  1. Sadly, no. Until the Weapon Designer slot (or whatever it's called) makes it to live servers, the choice is to use the moddable main hand weapon of choice (likely a Cartel Market weapon) with, at best, 306 rated stats. Or, to use the static stat main hand weapon one acquires in 7.0 that will have a better than 306 rating.
  2. Reading through that Dev post, I get the impression that BW is hearing player concerns, but not listening to them. As a solo player at this time with an army of alts, I see little incentive to continue to subscribe, and nothing to be excited about with 7.0. Except for some new hair styles? That's it for me with 7.0 at this point. Nothing to counter the, for me, huge downside of being what BW seems to consider a "less than player" as a solo player. Minor adaptions to an inherently bad gearing system doesn't change it from being a bad gearing system. Static stat gear and for solo players RNG -- which BW is notoriously bad at. Don't even get me started on 7.0's convoluted, Currency tab cluttering, new currencies. And, other changes I've mentioned in other posts about the discouraging 7.0 changes. I don't think I'll be continuing my subscription after it runs out. Will I abandon SWTOR? Probably not. Based on upcoming changes, if I play SWTOR it will be as Preferred. I'll miss SWTOR, but not enough to wade through the mess of 7.0.
  3. Happy 10 years anniversary to SWTOR, and happy one year anniversary to you, Jackie Ko! I still remember the feeling of amazement when the splash screen cleared on my first character. A Smuggler, with SWTOR as the first MMO I played. Seeing the character I'd just created step out of her ship and have a conversation with (what I didn't know what to call at the time, lol) NPCs was incredible. I didn't think anything could top that, until the convo ended and I stepped out on to Ord Mantell. I still feel the awe of not just looking at a Star Wars landscape, but being in it! My computer screen became a portal to another world; a Star Wars themed world. Wow. Ord Mantell is still my favorite planet. The music when the Smuggler gets her ship always reawakens that first moment of getting my very own personal starship. One that reminded me of the Millennium Falcon! I ran around and explored that ship for a long time. Nine years later, and I still remember all those marvelous feelings.
  4. Seasonal items will be available? Like, the beach themed decos? 75% off all Collection unlocks. Yes! Sales. Sales. Sales. Spaaace Barbie! Thanks for the update, Jackie Ko!
  5. Galactic Seasons is a periodic event that will repeat in the future. Galactic Season 1 ran from April 27 – September 28, 2021. Galactic Seasons 2 will start with 7.0's release. Swtorista has a good write-up about Galactic Seasons here. Of note: the Galactic Seasons vendor Jaleit Nall will carry the same items every Galactic Season on a rotating basis. Jaleit Nall has a few new (at the time of Galactic Seasons 1) items, but mostly carries past subscriber/event rewards. Like the companions Paxton Rall, Shae Vizla, Dahz Ranos, Nico Okarr. As well as some other past subscriber/event rewards. Players can earn Galactic Season points by logging in, but only during an active Galactic Season. The Paxton Rall companion was originally a subscriber reward. While the Cantina Crawl is doable by all players at any time, players get an achievement for doing the Cantina Crawl, not Paxton Rall as a companion. Darth Hexid is granted as a companion by completing the Feats of Strength Legacy achievement -- completing 40 group activities. The group activities can be PVE, PvP, or a mix of the two. With upcoming companion customizations, I'd be happy with one that tones down Hexid's glowing eyes. I like using her when I don't want to deal with or hear from class companions. But, man. In cutscenes her eyes look like they are about to shoot laser beams. Which could be cool, but is a bit distracting during cutscenes.
  6. Thank you for quickly posting this FAQ, Jackie Ko. I cannot imagine what caused the decision to not release 7.0 a week before it was expected. I think that whatever the issues, I applaud delaying 7.0 rather than releasing a dumpster fire just to hit a certain date. Running the SWTOR fall event of the Feast of Prosperity during winter seems like an odd choice. But, okay. Will there be a 50% off Collections Unlocks sale soon since there was not one during Black Friday this year?
  7. Thank you for posting this information, Keith Kanneg. I'm looking forward to the FAQ.
  8. I wouldn't mind this at all. Not changing with the color of color crystals was always an odd design choice to me.
  9. I agree that, "A solo-play subscriber pays the same amount exactly as a group-play subscriber, or one who plays a mix of those styles." I think that gets lost in play style discussions. The lack of Dev response (as far as I can find) to those solo players with concerns about 7.0 bothers me. It could mean Devs are working on something and, understandably, don't want to announce it beforehand. Or, it could be a Dev "whatever" non-response type of response. I hope we aren't returning to a situation where communication is initiated based on how many subs are dropped, rather than discourse between players and Devs.
  10. I have been thinking this same thing. I have an army of alts, and with 7.0 as a solo player there's little incentive for me to be continually subbed. There isn't just one thing about 7.0 changes, but taking all of the changes together. I agree. I think there are a couple of specs that could do with a little ability pruning, but I think that needed more of a light touch with hand trimmers, not a full on chop job with a power saw. I do enjoy replaying class stories, but slogging through fights -- no matter how easy they are -- with 7.0's slow granting of abilities isn't appealing to me. I've always loathed static stat gear. The idea of that being the best possible as a solo player isn't in the plus column for me. 7.0 has a lot of flash that I like, but no substance for my current solo play style. I'll see what's what when my current subscription time expires. I expect there to be some changes to 7.0; I'd be surprised if there aren't changes in the works already.
  11. BW: We are going to try and make players do what we want them to do ingame. Forget "play your way." We will give the bestest rewards to those who do what we want them to do. The rest of you? Lol, have some less than gear. As far as BiS gear, it is more difficult to take something away than to have never offered it. BW, you opened the door to every player, regardless of their preferred playstyle, being able to get BiS gear. Now, you want to close that door. Don't be surprised if there are some mightily unhappy players. Isn't every Weekly and Daily area mission currently available, based on a character's level and advancement? If an area isn't overrun with players, doesn't that indicate that players are less than thrilled with doing the missions in that area? And, how will that work for PvP Weeklies, especially with the mission only advancing with wins? Not generating as many credits in the game is one side of the problem. The other side is providing reusable, reasonably priced credits sinks. BW hasn't been all that great in pricing credit sinks. Mostly they tend to be priced so high, they may not be used by a lot of players. A credit sink isn't a credit sink if it's priced too high to be used by more than the wealthiest of the wealthy players. And, please don't just jack up the credit cost of items, as that is not an automatic credit sink. I'm thinking about how BW jacked up the cost of items on Felucia Stato. So, do stats show that more or fewer purchases are made from Stato since the price increases? Lol. I've encountered players who won't budge until another player engages a small pack of standard mobs. I would not be surprised if this results in mobs encounters becoming spectator sports, with players engaging for the tag at the last minute. Hopefully not, but I would not be surprised. This is great. Thank you. I don't think 7.0 is the doom and gloom often mentioned in places of SWTOR chat. I also don't think 7.0 is chock full of great ideas that are sure to please -- outside of Space Barbie improvements. Me? I'm an alto-holic currently using the solo player side of the Force. I like the Space Barbie changes. I don't like that my currently optimized gear will become weak sauce at level 76, and as long as I am a solo player I have zero chance of getting my stats back to where they are now. You aren't making me want to rage at 7.0, BW, but you really aren't making me excited about it either. I was hoping for something better than, "meh," for the ten year anniversary of SWTOR.
  12. I get what you're saying. The Dread Fortress and Dread Palace operations came out with the release of Oricon in 2013 (I think it was). Dread Fortress/Palace are the only times a storyline (Oricon) could only be completed by doing an operation, in this case two operations. BW did learn from this. Subsequent operations are tied to their relevant storylines, but not required in order to complete a playthrough of a storyline. I've seen, and supported, requests for a solo-mode version of DF/DP. Before anyone gets their lightsaber in a twist, I'm not supporting a solo-mode version that grants the same rewards as the current versions of DF/DP. I don't give a hoot if there is any credit/XP/Renown reward for a solo-mode of those operations. Nor would I support solo-mode versions of the rest of the operations as the story in those operations are not required to complete their related story arcs. It's about being able to complete the Oricon story on ones characters, as a solo player. When I experience a new area ingame, I'm 100% a cliche fanny-pack wearing, map carrying, camera hanging around my neck, tourist. I want to frequently stop to ooh, aw, and gawk. I want to ponder and savor my convo choices. All behaviors which do not go over well in a PuG. It is possible to hitch up with a guild or PuG run of DF/DP, but that isn't always feasible for some folks. Even finding a compatible guild or forming a like-minded group is not always doable. I think SWTOR does best supporting all playstyles. PVE, PvP, group, solo. I think a solo-mode version of DF/DP will have zero impact on those who prefer to group. And allow for completion of the Oricon arc for solo players.
  13. The vendor's (Jaleit Nall) available inventory rotates on a weekly basis. The Tauntaun Ram is in Group A. I don't know which group is available this week, but check the vendor to see when the Tauntaun Ram is next available. 14. There's a spot in the Republic Fleet Stronghold where the floor and walls disappear, leaving just the vastness of space. And, whatever decos I've placed. While I did wish that room in the Stronghold had a view, this is not what I meant. The floor and walls reappear when I move my character further into the room. 15. So true. Today I did the Iokath daily, "Powering Up the Weapons Factory." I started the mission with Influence 50 Nadia as my active companion, and ended it with Influence 1 Theron. I clicked the clickie, became a larcenous floating obelisk droid, became my character again, fought the angry standard droids, then fought the angry silver droids. I saw Theron after the fight, and figured he was with another player. Then I noticed Theron was tossing heals on my character. So I thought maybe another player joined in my combat. Then I noticed my active companion was now Theron, not Nadia. I was on a level 75 Shadow I skipped all of KotFE+ on, going straight to Ossus then Onslaught. I'd never had Theron as the active companion on that Shadow. Ya'll need to give Theron something to do other than popping up unexpectedly.
