  1. Mia culpe on the HiB crit. Still when I'm closing in pvp it's sticky, FP, SS... To get both cooldowns going and get a meh burst. Gut is a good skill, it's just not my first 4m skill. If they blow a def cd that early before I can get a gut off its not going to end well for them. Tactics doesn't have a whoe ton of on demand burst, and I find by starting like that I get some initial punch, as everything else takes prep time, ie gut before HiB and 2 more IPs before PC. Just saying for pvp... I like the back to back pops of those three to start.
  2. It's not a bad power. It's just not a great power. It's underwhelming. They need to up the damage, or replace AP in assault with a launch all missiles power... Or increase the range on it. Quite honestly outside of pve tanking non bosses... It's meh. In pvp... It doesn't heal for that much... Again, it's not bad. It's just not in par with scamper, teleport, or other new abilities.
  3. Fire pulse first yes. For me, i like Stock strike before gut because you might... 50% chance, proc auto crit HiB. I also like to open with SS (open is loosely used and i mean it as my first attack within 4 meters) because I want to use it again sooner, even 1GCD sooner, then I gut, and hopefully have an auto crit HiB now between the two. That's for pvp though. Some people advocate for gut first for the slow (if specced into) and because if you get knocked back the bleed might proc the auto crit HiB which yiu can use from distance. I personally don't find the snare useful if you get knocked back since most KB has an immob on it... Still I like SS better because most good players don't immediately knock yiu back... They will save it for a better time, like when you pop the crit increase buff... Then try to distance/Los you till it's gone. I will say though most "good VGs" that play tactics will gut before SS to start the ticking and open up for HiBs... I just think SS hits so hard you want as many as possible... As soon as possible... Even meaning loosing the extra 6% damage on the initial strike. Sigh... I feel like I just talked myself into conforming... Eff that... SS at 4 meters first!
  4. What he is saying is he has seen this first hand on his main I assume. He has an OP alt apparently tgat he has not leveled. This does not invalidate his comments.
  5. Did you seriously say that as a sentinel.... Lmao! You probably are one of the smash monkeys... Taking about PT... Lulz.
  6. First off stop calling the OP a bad person for having an opinion and playing the game, without cheating or hacking. I don't agree with him. I think it's self destructive as it turns away new players and ultimately destroys the game. But that doesn't make him a bad person. If he was saying "I touch little boys for fun" then yes he's a bad man. But hes not. He's saying "I play a competitive game and gain satisfaction destroying others with an advantage (an unfair advantage due to the degree of impact IMHO) that I gained through time and effort". That doesn't make him a bad person or even a bully. Though there are some cyberbullies out there in the game. Stick to game related opinions... Not personal attacks.
  7. First your assuming your opening up right next to someone and not gap closing. 2. Stock strike first then gut to take advantage of proc and because it does more upfront damage 3. Don't HiB until your critical procs or you could waste it 4. In the meantime ion pulse 5. You should provably hold the line before Pulse Cannon if you are fighting a class with knockback 6. You need to be firing off shoulder cannon too as it doesn't respect GCD It might be beneficial to think of ability priorities vs ability rotations. Just my 2 cents. Gl/hf **edit*** just saw your shoulder cannon comment ... I use them all at once while I do IP/HiB/ss.... As fast as I can push the buttons and the animation allows lol
  8. Sigh... It's hard to get mad at a well written, eloquent (is that redundant?) post. That said I can't really agree with the sentiment of enjoying face rolling... Just because or justifying it because, we went through it. In 2004 they (the Joint Commission) implemented a rule that resident physicians could only work 80 hrs per week and no more than 30 consecutive hours with no new patients the last 6. People were pissed. They were like we did it why can't they! I came in the middle of that... And I can tell you thank god for the limits. The point is just because "we" did it, or went through it doesn't mean that's the way it should be. Wouldn't it have been more enjoyable for you in the beginning if yiu didn't get lol stomped? The biggest joy I get is when I play against a premade in a mostly pug and either win or give them a go of it. The only thing, IMHO, good about fighting lower/under geared players is that I got dailies/weeklies done faster. I like the carrot at the end of the stick too. I just think the carrot should be non game changing, like better titles, better looking shells, weapons with cool affects, stuff like that. Then I can show up in a WZ with my sparkly gun and glowing helmet and they opponents will go "damn that guy has logged some pvp time". Hopefully at the end of the match they aren't thinking "dang all that pvp time and he still sucks!"
  9. Ohhhh.... Ill be 55 today or tommorrow. I can tank or dps. Send me an ingame message if you want help.
  10. This post has some glaring errors in it. When I started at launch... We started equally. And as time went on the gap got bigger. I didn't even realize how big it was till I rolled an Alt and was like wt*. It is not fun, or fair, to have new pvp players thrown into a match with not just a skill discrepancy but a a huge gear gap. I'm taking about a gap so large that regardless of your skill level you can't overcome it. I experienced that as well when I had to leave for a month or two for work... You want no bolster, fine. Make it so that if your gear is above a certain level you can only que with similarly geared players. I guarantee you'll be on here in 1 week complaining of how long the que times are... While the "lower gear people" will be on here talking about how great pvp is now. You earn your stripes by playing matches, not by getting better gear and beating on people who don't have a chance. I found no amusement in that. Awesome... There's the same poor kid trying to play the game.... 3-4 GCD later he's dead... Yea for me. That was hard. I pushed 4 buttons and burned through all his def cooldowns, I'm awesome. I beat this new kid... Who had 16k health. I'm the man. I'm so good at pvp. Seriously? and btw, if you don't live at home with your parents or in a dorm, and have a career and a family you can't play 3 hours a day to get the best gear in a week. Does that mean you soul don't be able to play or contribute to pvp? I bet the majority of the subscribers fall into this group. BW is a business they need and should continue to cater to the majority of their clientele, not the overly vocal minority, who have egos to stroke.
  11. Personally I say get rid of pvp gear altogether (save for cosmetics) and increase the amount of comms it takes to get the pieces. If it takes x hours to go through a raid and you get 1 drop and some coms.... It should be fairly easy to convert this to an equivalent number of wazones and coms to get the equivalent gear. I like pvp... Pve is ok. But I tell you this... I like the balance of bolster, at least in theory. Pvp should be more about skill than gear. You want rewards for pvp... Get titles and new shells, or special effects for your weapons. Seriously if you claim to enjoy pvp, then get pissed because yiu don't out gear other people... And can't three shot them... You don't really like pvp. You like stroking your own ego and waxing poetic about how great you are. The good pvpers on my server will beat me with equal or near equal gear. The bads won't, And they will cry about it. Yes I have EWH. Did the grind suck? NOPE. Why because I play for the competition not for the ego stroke. Personally I also hope that min maxing goes away. When I walk into the metaphorical arena it's me and my team vs you and yours. No advantages... A swords a sword, a tridents a trident, a shields a shield. It's a matter if skill and sweat. If I pvp 30 minutes a week and we both have the same spec and same gear (or bolstered equivalent) and I do better than you... That's not because of bolster... That's because you aren't as good as you think you are. Thank goodness for the gear gap closure. Now when I beat someone I know it's not because I out geared them... And when I lose I know it's because they were better.
  12. LMAO I call bulls***. You arrest people on the street and in correctional facilities? Right.... Are you a corrections officer or a cop? Most likely an overweight rent-a-cop working at the last blockbuster video in town. It's ok! You're a big man! You go yell at whoever you want snookems.
  13. I would like to join one of these "start-up" teams for " more than standard but less than true ranked WZ". Unfortunately I'm not elite but I think I'm pretty good, and learn fairly fast. That said I am also a thirty something physician, and between the hospital and real life, I can't spend hours watching videos, reading forums, and practicing daily as a previous poster alluded was required to play in ranked. This middle ground league sounds perfect though. I have a feeling that I am NOT in the minority when it comes to this, and I think it's great what the OP is trying to do. So if anyone needs a DPS vanguard for organized play, who is a little older (and without the twitch reflex of a 20 year old... so sad), I'm game. I can't promise the best consistency but i should make most reasonable schedules.
  14. ^ HaHaHa! I don't know if your serious but it made me LMAO!
