  1. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is both a success and failure. Link: http://nypost.com/2016/01/06/the-force-awakens-is-actually-in-21st-place/ "The Force Awakens" has sold less tickets than "Star Wars: A New Hope". While the movie is an economic success, due to inflation, "The Force Awakens" is an overall ticket sales failure. If I am reading between the lines correctly, "Star Wars" is now on its way to a hiatus. I kind of thought something was weird. I could not figure out why everything felt awkward. "Star Wars" has become too overexposed. As I was watching "The Force Awakens", I felt as though the magic had vanished. I am normally able to sense when a franchise is in trouble. I guess I was right.
  2. Regardless about what Disney and LucasFilms desires, each fan has the freedom and liberty to pick and choose. Lucas once considered Timothy Zhan's work as canon. *shurgs* Timothy Zhan, while under George's instructions, created the Skywalker/Solo family tree. Even though Disney is now in control, what they consider canon is not law. You cannot get arrested for being creatively expressive. I personally think people are afraid to read books. Since some people are not willing to read, they are not able to go beyond the movies. Reading "Star Wars: Legends" is similar to going to college. As a result of being exposed to different subjects, students become more aware of the world. People who are worldly can intellectually approach a subject from different angles. Religious fundamentalist and "Star Wars" movie purists are the same. Narrow minded, limited in creative thinking, lack of analytical thinking, lack of an imagination, lack of exposure, etc... Science, philosophy, and religion can exist in the same universe; however, the way they connect is through personal interpretation. As far as I am concerned, the movie and expanded universe should reside in two different worlds. Disney's BIGGEST mistake was to merge both worlds. Disney should have just kept their mouths shut. If you limit your self to the movies, you might as well go out and promote: book burning, art banning, censorship, politically correctness, etc... Communism/Socialism sucks. I personally love novels by Timothy Zhan and Drew Karpyshyn. People need to become free thinkers and creatively expressive. I could careless about what Disney thinks. Do you allow Disney to pick what books you read? Do you allow Disney to pick what clothes you wear? Do you allow Disney to pick the color of your car? Do you allow Disney to tell you how to style your hair? Do you allow Disney to control what games you play? Get a life folks. Use your damn imagination. "Star Wars" is a franchise based upon a 'fictional' world, which does not exist in real life.
  3. "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" had music and moments, which "Knights of the Fallen Empire" and "The Old Republic" could never repeat. Memory Lane: Link: Link: Link: Link: Link: I would love to see a modernization of "Knights of the Old Republic".
  4. Yeah, I have already decided it is time for a small break. Even though I started this account in 2013, I ended up only staying for about a month. I came back about three months ago. After playing through the new expansion, I have decided that it is not enough to sustain my attention. I will most likely sign out for about a year or two. BioWare is going to drag "Knights of the Fallen Empire" out for about a year. I don't want to be spoon-fed. I just want to move onto something else. "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" had a far superior story.
  5. After the success of "Dragon Age: Origins", BioWare started to turn all of their games into movies. BioWare has streamlined the whole rpg experience. Overpowering healers are not apart of the problem. Did you happen to notice that there is virtually no skill points allocating? Players cannot put points towards stealth, healing, armor, strength, etc... Its all automatic. Are you still playing coin operated games or Nintendo? Roleplaying games are not the same as first-person-shooters.
  6. Do you know how many people don't understand that logic? Consumer forums give players a tool, which they can use to voice concerns. If BioWare does not respond to a consumer's concerns, the customer has a right to walk away. Its really that simple.
  7. So, what you are saying is that certain opinions should be censored, so that a specific type of opinion is promoted? If someone has a different opinion, the individual's post should be removed and censored, right? Other words, we as a society should ban certain books, words, and belief systems, so that a specific way of life is preserved, right? Are you a communist? In order to gain access to these forums, you need to 'purchase' a subscription, correct? Consumer laws are still protected under the constitution. BioWare established these 'public' forums for the consumer. When we walk down the street, while offline, we don't have signs that say, "safe-opinion zone here".
  8. Forum rules do not override constitutional law. Forum rules do not apply to everyday life. If you are using the forum rules to fight off an argument, you are hiding behind a false set of ideologies. Consumers are protected by government based laws. Your approach is flawed and illogical. We are conversing on a consumer platform, which is used to 'talk about the game'. Consumer feedback fits that criteria. Could you imagine walking around in real-life saying, "this is my safe-zone, your opinion is not valid'? It would be a violation of the constitution.
  9. "SWTOR's" forums are technically consumer based. Prior to the rise of online forums, consumers used to: (1) complain to customer service, (2) write letters to corporate offices, or (3) just walk away. Unlike the customer service methods of the 20th century, the 21st century versions include online forums. As you had previously pointed out, the consequential outcome results in consumer versus consumer debates. Within a certain point of view, each person's perspective is correct. Consumer forums opened a door, which many people did not know existed. We are all individually different. We each have a unique vision of life. Using forums to communicate with consumers can have good and bad consequences. Are the positive posters correct? Yes, from their point of view. Are the negative posters correct? Yes, from their point of view. Are consumers responsible for confronting other consumers? No. BioWare should be dealing with the concerns of consumers. Players should not be interfering with the grievances of other players. If another consumer broke into my call to customer service, I would immediately contact the local District Attorney's office. Consumer advocacy groups would need to be called, so they can protect the rights of the customer. MMO/MMORPGs that deal with micro-transactions and the Free-to-Play model should technically be investigated for: price gouging, fraud, and ethics issues. I personally believe the MMO/MMORPG model needs to be government regulated. Since children also play "Star Wars" based games, the government needs to protect them from being exploited or manipulated. While many people only see the surface, the stuff that hides below it can be complicated. BioWare should be addressing consumer complaints. Consumers should not be confronting the issues of other consumers. BioWare likes to hide behind social groups, political stances, and supporters, so they can blunt the impact of any negative feedback. Instead of admitting that something is wrong, BioWare has historically and publicly blamed consumers. Someone from the consumer protections agencies, within the US, really needs to get involved. MMO/MMORPGs use micro-transactions that are similar to 'fantasy football gambling'. Random lock-box drops could very well be illegal. Each state's attorney general should be investigating MMO/MMORPGs for a wide veriety of reasons.
  10. BioWare, prior to being sold to EA, created some of the best games in the world. After BioWare was sold to Electronic Arts, the first couple of years were fantastic. "Dragon Age: Origins", "Dragon Age: Awakens", and "Mass Effect" were exceptional games. Once the original founders had left, while also the departure of some of the writers, the quality of BioWare's games started to drastically decline. BioWare/EA, as the company is now known as, started to inject real worlds politics, so they can accuse fans of certain game failures. If the players were at fault, "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Knights of the Old republic" would not have been successful. BioWare/EA has never stepped up to admit fault. BioWare, specifically those from Black Isle Studio, consisted of exceptionally talented individuals. "Star Wars: the Old Republic" has some really nice class stories, which you can use to level up to fifty-five. BioWare did a great job in creating a wide range of class missions. So, what happened? Since the golden days of BioWare, the push for a constant stream of money replaced quality. "Knights of the Fallen Empire" does have some interesting plot points; however, the overall quality of the writing is boring and predictable. BioWare lost their proverbial spark. Some of the problem is that BioWare/EA wants to make movies. "Dragon Age II". "Dragon Age: Inquisition", and "SW: the Old Republic" are connected to franchises, which were built upon dynamic roleplaying mechanics. People who love old-school roleplaying games also like: (1) character customization, (2) allocating points towards different skills, (3) modding, (4) occasional console cheats, (3) epic world stories, (4) ability to control story outcomes, etc... "Dragon Age II". "Dragon Age: Inquisition", and "SW: the Old Republic" have been completely stripped of all the elements, which made roleplaying games the center of creative expression. If you do want to customize your characters, you now have to pony up some money. BioWare/EA has lost sight of the things that really mattered. Players, such as myself, hold BioWare up to high standards, for we know that this company can do great things. As a result of "Knights of the Fallen Empire", we lost allot of stuff that made this game great. We need: (1) more PvP warzones, (2) character customization options, (3) dialogue choices that 'really' matter, (4) romances that don't suddenly stop, (5) vendor items for below level 60 players, (6) free player character customization, (6) faster chapter releases, etc... "SW: the Old Republic" does not currently have anything substantial, which entices players to keep an active subscription. Everything has hit a very boring stand-still. All these people complaining about 'negativity' are standing in the crossfire.
  11. Robert Kennedy lost an election, and his farther was practically a criminal.
  12. rofl... You opened a thread about the subject earlier. I think you might be too socially sensitive. Oh, wait. I have to add some color to my text, for I want people to think I am important.
  13. Players should have had the ability to exile, kill, or reject Koth. "My ship!" - Koth *pc stabs his chest with a lightsaber* "I speak their language" - Koth *pc force chokes him* *Koth betrays everyone's trust* *pc cuts his head off with a lightsaber* "He did right by Zakuul" ~ Koth *pc places a long distance holo-call to the past* *Ebon Hawke arrives to the scene* *ship's ramp opens to the ground* *Carth Onasi strolls out of the ship* *Carth walks over to Koth and shoots him* "They say the Force can do terrible things to a mind. It can wipe away your memories and destroy your very identity." - Carth Onasi, Knights of the Old Republic
  14. Within the tradition of the holiday season, let me paraphrase: People need to relax. Its just a game. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year folks. Enjoy the holidays.
