  1. Take the story quest. It'll give you a Tactical Flashpoint. Cancel the Tactical Flashpoint (you may need to reset your phases by clicking on your portrait and clicking 'reset phases'). Talk to the droid right outside the entrance, and he'll give you the option of doing it solo or tactical. Pick solo, head in, you'll get your droid and kill everything... and the story quest will complete. They should just direct you to go talk to the droid rather then automatically assigning you to tactical (or to solo, to be honest), but meh, it's EA.
  2. Aha, if you can do it at 50 without accusations of wanting to be carried, I'm fine with that. Yes, when it was all soloable it was probably 'better', but as long as it's at least possible, I'm okay with that. I note that on my one 51, it tells me I should have the 218 equipment or whatever it is, though, which the average 50 is not going to have if they've just leveled there (the average 50 isn't going through raids, after all, and is probably wearing generics in some parts, decently modded in a few others). Will they still be able to contribute decently? ...I suppose I could drag that 51 through the HK quest and see for myself, but ugh. It's just so long...
  3. From what I understand... after you start KotFE, your old quests are gone. Vamoosed. You're thrown in to the future, and running around looking for parts is over. HM Foundry/Maelstrom Prison is required, though. And now HM Foundry/Maelstrom Prison scales up to 65. Presumably, New Player should not be getting to 65 until they start KotFE (and thus, the future!). Everyone at 65 and playing this flashpoint, however, is not going to want to carry New Player through the flashpoint without a pretty hefty bribe (and that might not even work), which new player is unlikely to have. And even if New Player does goof off running dailies till 65, their equipment is probably not going to be good enough to confidently cue for a HM flashpoint... and, honestly, considering it's a level 52 or so quest, having them need to be 65 seems a bit unfair. It's impossible to solo anymore, due to it scaling up, from what I've heard (not that it probably should have been soloable to begin with, but hey). So what should a New Player do? I'm thinking that they should add the part to the Tactical Flashpoint as well, personally. This is supposed to be a group quest, and now one can solo the Battle of Ilum (not that it wasn't possible already), so something should still be group-necessary. But requiring the 65 Hard Mode seems a bit much for the quest level; at least Tactical then could complete it in the early 50's, with some luck. Am I missing something, though? Anyone else have ideas?
  4. I wondered about this with Vector, too, musing that out of all romancable companions, he would likely be the one that would be chill with my character flirting around: I mean, the whole Voss story was basically him like "Oh, yes, go and flirt with this Voss! And marry them! And have sex with them! YAY CULTURE! PS: AGENT PLZ MARRY ME NOW, TOO!"- certainly spinning a story that I'm screwing around with Lana or Theron to get information out of them (which, especially for Theron, makes sense- he's an enemy spy!, I should be flirting with him!). Oddly, though, I think my Agent is basically my only character who didn't cheat. I wonder if he sends you an angry breakup letter, too. That's a bit offtopic, but I just generally agree I don't see Kaliyo really "I'm going to breakup with you because you flirted with someone else!". I could see her making snarky comments of "Oh, do you think she's better then me? I bet I could break her", I could see her "Well, you slept with that person, so I'M GOING TO SLEEP WITH THREE MORE PEOPLE" or even just threatening to hit you, her, or something in her way, but I don't really think of Kaliyo as someone who minds casual relationships on the side. If you were planning on marrying Lana or something, she might kill you, but a bit of casual flirtation? As I recall, she didn't have an issue with my male Agent flirting constantly with Watcher Two while flirting with her (don't remember how the Temple deal went). (There's a few others I have trouble seeing as breaking up with you, too. Jaesa basically tells you that she was looking forward to finding your mistresses so she could kill them- I think she'd see Lana as an oppertunity to prove herself the better Sith and kill her, rather then dump you. Likewise, Quinn knows he's on very thin ice: him breaking up with you after knowing you have every reason to kill him strikes me as a stupid move from a man who is usually intelligent. Haven't seen what happens there, though, either.) ...On the other hand, I'm totally expecting Corso sending my smuggler the most whiny and angry email ever, and I am totally okay with that.
  5. I managed to solo this on a 58 operative just wearing the quest gear from Oricon yesterday (I didn't even buy any better vendor gear as I figured I'd be going through SoR/KOTFE and then upgrade). I was able to defeat all mobs, but it was taking so long with all the healers to not be worth it so I decided to stealth past everyone: I died once doing that, but it did get me all the way in. All I needed to do was throw one grenade at the core: there were no checkpoints, computers to deal with, things I needed to shoot with a rifle... nothing. The only challenge was the 'Guardian of the Core', as said. Considering my gear, I'm unsure if I could have done that without playing a healer: if I had to rely on a healer companion and shut their healing abilities on/off whenever he did his force transfer, I don't think I could have kept my DPS going to the point that the fight would have taken a half an hour and I would have strangled something (being ranged helped, too). Having said that, he couldn't kill me no matter how hard he tried. I did have to manage my companions one interrupt near the end of the fight to try and keep his force drain down (as I wasn't able to completely stop it totally with my own abilities), but that wasn't too troublesome. I believe I could have done it at earlier levels, though the full AOE heal was helpful. ...One may just be able to run right past him and throw the grenade, finish the quest, and then die/stealth out/leash him. I didn't actually try that, but it may be possible if you're just at level?
  6. Likewise, in return... PAX: http://www.swtor.com/user/ce/26yma NYCC: http://www.swtor.com/user/ce/26ymb Have fun.
  7. Aww, Domi, Andry's cute! I promise! Human, yes, but still adorable in his gruff way. I understand the Consular story gets better in Act II and Act III, but I'm just having difficulty getting to that point. Honestly, Qyzen is rough. I don't hate him, but I think I like every other first companion better then him. No, you're not stuck with him as long as you're stuck with, say, Kaliyo (I like her, but I understand everyone who is horribly sick of her by the time you get Vector, especially LS agents), but his garrbled alien grunts and clicks just irritate me. And there are only so many masters you can save before you get weary of the whole deal.
  8. From what I understand, their exact quotes on Revan have basically been 'we'll see'. They have not confirmed he's alive, but they deliberately changed it so you no longer loot his body so that he can be alive if they want to use them again. Personally, I hope they don't. Revan was a great character, but that was when he (or, actually, she) was my character. As a SWTOR character, he's just another deluded fool who's been driven mad by the Empire. What's so interesting about him? Nothing, save for we once played as him (or her). So why don't we just replay KOTOR when we want to and let Revan stay in peace? (Also, ironically, the angry posts in the first part of this thread got it wrong- Aveline was in full support of Revan as a woman, and that's why Atton will initially assume Revan was a she. LucasArts, however, wanted their standard male protagonist. I'm still surprised Exile made it out as female.) To be blunt, there's not much they can do with him. Obviously, he can't get revenge on the Emperor: that's the story for the SWTOR Player Characters, specifically the Jedi Knight. He also can't be anything too obvious that invalidates the Empire characters who did their best to kill him. So what does that leave? Either Revan becomes yet another quest giver sending you out to find five Imperial codes off some imp bodies, or he becomes a raid mob hunted down in a operation at max level. Those... aren't what I'd like to see Revan be, to be honest. Maybe he did fold space, but I'd rather he got away to an era far away from SWTOR and our characters.
  9. I think my Agent would keep her team, honestly. All give good insights in to the current problems- Kaliyo's a loose canon, Bug boy's an idealist (and I swear, a wanna-be-jedi), the Ensign's a bit too loyal to the people who drove the agent crazy, the Doctor is borderline betrayer, and Scorpio is crazy darkside, but they're all family. SW's Jaesa would be insanely useful for Agent operations, though, with her special powers. So maybe my Agent would deactivate the crazy robot trying to kill her for a while and take the 'nice' fallen Jedi along. What could go wrong? My smuggler would keep Corso and Risha, as the smuggler just needs farm-boy and snarky-princess to add color to the ship. Many people would say you need a wookie, too, but seriously, Bowdarr is boring as hell. I'd dump him. Let's take Qeyzen instead- he has the honorable thing going on like Bowdarr, his philosophy would be an interest contrast to the smugglers MORE MONEY YAY way of thinking, and he has more personality then a jar of peanut-butter. I like Sparr well enough, but as my smuggler's a girl, I'm not above changing her out for the other Mandalorian so there's another boy to drool over (...and I hate the Corso romance). Torian's more LS then Sparr is, anyway, so it would fit. ...I freely admit I might be the only person in the world who likes Guss, but I care not at all. He's my smuggler's cheerleader! He adores her! And he's a mean, mean Jedi! How can you not like mean, mean Jedi? As for my Inquisitor, we're shoving most of them out the airlock. We'll keep Khem Val and Xalek, as they actually make sense in the story and seem to have reasons for coming along. I don't really have anything against Andronikus exactly, but he seems to have no reason to travel with my Inquisitor besides a random "Wee! I like ships!"- he also gains almost the exact same affection as Khem does, which is boring. So let's take Quinn who hopefully won't shoot the Inquisitor in the back so there's a full love interest for our Inquisitor ladies (or turn Xalek in to one- that works, all the guys get apprentices mooning over them, after all). Quinn at least has a very different code of honor then Khem, and would give us a loyal-to-the-empire companion sooner. For our first apprentice, we'll once again poach from the Sith Warrior to steal Jaesa so the guys get their full romance- though she'd also have to be available as a romance for LS male SI's. Then, to replace Talos (who again I don't have anything against, but he still seems to have no real reason to be traveling with the Inquisitor), we'll take... hm, why don't we just take Sparr? Then the romance for male problem would be settled. Then we still have Xalek and Khem, and all is well.
  10. There are a very few companions (Khem Val comes to mind) that require you to finish Chapter 3 in order to gain their bonuses. Kaliyo isn't one of them, and yeah, you can obtain her bonus if you don't romance her (otherwise, female characters would sort of be screwed, huh?).
  11. When you first meet him and do a "Who the heck are you?", he does a "Have we fallen so fallen that the daughter of my daughters does not remember my name?" (I assume it's son of my sons if you're male). He's definitely not your direct father, but rather an ancestor. As he was alive to face Tulok Hord, he's pretty darn old. I don't think carbonate freezing has been invented long enough for your character to be his direct son or daughter.
  12. I just don't get Corso. I mean, I can see the appeal of Quinn, even though he... you know,
  13. The Agent's ship is sexy. Star-Treky, perhaps, but it's a sexy ship. Not too fond of either the Sith's or the Smugglers. Smugglers feels like a Smuggler's ship should, but it's round-about nature would make it hard to defend, and it's a pain to get around with. Sith's is just so... red.
  14. Corso cares. Good lord, Corso cares. You'll lose -1 affection for every flirt line you take, and usually -40 for actually going through the deed. He'll also try and interrupt it with conversation checks... usually, to get to it, you need to tell him that, yes, you're going to sleep with someone, losing -15, then you sleep with them, losing -40. This even starts before his romance really does- he starts freaking out before you've given him permission to romance him, then after you say you will, he gets even worse. He's a very jealous and possessive boyfriend. Vector, Agent side, also didn't give a darn about any flirting. We were already married on Voss, and he popped up a conversation before I married... uh, the brother of the girl the OP married, but I just told him it was a job and got no penalty. Got no penalty when I slept with him, either. I imagine Vector has different views on romance then most, though. So far, Sith Warrior side, Quinn is proving not to care much about who I flirt with, but that seems to fit his personality. He doesn't see himself as worthy of the Sith Warrior, anyway.
  15. I'm female with male toons, but I generally only play them when I want to be anonymous and I'm sick of people asking for pictures of my breasts or making the 'lulz get in the kitchen' jokes (what about that is supposed to be funny?). My main's are all female. I grew up on video games where you couldn't choose the gender of your main character- it was always males you had to play. So whenever I have an option for a female character, I don't like to take it for granted. It's still rarer then I would like. So... I play gals. And hope that people just assume I'm a guy playing a female toon so they don't harass me.
