know it's working? I'll do the same. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend.
  3. I got booted off and now the game is giving me a weird error saying that I need to retry the patch.
  4. So I'm going along and in the middle of a fight, while questing, with a guy who spawns a bunch of adds, flies into the air and can't be harmed until the adds are done. It's apart of the leveling and a FP (I think) process. The game lags out, the game crashes and now I'm getting a message when I try and log back in - "The application has encountered an unspecified error. Please try this patch again." http://i.imgur.com/THbGXYI.png Sooo, does this mean that I have to totally uninstall the game and re-install it? Very freaking annoying.
  5. Yes, exactly. All classes should have the exact same abilities and be able to do the exact same amounts of tanking, dps'ing and healing. The only difference between any class is the name given to the ability. Yep, sounds like a lot of fun to play.
  6. Never once in any of the launches from WoW - Wrath through WoD - did I experience ability delay/abilities simply not working, like I have since day 2 of early access of the original launch of this game. The ability delay/abilities not working isn't just happening inside of the FP's. This is an issue which was caused because of poor design choices and has persisted since beta. They'd done a number of things to improve, but never rid, the game of the problems.
  7. I'm seeing a lot of ability delay or abilities not working even outside of the FP. My first thought is this has something to do with the UI being a little buggy. Previously when you would bind keys to a Razer Naga mouse it would indicate which number it's been bound to. Now for me it's just random words. I also wonder if this isn't an issue with the way the UI is showing the GCD procs and the ability animations. If you remember at launch part of the ability delay issue was how they tied in animations with when you tried to cast an ability. Which is pretty stupid. They need to be separate; the obvious reason for this is if I cast X and need to stop to cast Y, I need the ability to actually stop and that includes the animation.
  8. As near as I can tell it's back and it's as bad as it was at launch. It isn't just inside the FP that I'm seeing this. I did some dps testing before going into and after leaving the FP and it's there. I play a marauder anni spec. Where I'm seeing the biggest issues are with ravage. The damn spell either doesn't work or it takes two or three presses to get it to work.
  9. Welcome back ability delay and abilities simply not working, I've really missed you. Or is this just a result of the horrific amount of lag in the solo FP? And isn't a solo FP sharded and you really shouldn't see a lot of lag in it to begin with?
  10. Welcome to 3.0!! A few things that I've noticed right away: 1) Lag - After starting the solo FP the lag is far worse than even what you get on Makeb and appears to only happen when going into combat. 2) Ability delay - It's back and with a vengeance. 3) Abilities not working - Totally random and may possibly be attributed to the lag but abilities just won't work when pressed. 4) Actors - The voice over on the female actor isn't in-sync. 5) Quick Bar - When setting key bindings to the Razer Naga previously it would give me a numerical value to let me know when number on my mouse the ability was bound to. Now I'm just getting an "end" and previous bindings no longer work.
  11. Meh, I do not need to justify myself to you or anyone else. I gave MY thoughts and MY feelings to the owners of this forum, not to you personally which you seem to feel the need to internalize. You're the typical passive aggressive internet troll. Furthermore, I am more than able to "google" something, I do not need to seek YOU out for YOUR advice on coping with RNG. Lastly, if you'd actually bothered to fully read the original post you would garner that my feelings are this quests is still (using the EXACT word here) indicative of the non-sense that was Ilum and other poor design decisions. Nothings really changed and after nearly two years it doesn't look like it ever will. Which is why they are NOT getting any more of MY money.
  12. I've paid my monthly subscription and as apart of that I am permitted to use the forums. As such I have given my thoughts to the owners of these forums and not you personally, unless of course you personally happen to own them in which case this post was directed at you. Stop internalizing what others have to say or how they feel. It is their opinion and they aren't any more or any less valid than your opinion or thoughts for that matter, regarding the subjective feelings of this video game.
  13. About a week ago I decided to come back and give this game another shot. Re-did my sub and away I went, leveling my 50 marauder to 55. Got frustrated with Oricon, decided to go level a toon on the Republic side, got bored and went back to my marauder. A number of people said that I'd be a lot better off getting the HK companion, OK, lets go do this. 2hrs on DK and then on to Taris, 5hrs and 35mins later and still no part I've gotten so frustrated that I'm done and have deleted the game. I don't mind a little Where's Waldo but this quest line is indicative of how poorly and mis-managed this game was at launch, and then the Ilum fail that allowed people to get valor caped in a few hours and then the on-going swapping for pvp dailies. I'm sure lots of folks will say the game's perfect and that I'm just a loser, maybe you're right. However, never again will BioWare get a dime of my money.
  14. No, it is NOT the damn internet provider nor is this an end user problem. It is with how BW a) shards the game because of the hero engine b) manages traffic between client and server c) using 3rd party hosting services for its servers - Learn to use the common tools with regards to networking and you will find all this to be true. I have a 50Mb up/down connection to the net via Comcast Business class service, I do NOT share bandwidth with anyone and suffer lag in ops, fps', on planets and fleet. This is the only title that I have these problems with WoW nope, Star Trek Online nope, LoL nope, free 2 play MMOs such as Mech Warrior , World of Tanks, and Planetside 2 - NONE of these titles do I suffer from lag or abilities not working correctly. BW made some gigantically BAD decisions in game design and implementation with regards to abilities and sadly short of a major rewrite these will NEVER go away.
  15. So after one annoying bug and problem after another I finally broke down and tried out Star Trek. SWTOR has a MUCH better combat engine than ST and moving around is a lot more enjoyable in SWTOR. But what ST has that SWTOR doesn't is an amazing free space experience. I don't much care for the combat in space with ST, I think there's a lot that could be done with that. But, the experience is just incredible and even more so on a 55" wall mounted TV in HD. So come on BioWare, get your act in gear and get some free space going. I think personally if you considered the way that ST has designed and implemented theirs that's a really clever way to put space in game. This isn't meant to be an ST is better than SWTOR or SWTOR is better than ST. They both have some major shortfalls but one has a major upside. So chop chop BioWare, get your fanny in gear and get some free space going.
