Don't forget the kolto tanks in a pinch.

From the numbers both are giving I think almost all our gear will have to have defensive secondary stats on all our gear. Meaning that there will be very little room to exchange Endurance for willpower, and the gains in Health or DPS going in either direction will probably make little difference. It looks like BW has made the decision for us in that gear with tanking stats has more Endurance than Willpower. You can use a DPS armor mod on your weapon and 4 pieces of armor but the increase in Wllpower would not be that tremendous. My issue is that in in a raiding enivironment a shadow tank would have to roll on an individual offensive mod (if they drop from bosses as indicaed before, which may have changed since artifact gear will have removable armor mods). They may also make an armor mod purchasable with tokens which would be the easiest way to aquire a DPS armor mod. If mods arent purchasable with tokens then they would have to buy 2 pieces of gear to get the piece the way they wanted. Which for the gains in DPS would be a grossly inefficient use of your tokens.

I wish we had some capping information on defensive secondary attributes. Because as of this moment 99% of gear with defensive attributes have more endurance than willpower which if every unmoddable slot item has to have a defensive stat on it to be effective in mitigation in avoidance then it leaves moddable gear and possibly relics. Which is 7 items and I don't see the willpower difference being that much. Has anyone determined caps or diminishing returns on shield, absorb, and defence because if every piece of gear has to have it we will very little movement to choose between endurance and willpower because BW will have made the choice for us in nonmoddable gear.

Man Keeping your appearance will be a serious gold sink. I am level 48 and wanted to remove an purple level 47 mod to put in my new robe, and each purple level was nearly 14k gold to remove. That means if an epic armor piece has 3 pieces you need then swtching mods to a moddable piece of gear would cost 42k. I really need to save my gold. I have 4 slots of moddable gear, so to get them to all epic level items, I will need the tokens to buy gear plus 168k+ because I am sure lvl 50 mods cost more. So glad I don't have to wear the funny hat and dress when I get purple drops. My Body Type 4 Shadow thanks you Bioware.

I may have not been clear. What I was trying to say is long winded. As it stands right now If you stack avoidance (defence)/mitigation(shield/Absorbtion) you will automatically stack endurance with end game or unmoddable gear, because gear with those stats has more endurance than willpower. Your only option for Preendgame gear that will result in more willpower and less endurance is if you use modded gear and use the armor mod that has more willpower than endurance. In endgame you may switch out mods here and there when you have capped your stats to get more Willpower DPS, but by nature our gear will have more endurance than willpower. I have not seen numbers on endgame as far as exactly how much Defence, Shield, Absorption or Accuracy we need to cap but I will be suprised if we have much room to move to add any offensive secondary stats. The only place in endgame you can really bring it down to Willpower vs. Endurance is by rolling against dps and heals on armor mods dropped by raid bosses with more willpower than endurance and use them in moddable gear to bring them on par with raid gear. This could only be done on 5 items, and I would wager that the increase in DPS will be negligable. Besides that it would be real crappy for a tank to take a mod that caters to a heals or dps's primary job so that he can do more dps, when that is not his primary job. You can switch out earpieces, implants and relics to increase DPS as well but I would reserve judgement on that until we get some more info on caps and diminishing returns.

So, when do I start feeling like a Master?

What mision are you on. I am 43 and on Voss. I just finished the trials test which ended in a 46 elite. It was rough but me and Theran pulled it out. I find when I am in your situation 9/10 times its because I neglected Theran's gear. It's imperative he be geared as close to his level as possible. This means trips to the auction house. Hope this helps. Edit: I am tanked spec, didn't put together you were DPS spec. Sorry about that. I am not familiar with the DPS specs. -
Your example is slightly flawed. Your example should be 20.5k hp with some avoidance and the other less hp and more avoidance. The only way your current example would balance out otherwise which would be absurd is 20.5k hp and 0% avoidance vs. 0 hp and 24% avoidance. The 20.5k hp shadow will have some avoidance maybe more, because all of the gear with Defence, Shield and Absorb I have seen has had greater endurance over willpower. In fact there are only a few gear pieces I have seen leveling to 43 that did not stat out this way. That only leaves moddable gear which 5 pieces that you could choose the willpower dominant armor mod. Just like people are saying that the hp from the endurance heavy mod is unsubstancial, one could argue that the additional willpower you get from the other mod would be of little consequence as well. And from what people are saying end game gear with tank stats like defence are the same way. Therefore the whole argument may be moot. I don't see how you could gear in a manner where you could focus on avoidance and not get prodominantly more Endurance over willpower with the way gear is itemized that has tanking secondary stats. I have chosen upgraded mods with focus on avoidance and still ended up wih pieces that had more endurance than willpower. Threat is not a problem and although I don't do as much damage as a DPS I do a fair amount of damage. Dev's have indicated armor mods will drop on end game bosses that will allow you to upgrade moddable gear to tier level gear. If you could get mods for your gear at end game with more willpower to make your moddable gear as good a tier level gear how much of an a-hole would a shadow tank be to roll on the armor mod with more willpower against a Sage healer, sage dps or Shadow DPS?

Read te description closely. It says only works on regular and strong mobs. That excludes players, elites and champions. If it is not working on strong mobs for you then you may have an issue.

Although it looks similar that is not the PvP armor. The PvP armor has straight lines on the sleve and no green trim. The sleves on the picture have what seem to be an embroidery pattern. Havnt seen this in game yet but I am 42 so if its a 47 reward I wouldnt have seen it yet.

I think what most people are trying to say is we have a new game, with people you don't know, with new healers and a click and heal UI. Endurance and health provide a margin for error. For now stack endurance, once you become knowledgeable and are being healed by skilled knowledgable healers then you should min/max other attributes and worry less about endurance. I believe the devs are emphasizing its importance early on as indicated by obvious tank shadow gear statistically having more endurance.

Ok good news is last wave had folks with preorders as late as 12/4 so you may get in today on last wave. -
And Actually the rage would be warranted because they would be going against what they said they would do. But you know what. I still wouldn't rage because when I see someone get a gift that is better than mine, I don't ***** at the person giving out the gifts about how my gift isn't as good as the other person's. I just say thank you for the gift. Merry Christmas.
