  1. All I'm reading is "I'm a dork who takes everything literally and I have nothing else to do except argue with people in forums"
  2. It's a great analogy because bad drivers annoy me just as much as bad players. Arguing about its legality is nerdy and missing the point.
  3. When I'm out driving and I'm at a red light and it turns green, I like to sit there and read the entire billboard because it's my right! So what if there are other drivers behind me honking at me? They need to settle down and remind themselves that this is just a morning commute and they should just take it easy and enjoy the ride. No need to be rude. Also, if I put on my turn signal, I don't HAVE to make a turn. I don't play by your rules - I'll turn if I want to and keep that turn signal blinking as long as I want. Anyone who objects to that is just being an unreasonable ***hole. If i want to go 5 under the limit in the passing lane, that's my right, dammit. I'm enjoying my journey and that's all that matters!
  4. If HK-51 were real, he'd deliver for Domino's cuz he would want you to eat hot efficiency.
  5. No, you don't NEED to do anything. But FPs and Ops obviously aren't passive encounters where you sit back alone and watch it like a movie . You're in there with other people where certain actions are expected of you and the natural inclination (at least for normal, thoughtful people) is to learn what those expectations are before you just go in there, decide to wing it and waste everyone's time. My point was that this latter attitude of "I'll play the way I want to play even if I'm bad and I won't take any criticism" can be just as rude as someone who calls you out for doing dumb things.
  6. In my experience, rude players are the exception and not the majority. Out of the 16 people in your Ops who are trying very hard to kill the boss despite your really really bad play, there might be 1 or 2 who'll call you out on your wearing alacrity as a tank or how you don't realize that you're standing in purple for several seconds, causing healers to use all of their resources to save your oblivious non-contributions. The vocal few tend to stick out in your memory more because they probably say something that hurts your feelies, bursts your little bubble and is....is true OMG. What I'm noticing more and more though are players who insist that "playing your own way" is the most important thing ever. This is just an excuse to not put any effort into learning their class and to do whatever they want no matter how it affects others that they group with. Someone in this thread even mentioned that looking up youtubes of fights (doing the bare minimum of research) is beneath them and that they don't have time (like 2 minutes) to view a fight before grouping up. I consider this just as rude.
  7. My toon gets back aches because her ***** are too big. CM needs to have breast reduction as a consumable.
  8. HM Czerka Meltdown on Duneclaw fight as a healer. I've healed it tons of times before, even with an undergeared tank who's never done it before but it's easy enough to explain so it's usually been no problem. This time, I get a tank who thinks he knows what he's doing. Before the pull, he starts off by going to the far right barrel/generator right away. Apparently, he thinks that the barrels turn green in a fixed pattern. I ask him why he's over there. He says "lol" in party chat and comes back over by us. He pulls and things are going well in the center. Then when sandstorm comes, he goes right back to that same far right barrel EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT LIT UP GREEN. I go in completely the opposite direction, towards the green barrel with nobody following me. DPS follows the clueless tank and the tank is still there by the nongreen barrel, just oblivious to everything going on, unaware of their health bars going down down down. I ask in party chat "does that barrel look green to you?". Tank responds "just heal and shut your big fat mouth". I leave group after the inevitable wipe.
  9. HM Cademimu on my merc healer last night. Tank has never done HM before but he's not horribly geared so there's hope and we tell him that we'll take our time and explain everything to him. One of the dps takes the initiative and starts to explain the first boss fight to the tank. It's the one with Officer Xander and the big droid that we have to trap. He tells everyone that you dps the droid first and try to trap Xander. I correct him and tell him that it's the COMPELTE OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE SAID. And he's like "oh yeah". So before we pull, I use a raid marker to show where I think the first trap is going to be and tell everyone to avoid that spot cuz then they'll be trapped inside. We pull and what does one of the dps do? He stands RIGHT ON THAT SPOT and get trapped and he says "oh sh*t" in party chat. He's frozen for a bit and I keep everyone alive while we kite the big droid around until the trapped dps gets unfrozen. So we continue to kite the droid around while we wait for another trap to appear, it pops up and the other dps RUNS RIGHT INTO IT. Again, I keep everyone up, kite the droid around, repeat. During this fiasco, the tank forgets about tanking Xander so Xander starts to shoot me because I have highest threat from healing everyone. When I get the opportunity, I say "hey, tank, can you...like tank the boss and stuff? He's shooting me". He listens and goes back on the boss. We eventually trap the droid and kill him and then the boss without a death in the group, which amazes me. The whole run was awkward and slow but the part that annoyed me the most was that the tank kept referring to me as "she" and "ms." because my character is female. *eye roll*
  10. So, how long did it take you to figure this out? Jeez, just cancel your sub already.
  11. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "pewpew" either. I'd be happy with a "moomoo" or the sound of one of the devs saying "pewpew". Just as long as it isn't just plain naked silence.
  12. I'm overgeared for HM Czerka Meltdown and it's still a bit of a challenge if the tank doesn't get to the barrels in time. Apply kolto shells on everyone in between sandstorms and as much as you can on the tank. When sandstorm comes, hit hydraulic override and get to the green barrel early so you have a little time to cast extra heals rather than lagging behind and relying on your instant heals. When the group is in range, drop a kolto missile (they don't have to be on top of each other, just within a reasonable range) and hit supercharged gas ASAP (gives everyone extra armor) before rampage. Spam kolto missle on cooldown after that. Then when sandstorm/rampage is over and the group is making their way back to the center, do your best to get everyone topped off again. Apply kolto shells on everyone, get your supercharged gas stacks built back up. repeat.
  13. It sounds like you're new to MMORPGs in general. Pulling - when you initiate a fight with a mob or pack of mobs. Aggro - short for aggravate. It's like pulling (see above) but it's when you do it accidentally (like by walking too close to a group of mobs). Threat - the perceived danger that you pose to mobs. The more damage you do or the more heals you put out, the more threat you will have and that will attract the mobs to you. As a dps, you don't want to be higher than the tank with threat because then the bosses/mobs will start beating on you. Tanks have special abilities that increase their threat even though they don't do as much damage as dps. Taunt - tanks have this ability. It's like when tanks yell at the mobs and say "hey, over here". Killing weakest to strongest - you do this because the weakest are easiest to kill and the sooner you have less of them shooting at you, the better. But, as someone mentioned already, this kill order can change depending on the fight. AOE - area of effect. It's a damage or heal ability that affects an area on the ground (therefore damaging or healing multiple targets standing in that area) and you usually target this area with a targeting circle that you place by clicking. CC - crowd control. It's an ability (the name and type of cc ability differs depending on what class you play) that puts the mob to sleep or suspends them temporarily. It keeps them out of the fight for a little bit while the group takes care of his friends first. The CC can be broken easily when someone damages them which is why using an AOE ability near them is not recommended because you can accidentally prematurely break the CC. CC is normally used when you're faced with a large group or a group where there are multiple elite mobs. Some mobs are CC-able and some are resistant to it. That's all I could think of for now.
  14. We were the weird ones this time. Me (healer), guildy and friend (both dps) grouped up and queued in gf to find a tank for a HM FP and we get Athiss. Before our queue popped, I told the other two to start pulling groups when we got in cuz otherwise I'd be bored. We knew the tank would get pissed but it is what it is. So dps friend starts pulling groups before I even have time to buff myself and says in group chat "we don't have much time, hurry!" which made me laugh. He was out of range of me and almost died but I got there just in time to save him. Tank just loaded into the instance and had no idea what was going on. He saw us pulling groups left and right without him, didn't say a word and quit the group which made me laugh even more. We expected as much. I got out my Blizz (who's decently geared) and we finished the instance with no problems except for Blizz dying a couple of times (I should've had him follow me when the fire balls from the last boss focused on him). Pffft who needs a tank anyway?
