  1. Thank you. You are the only one who has responded in this thread that has actually taken the time to read my entire post and you actually understood what I was aiming at. Everyone else just chimed in with their one line trollish remarks after reading the title of the thread, and the first paragraph. It's all too easy for idiots hiding behind a keyboard to just crap all over an idea they haven't even read through. I wasn't complaining about companions, but rather grinding crew skill via companions...you'd almost think you'd have to go back and read my original post to understand that that was what I aiming for. Go figure. The idea I proposed about simply having having a tank companion, healer companion, and a dps companion was just a proposal for a simplification for crew skills, so you wouldn't have so many different companions to worry about tirelessly gaining affection with, I wasn't proposing the idea to simplify gameplay, just the number of companions for crew skills. Again, I appreciate you actually taking the time to read my entire post. I'm that way myself. I reserve judgement on someone's idea until I read through their entire post and understand their idea before I just cut off through the first paragraph and say something stupid that's not even related to what the intention of the post was. But then again, this is the internet, and the idiots far outweigh the civilized.
  2. Having a wide variety of companions isn't always useful, especially in regards to crew skills. Toggling back and forth between characters and having to manage my crew skills and keep up my affection with each one of my five companions on each toon can be pain stakingly tedious and overbearing, especially when trying to remember which type of gift each companion responds to best. Without internet cheat sheets this task would be impossible. I would propose that each class and AC get three primary companions: a tank companion, a healer companion, and a dps companion. The other two companions would be ship droids with maxed affection from the start. I know some would look at this as a nerf that only Blizzard might pull, but this isn't a matter of simply making something easier just to cut corners. This would actually be a smart nerf, because having to spend half your time sending your companions on gathering missions to get companion gifts which they may or may not succeed in even acquiring in the first place to gain affection with them so they're more likely to "crit" on a crafting mission when you're tirelessly spending resource after resource trying to learn a blue schematic can grind your last nerve, especially when doing this on multiple characters. I don't know, take that idea with a grain of salt. I'm not going to be one of the type of people who wanted everything easier in WoW two years ago and then complained when Cataclysm came out and everything was ruined. Grinding crafting skills is just a small nuance that can cause headaches at times, and while I wouldn't call for a complete reform of the system, there has to be some way to "tweak" it so it's not so pain stakingly nerve grinding and disheartening. When I use the word 'disheartening,' I just mean that no matter how many companions I have out on gathering missions or on crafting missions trying to crit for blue schematics, I just always feel like I'm behind, and even when I finally do get that occasional blue schematic to pop, I have to stop what I'm doing, go collect some grade 4 gemstones or silk, or precious stones which take my companions 45 mins., and they're not even guaranteed to come back with anything. Do I sound like a complainer? I really don't want to seem that way. I've always hated that kind of mmo'er: the kind who can't leave well enough alone and who always wants things easier; that's obviously why WoW became a child's game and Blizzard started marketing to seven year olds and soccer moms. I just don't want to be lumped in that category.
  3. For my fps to go back up from < 5 after the last patch and for Bioware to at least acknowledge one of my tickets. THAT WOULD BE A REALLY COOL IN GAME FEATURE.
  4. Friendly heads up that it's kind of annoying when you exit a fp, and leave the group, and your companion is still locked out and you have to either send your companion to rejoin you or summon another companion before the summon companion tab becomes available for your main companion.
  5. I love to pvp in this game and for the most part, I am satisfied with pvp in SWTOR. I honestly don't have a great deal of complaints about it, except for the endless cc. I understand that unlike in other mmo's, the dev's decided to give every class a cc and a cc break. I cannot stress how infuriating it is to be cc'd while your cc break is on cd, only to have your cc broke by taking damage, and then be cc'd again, and take more damage until you're ultimately killed. This is similar to the dynamic of rogues in WoW, when they would unstealth from behind you, cc you, and just literally just gnaw away at your health until you died. I don't mind dying, it's a natural, every day mechanic of pvp. What frustrates me is being cc'd, and not having a milisecond to defend myself or even get one attack in on anyone. It leaves you with the feeling of being completely exposed and completely helpless, and moreover, it flat out p.isses you off. I don't know if there's something that can be done like a 1 second cd in between each cc where you can't be cc'd again in that second, but I would propose an idea like that. This isn't a deal breaker for me, I'm not going to stop pvp'ing because of this, I just wanted to bring this to someone's attention.
  6. Way too often I find myself getting stuck in the scenery, ie. jumping for datacrons, using my speeder, etc., and /stuck does NOT work. In fact, come to think of it, I can only recall one instance where /stuck has ever actually worked. When I type /stuck, it tells me to use quick travel, except when I try to use quick travel, it says that I'm moving. So I have to log off for about an hour and wait for everything to correct itself. This is a really crappy graphical error with the scenery, and it happens entirely way too often. Why should I get stuck running across a boulder?
  7. If I had to point to one thing about SWTOR that I honestly don't like, it would have to be the fleet. I understand it's Star Wars is a space themed universe, hence the space station fleet, but sitting around in a tiny circular fleet can be boring. With Warcraft, you had a bunch of capital cities, and in the main ones like Orgrimmar, and Stormwind, you could practically get lost. The fleet feels stuffy and monotonous, and all you do is literally drive around in circles on your speeder. Some variety would be nice.
  8. I'm at a distinct loss here. There is and has always been the option to turn off general chat, but you'd rather see it removed altogether...someone clarify the logic behind this to me. I guess I'll just never understand the people who just park their speeder on the fleet and just click ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, ignore, and then complain that there's only so much room in their ignore box. How hard is it to turn general chat off? If I don't like a book I'm reading, am I going to continue to read the book anyways and just go on some online forums and complain about the book? No, BECAUSE THAT WOULD SEEM KIND OF STUPID. I would stop reading the book. Maybe that's just me though.
  9. Yeah. BioWare legitimately doesn't know what the f*** they're doing and are an epic fail mmo company. The game is how old? Eight months? If I hear one more "I'm glad they're doing this, because at least they're fixing things!" Think about that statement right there: if BioWare is "fixing" things, why are they shuttind down twice a week and ripping off their West Coast customers? That's right, we're not allowed to complain; we should all either bend over and take it, or just leave, am I correct?
  10. I'm not going to complain, I'm not going to insult BioWare's glaring ineptitude, all I am going to do is calmly state that with each week that you perform two maintenance shutdowns, you are pushing me more and more out the door, and back towards Warcraft(something I though I'd never hear myself say.) Do you honestly want to be remembered as the one year wonder mmo company?
  11. OH YEAH!!!! That was the WAY to do it! He died in just a few attacks, he was SO fried!!!
  12. I know this might seem trivial, especially seeing as how BioWare doesn't even check these suggestion threads, but more original Star Wars music would help the overall "ambience" of the game. There's a few Star Wars riffs that go off into generic orchestral music, but more original Star Wars music from the movie, especially during combat would go a long ways in setting this mmo apart and living up to it's billing as a Star Wars mmo.
  13. I've been having a lot of trouble recently with the last boss in hard mode Esseles Vokk. On more than once occasion, myself and others have been forced to quit the group at the last boss because it is seemingly impossible to down him. His lightning cast seems to be bugged. When he marks a spot on the floor with purple and you immediately run out of it, it still seems to hit you even after you're ten feet away from it, often one shotting you in the process. Being a fresh 50, I understand a lot of the problem is a lack of dps and not downing him before his incredibly short enrage timer. The one shot saber tosses I can understand, but the lightning strikes that hit you when you're on the other side of the room are down right demoralizing and have caused wipe after wipe and many groups to simply give up right before the completion of the hard mode. This should be fixed. This is a serious lack of effort on your guy's part, and it's literally making it impossible for newly 50 republic players to get their feet wet and start grinding out some tionese tokens and crystals. You overlooked the Tatooine balloon and basically said "screw you" to the datacron collectors who are still at it seven months later, but letting this bug go unaddressed is just irresponsible and genuinely negligent of your customers.
  14. Admit to EA you guys have absolutely no idea what you're doing(somehow, I think they already know), fire all your staff, and start over with people with actual knowledge about how to run an mmo company instead of just putting out want ads in the local newspaper. I think the latter might be where you guys went wrong in the first place.
  15. All this build up to FINALLY put in a group finder, the MAIN thing that people wanted, and one of the main things that people criticized SWTOR for not having from the very beginning, you finally put one in...and sure enough...IT'S BUGGED? ARE YOU KIDDING? I'm leveling a 44 sentinel. My daily is for Colicoid or Red Reaper...and the only fp it will let me queue for is Maelstrom Prison, a fp that I completed over five levels ago and will yield me no xp or valuable loot. For real? You built this patch up for months. This was supposed to prove all the nay-sayers wrong. This was supposed to finally give your customers what they wanted...and it doesn't work? I'm going to stop here, because I could really get nasty with BioWare, but that would make ME look like the idiot for paying for a product that I'm unsatisfied with. What good is a button that doesn't work?
