  1. I think they did get rid of (or at least greatly reduce) their QA department. This game was insanely stable at release. Sure, it had bugs, but it didn't have 30-second lag every time you moved an item in your inventory (like WoW), or hundreds of un-planned outages the point that they had to extend peoples subscriptions for free (like WoW). I really like this game, but it feels like the team running it is under-staffed for the last few years. Not enough people in the feature dev team to build new content, not enough voice actors to do cutscenes for the recruitment sidequests, no new raids, etc., and when we do get new content it was under-tested. The quality just isn't there anymore. I've worked at SaaS projects as they were decommissioned, and that's sure what this feels like. I really like this game and hope I'm wrong, but there's just not enough here anymore to keep me playing.
  2. Is anyone getting accounts banned/locked for scams like this? I just bought an item that I thought was priced 4,320.101 per unit only to find out it was really 4,320,101 per unit. I opened an in-game support ticket (no reply yet) and called the support line (told to wait for the in-game ticket response). If this isn't a considered a scam / TOS violation, I'll probably join the darkside and try to sell it for 4,310,201 to get some of my money back. Sure seems dirty though, but I'm not happy with loosing 4 million credits.
  3. Are you sure? I've got 220 crit rating, which the game is saying is +4.20% crit chance. From that formula: highlighting what is about to change 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( CritRating / 55 ) / 0.9 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( 420 / 55 ) / 0.9 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( ( 7.6363636 ) / 0.9 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( 0.01 / 0.3 ) )^( 8.48484848 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - ( 1 - ( .0333333333 ) )^( 8.48484848 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - ( .96666666666 )^( 8.48484848 ) ) 30 * ( 1 - (0.75002440) ) 30 * ( .2499756 ) 7.49 Is my math off somewhere? I'm looking for numbers for 279 crit, 240 crit, 220 crit, 149 crit, 110 crit, and 39 crit rating.
  4. Can anyone share the current crit rate to crit percent bonus formula? Currently I'm parsing 3047 with 220 crit rating (Oriconian Ear+Implant for +4.2% crit chance from crit rating) and trying to figure out what to buy with a Dread Forged implant token. If the math I've been doing is right, dropping 110 crit rating for 130 power should increase my parse to 3051 (0.151% increase), but that's so far within the margin of RNG to be insignificant. I'm trying to get better insight.
  5. Currently I'm running four 72 set Armorings, a 72 barrel, and everything else 78's. All numbers are with full buffs. For Mods: 7x +Pwr 2x +Crit For Enhancements: 3x +Pwr, +Surge 2x +Pwr, +Accuracy 1x +Crit, +Accuracy 1x +Crit, +Surge Crystals are both +Pwr. Ear is Oriconian (+Crit, +Surge). Implants are Oriconian (+Crit, +Acc) and Dread Forged (+Pwr, +Acc). ------------ That gives me a total of 3641 Aim 943 Power 470 Accuracy (100.43%) 436 Crit (30.96% in Gunnery, 35.96% in Assault) 470 Surge (72.96%) 0 Alacrity ------------ The accuracy is a little high, but if I pull out any Accuracy piece I'd end up with way too low accuracy. I'm thinking I should buy the Boltmaster Helm (Power Mod, Crit+Accuracy enhance) and the Boltmaster Gloves (Power Mod, Power+Surge enhance). After pulling the mods and enhancements from that, I'd be trading 216 crit for 216 power. The result would be a total of 220 Crit and 1159 Power. Does this seam reasonable?
  6. All of the other Rakata craftables drop in raids, and better gear can be had by grinding a 4-man instances for BH comms. If Rakata stims start dropping in EV HM or KP HM, I'd be a really happy armormech.
  7. Pretty much. Assault spec isn't bad. Against an equally skilled player, you at least have a chance. Gunnery spec against a player with half a brain (and an interrupt) blows.
  8. I'll probably be unsubscribed before F2P goes live. I've played one other MMO (Star Trek Online) that went from a monthly subscription (w/ cash shop of cosmetic-only items) into a full F2P game. In STO, they started charging players money to get the loot that they earn in game. Other than items in the cash shop, the only content that's been added was five poorly-written single player quests. **** that. I was planning to quit in March, but several of my real-life friends decided to buy the game around that time. All but one of them has quit, and I haven't seen that guy login in the last two weeks. I'll probably be gone by the end of my current month's subscription. There just isn't any reason to stick around.
  9. I did the exact opposite. Rakata chest + War Hero helm + color match. I'm stuck with the butt flap, but at least I don't have that terrible helm. The Rakata/Columi/Tionese helms just look kind of, um, well, I'm not sure I can say what they look like due to the terms of use.
  10. This would have been a useful post 2-3 years ago when this game was being designed. Making major changes to a production game is a seriously bad idea.
  11. I'm a commando running full battlemaster plus five pieces of augmented war hero. Gunnery spec. My buddy is a guardian with a mix of centurion/champion gear with one piece of battlemaster. Tanking spec. Duel - Leap - Kick - Hilt strike - Force stasis - Kick - Awe Jedi health: 97% Commando health: 0% This just can't be right.
  12. They also said they were going to clone WoW. And even the stuff the OP's talking about is "themepark". Run up to someone and spam 1 space 1 space 1 space 1 space 1 space 1 is no better than "Go kill X of Y". Star Trek online tried doing the kind of thing that's discussed in the first post, and it turned into "run up to the NPC and hit 'F' (the activate button) repeatedly.
  13. It's taken me a little under 7 days /played to rech level 50 on both of my 50s (Merc+Commando). I did see a couple guys at level 50 during the pre-release period just prior to release. They had to have been going all out to accomplish that.
  14. I agree. The v1.2 item changes are an improvement over the earlier stuff, but they didn't go far enough.
