  1. Currently on Republic side. I went into Group Finder and queue'd for Veteran Flashpoints. After the initial conversation with Aygo, we took the elevator and everyone clicked on the shuttle door that starts the cutscene, showing the shuttle flying to KDY to start the FP. However, once the cutscene ends, it places us back in the same area we were before. We tried to click on the shuttle again and the exact same scenario would happen. The cutscene would completely play out and we'd be placed back where we were before. It was pretty clear that the cutscene had completely played out and did not end abruptly. So no one was hitting Esc to cancel the cutscene intentionally. We even spawned in different areas of the room than when we clicked on the door. So we were clearly ported from that room and back into it.

    ESO v. FFXIV

I only played FFXIV for a bit (I'd love to keep playing it. I'm just not 100% ready to give up on my local community) so I never got to try the PvP since it's mostly endgame. From what I've heard from other people that played it, most of them think the PvP is pretty weak (though I'm not sure if this is just because most MMOs feel that way about their PvP). They did have some cool features though that I wish I'd see more often, such as PvP-only abilities. One of the modes also has role restrictions so the teams are more evenly set up. It's also regularly updated. It seems like every time I check the game every few months, they've added a new mode or feature in their PvP. With that said, it's not an MMO that you get for the PvP from what I'm told.
  3. I think the idea behind the cape in the Smuggler outfits was that it originally was mostly for endgame Smuggler gear. Where by that point in the story, you're considered a pretty big deal in the Republic so you're now looking the part. And if you're not a big deal in the Republic, you're now a crime lord. Again, looking the part. Nothing in Star Wars is meant to be practical or logical anyway. My Sith currently has a cape. Just because I decided when I first made him that my Jedi was going to have a robe and my Sith was going to have a cape. [Edit:] *Sigh* I just realized that this thread is several years old and someone necro'd it. -_-
  4. Pretty sure that class balance had to have existed in the first place in order to be destroyed.
  5. Just out of curiosity, what have you guys been using for utilities? Particularly at Legendary tier. I figure at this point that Persistent Chill/Piercing Chill is pretty much a given. For the second utlity, I originally had Unyielding Justice/Extending Roar because having another ranged attack seemed useful but Whirling Blade/Hew seems to make it pretty redundant, especially when we already have so many appealing utilities. It used to be commonplace to take Daunting Presence/Intimidating Presence because of the interrupt buff and the reflect was just a bonus. I'm also now curious about this Thwart/Reckoning utility because of the added bonus of a damage buff on top of helping an ally, but I haven't yet decided if it's worth the extra GCD or if it's solely for helping allies (in which case, Jedi Warden/Thrown Gauntlet becomes appealing).
  6. I think that's a big factor in why I really like the new animation too. It looks like a less telegraphed quick flurry of strikes. If it was another 3 second channelled attack and my character remained flipping in the air for 2 and half seconds, I probably wouldn't like it as much.
  7. I seem to be in the minority but I love the new animation. At least for the Guardian. The new one makes the fights seem super fast paced, especially in a PvP duel. It actually feels like a lightsaber fight. I was always mixed about the old animation for Blade Dance. The wind-up slash looked cool but I've always hated the whole "Turn your complete body around to do a weak backstab" animation that you see in movies. That one's also super fake-y and unrealistic but it triggers me because it's both unrealistic and just looks super awkward. At least the flip is quick and looks cool. The Jugg version does look a little more awkward though. Something about it seems off and I'm not sure what it is. I think it might have to do with how they look when they swing the saber horizontally with one hand.
  8. Accuracy stim is better because it also grants a boost in Crit which is considered better than Mastery or Power. So if you gear yourself to the point that the Accuracy stim gives you just the right amount of Accuracy that you need, you'll see better results than if you used the Mastery stim. Mastery stim could be better for PvP but this guide is strictly intended for PvE.
  9. This. When I first heard about the change to the ability, I thought that we were going to struggle to find fillers. I'm surprised at how well the spec flows. I'm not at a level where I can comment on how viable the spec is performance wise. But I definitely feel like this is potentially the most fun the spec has ever felt.
  10. I'm just curious. What's the reasoning for doing Ravage before Vengeful Slam in that opener? Wouldn't it be the other way around? The reason I'm asking is because Vengeful Slam has an actual cooldown where Ravage is only affected by Shatter. Or does it not really matter?
  11. I actually really like the animation. Though I'm thinking of the Blade Barrage version. It's something that I can picture my Jedi doing. I always had little irks with the animations for Master Strike and Ravage anyway (I never liked the "turn your body around and do a backstab" thing that Master Strike does). The "idea" of it is a step in the right direction since we no longer have to worry about standing still for 2.5 seconds as melee combatants. It's just going to be a matter of how it balances out as a whole.
  12. Yep. Same problem here too. I have the option of rolling back the drivers but it leaves me unable to play the BF1 beta so I have to basically choose between flickering textures in SWTOR or missing out on the BF1 beta. To be honest though, with how much of the buggy mess the BF1 beta currently is, I think I know what choice I'm going to make.
  13. Gotta love people calling for nerfs to classes that don't affect them in any way.
  14. Go Vigilance. It's the more straightforward of the two DPS specs to pick up IMO, has fewer buttons to press and while it's a sustained spec, it's bursty enough for leveling. Plus it has the coolest animations.
  15. Gunnery Commando/Arsenal Mercenary followed by Sharpshooter Gunslinger/Marksmanship Sniper. The former is simpler while the latter is a tad less simpler but more rewarding. There's a few other classes that have simple rotations as well but those two have the benefit of having simple rotations and are easy to perform with in an Ops setting.
