  1. Huh ? I've obtained that Karagga palace mount back in early 2012 on Nightmare, it wasn't a problem then, it certainly shouldn't be a problem now to be obtained by a level 55 O_o ?
  2. Nope. Real good Mage versus a real good Warlock in a duel, for example, and let's say that's time of WoTLK. It was amazing how much skill it took on both sides to try and pull off a victory. 1v1 in this game ? Who spams his CDs first.
  3. Stopped reading there. Do you realise how easy PvP in this game is, ye ? So are the classes. Quite frankly, Assassin is the hardest class to play right now in PvP, and even they're easy to play. It's natural that you got killed in WoW, Mage was one of the hardest classes to play there. If you borrowed friends acc on WoW to try and play a specific class, you failed for a while until you got used to it. Here, you pick up a class, learn what DPS rotation it uses, what kind of stuns/escapes it has, and you're good to go. This game is ridiculously simple, that's the thing.
  4. First of all.. to all the people comparing SWTOR to WoW start _SEVEN_ freaking years ago - stop. This isn't 2005. This is 2012. Players are not new to the MMO concept. While it was fun playing WSG for NO REASON 7 years back, it's not fun playing in the same system 7 years later. I had high hopes for this game, although I already got a little bored while I was leveling, but I shrugged it off, seeing everyone compliments Bioware on their game design quality, and was like "I'm so sure they'll hook me up on PvP in endgame, and PvE will be great, too". Guess what. I'm a Battlemaster now ( I don't even know why people say "pre-Ilum" or something, does it matter ? Regardless, I got to rank 57 via warzones, rest Ilum grind ), I have 2 PvP dailies to complete every day. I already mastered my class in PvP ( might come easy to a multi-glad player from WoW, where PvP was harder, I guess ). That's my PvP endgame, whooptie-f*cking-doo. Rated warzones won't save this game's PvP. Maybe arenas will, MAYBE. As for PvE, currently, I run a guild of real life mates, with 5 of us being 50, and 3-4 more incoming to 50. I'm sure we'll have no problems clearing nightmare modes. That's our PvE endgame. Money in this game ? Worthless, the only thing it's used is for constant respeccing ( derp, dual spec hurp durp ). Open world concept ? NOPE. They're phasing republic and empire players, respectively. If I recall correctly, Alderaan, Tatooine, Hoth and Voss are only planets in the game where empire can actually meet reps. Also, they have GOT to stop babysitting their playerbase. If people rolled on PvP server, it means that they deserve to be ganked in open world, or do the ganking themselves. Create a planet for next ops instance, make it so you have to physically come to the ops instance, and allow PvPers to gank PvErs and vice versa. Create some sense in this game, a sort of a hook. The funny part - I was playing LoL for over almost a year now, due to the fact that I had nothing to play while I was waiting for this game. Now I find myself playing LoL more than SWTOR, which was supposed to be a gosh darned placeholder time-munching game I picked up to spend my time until SWTOR arrives. And to the guy who pondered why the hell are people talking about canceling their subs, well.. MMO is a investment, it's not like the games that you can download off pi*ate bay, try them out, see if they're any good and then buy them. When you buy a MMO, it means that you trust the developer enough that your money is well spent. Sadly, right now, this is not the case for SWTOR. People who are hooked up close to addiction to this game have ridiculously low standards. 1.2 will make it or break it. I don't plan on renewing if 1.2 isn't good, I think the rest of playerbase are in the same boat.

    Nerf Inquisitors!

Assassins/Shadows are one of the weakest classes in the PvP chain, the ones that manage to kill you are usually better than you by a considerable margin. Stop whining and crying, rofl.
  6. People who don't think arena was skill are people who failed at arena and consider battlegrounds/warzones the pinnacle of skill, it's THAT simple. Granted, there were cheese comps ( warr rogue druid in TBC, beastcleaves in WoTLK, RLS in Cata, to name a few, etc etc ofc ), but usually the better players won. Stop being ignorant. edit The guy few posts above me summed it up. There is ZERO fulfillment in doing mindless PvP with no reason. I think many MMO players have passed that point long long time ago. Heck, when I was 15, I enjoyed simply PvPing in WSG, picking up berserker buff and oneshotting people with my Soulfire. The problem is, I'm not a newbie to MMOs anymore, and I'm not 15 anymore, same goes for many many others. I'm 21 now, I'm looking for a "competitive" platform to test myself against others - that became the standard to MMO PvP ever since WoW TBC came out. It doesn't matter if it's not balanced, rated warzones would/will be cool and all, but that's pure objective play. I don't want to follow objectives, I want to pit myself against equal number of PvPers on other side and see who kills the enemy team first, them or my team. THAT'S skill, organised small scale PvP where the team that has better improvisation, overall skill, and general understanding of their classes/enemy classes - ultimately wins. Huttball is fun, but it isn't skill. You can roll 2 tank assassins, 2 tank juggernauts and 4 healer inquisitors, a team that can't be killed nor stopped from scoring a goal. What's the point in that ? Voidstar will be ties between two equally skilled teams with normal composition. Alderaan will be games where each team has one base and are fighting the whole match for 3rd, with no chance of capping. Huttball will be a game of who has the better turtle, unkillable team with more knockbacks. Arena ? 4 pillars, placed in a moderately sized space, and pure PvP action. I think I've said enough.
  7. This is actually a completely new concept that I'd completely support. If this game implements arena, + a DoTA style BG ( with approximate time length of 30-35 minutes ), then this game may have salvation yet.
  8. No offense, but a game where a "non-pro" guild finishes entire content without breaking a sweat, is a very very weird game.. Progress = time sink, it always should be. It's their fault that game is too easy, that they finished entire content and have nothing else to do ? Please. I don't think that anyone paid the money they paid for this game to go to forums and whine. I really don't hear the whines of people who cry because of nerfs/games being too hard, etc. But legitimate whining about game content ( or lack of one ), and systems that are obviously meant for casual players in mind.. that kind of whining I support. I'm doing it myself afterall.
  9. The thing is.. I was a fanboy during the first month of the game. After dinging 50, I was still a fanboy, who wore pink tinted glasses. But for past 2-3 weeks, I really see no point anymore when it comes to PvP in this game. I'm missing 30k valor for Battlemaster, and what exactly happens after I finish the Battlemaster gear grind ? I don't want to fight lesser geared players and "own/pwn" them. I left that kind of mentality back in Vanilla WoW ( when I was oneshotting people with Soulfire with my mix of t2.5/t3 gear ). I also don't have any "normal" place to world PvP in ( Ilum is a fluke, and why have they decided to have entire game content available from fleet is beyond me, it would've been better if they forced people to go to Belsavis/Quesh on foot to enter Ops instances, making camping entrances potent for PvP ). I have nothing even remotely comparable to arena. Basically, I'll finish my Battlemaster gear grind, and be forced to level an alt, if I further want to continue playing this game. Note that I'm not alone in my opinion. I'm not a "hater", I'm just confused. GW2 is focusing almost completely on PvP, with little to no gear dependency. In WoW, you grind gear so you are able to compete with other geared players. You grind gear here so you can be the local bully and ravage through lesser geared players in warzones. If this game doesn't change until summer, well, I don't think that anyone will wear pink tinted glasses anymore. Bioware is just lucky that there's people like me who can actually wait for changes.
  10. As a high rated Gladiator player from WoW, I must say that my partner who I've rolled with on this game has already semi-quit. I'm still here only because of RL mates and the fact that my sub is active until 22.04. edit The guy above me who mentioned Burning Crusade.. that was the best game ( or well, xpack ) I have ever played, outside of old DOS/Win95 platformers. I honestly don't think anything can or will ever be compareable to the progression and the fun that TBC offered. Ranging from Kara, to Gruul; from SSC to MH; from BT to Sunwell, from S1 to S4, I don't remember a single time I was actually bored during TBC.
  11. No, every time I read a post like this, I know the guy who posted it is horrible. Every Assassin who thinks he's good for playing Darkness, and that other specs are horrible, is horrible himself. I also see everyone complaining about Madness/Deception survivability, while they take no points into Insulation or Sith Defiance. Granted, those talents don't mean much, but they account for some survivability. Just a small btw, I haven't tested Madness in 1v1 yet as of this new patch, but it's horribly overpowered in WZs thus far, especially in the survivability department. It probably still sucks for 1v1 versus tank Juggernauts/any spec Marauders, but anything else, you'll probably steamroll over. As for Deception... it's probably the spec with biggest jaw dropping burst in the game right now. Open with Force Slow from stealth ( honestly... Spiking out of stealth is worthless, too much energy for too little of a stun ( 1.5 sec global cooldown for 2 sec stun ), that fills too much of resolve bar, and you still have to Force Slow afterwards ), after Dark Embrace effect ends, use Blackout for extra 6 seconds of force regen+10 energy on use, coupled with Overcharge Saber. Voltaic Slash x2, Recklessness, Shock, Voltaic Slash x2, Discharge ( if at least at 3 stacks of Static Charges up, otherwise you can just do one autoattack or another Voltaic ), Shock, Assassinate - that's guaranteed to drop EVERYTHING that doesn't have guard on itself. The amount of damage that a well geared and played Deception Assassin does, it simply doesn't justify any significant amount of survivability past Shroud/Cloak/Deflection. The only downside to the spec is that you need LOADS of crit/surge rating on your gear ( effectively having to purchase duplicate champ/battlemaster gear to take the enhancements outside of the gear and place into PvP pieces that don't have crit/surge on them ). edit : after reading some more in this thread.. Low slash to Crushing Darkness, what ? That DoT is designed first of all, to get used by a Madness specced Assassin, not by a Deception ***., and secondly, you only ever _CAST_ crushing darkness as a part of your "burst" opener as Madness in rare situations where you 1v1 someone ( Mind trap -> Overcharge+Trinket+Recklessness -> Crushing Darkness -> Death Field ). Crushing Darkness is used 99% of time as a instant cast+free cost spell due to Raze proc. And saying that Darkness takes skill to play.. ***** please. Wither when it drops off, Dark Ward when it drops off, Shock on cooldown, Thrash to reset Shock CD and Lightning when 3 stacks of Harnessed Darkness are up. Real skill jop.
  12. I'm an Assassin, now Madness, but used to be Deception. Mercs are fine. You interrupt their Tracer, follow it with Electrocute for another interrupt/free DPS time in case he doesn't have his break up. As for amount of pushbacks they have, I agree, it's absolutely MORONIC how much they can push people around. However, you're a Powertech... pull them down. Or if you're already on top, if you're a class with pushback, push him down and fight him on bottom, where it's a equal terms fights, even in your favor actually. I'm talking Huttball, of course. In voidstar/alderaan, heights and knockbacks aren't that broken.
  13. Compared to Powertechs jumping onto people/Juggernauts being literally unstoppable once their resolve bar is full ( charge an enemy, intercede a friendly target, etc etc ), I think Assassins are just fine.
  14. Only people who were bad at WoW PvP can say that "it's made for noobs". To be good at arena, you had to first master your class, then had to master teamplay. True, certain combinations were insanely overpowered and allowed lower skilled players to win, but usually the best players always won everything in front of them.
