  1. This They had ALOT to do in World of Warcraft. I'll be honest, it took quite a while to get to 60 if you didn't rush it (which back then many people didn't) and the content felt epic. You'd spent weeks progressing in MC until you'd have the gear to be able to clear it in a matter of hours. When AQ/BWL was out we used to clear MC in 50ish minutes. Was great fun - 40 people all working hard. To me that was how an MMO Should have been. Again I do love SWTOR but nothing will compare to the memories of Vanilla / TBC Raiding and gaming.
  2. Pretty sure you're wrong there. There was Azuragos - The Blue Dragon in Azshara (40 man World Raid Boss) / Kazzak in Blasted Lands (40 man World Raid Boss) along with UBRS which was a 15 man instance, Stratholme and scholomance which was a 10 man instance along with LBRS which was a 10 man. Also not forgetting Molten Core (40 man Raid Instance) which was out quite soon if not from launch, then Zul'Gurub the first 20 man to be introduced, BWL the next tier of raiding armour before you had AQ ect. AQ Provided the first "World Event" along with defending Moonglade and having fun slaughtering thousands of Bugs! Either way they had alot more to do and because the gear was obtained in such large groups it took you a lot longer to obtain the piece of gear that you needed. All in all, the game was far slower progressing and at the time I'd say even a little bit more difficult. But there's no point comparing SWTOR to WoW because they are so similar yet completely different. They've both got some great points and some bad points. Either way, I will always miss the days of Vanilla / TBC WoW.
  3. Not yet, and its close to being over 2000 posts in this thread (Including the previous thread before it reached the 1000 post cap) as this post is about to as well. It would be nice for an official comment at least regarding the issue, but they've got a lot of other things which would be classed as a top priority over this.
  4. Theres a difference between crying, and trying to actually do something. You say people are lazy if they want to just sit there and not reroll onto a healthy server? I'm sorry "Sir" but that is just silly logic. If you honestly want to do something useful for the community, help the dying servers, get people to move onto them, encourage new people to play them - give them benifits ect. So many things that could be done to help sort this problem out. I haven't been crying about this - because honestly I've given up caring now. Its gotten to the point that we are in the same position as we were last month and the month before. They won't say anything other than what they've said - and alot of people we know have accepted that. Like you said - people are unsubbing. In regards to realising the server is "dying" - we did. But when you have an active guild of 20-30 people all who have work and have a life - its impossible to try and get everyone to reroll when people don't have the time. Sure there are alot of people here who do just whine, cry ect - but all you are doing is a band-aid fix. If you want to help - help the dying communities, we all know server merges won't be here for ages (Despite it being quite easy to do if you know what you're doing). It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get to 50, to get your legacy (which has been made even harder to progress with the increase a few patches ago) - its the principle. We've chosen our server which was heavy/very heavy - its declined - And rerolling - effectivly RESTARTING the whole game because of a mistake bioware made along with the community asking for more isn't an option for alot of people. I mean brilliant - if you manage to get a few people who are willing to do it and join you in your little "project" - great - But don't come in here and start preaching about how everyone is lazy because they don't want to give up what they've been working on for the past 3+ Months. You've provided one "alternative" - But what you're posting about really isn't any different from these people who are "crying" - Some people here are actually trying to raise awareness, and are frustrated about the lack of communication between Bioware and the community regarding this matter. Anyway, Have fun on your server, and to those who choose to play there - But you have to realise - not everyone wants to do this, because like you said - the game is easy to get to 50 and a lot of people have made alts ect and become settled. And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't it you who said you rerolled onto another server after your server was dead - with a legacy level of 5-8 and not even level 50? If so - says a lot - if not my mistake Edit: Saw your above post and just lol'd. Was going to edit it in but thought what's the point, It would be like spelling out "idiot" to someone who didn't know how to read. Also its not a Community "OWN MERGE" its a Community "OWN REROLL".
  5. They've said that when transfers like that happen - your character with the highest legacy will be selected over the other legacy. So if Character X from server A had a legacy level of 32, and you wanted to move him to server B but that character only had a legacy level of 8, it would use the level 32 legacy.
  6. Uthar Wynn - Was a heavy populated server on launch, now its constantly at light status. Roughly about 300 people on the whole server at any one time @ prime time.
  7. And the best thing is, from what I've seen the first set of PvE armour you get doesn't come with any set bonuses. The second set doesn't even have any mods / armouring / enhancements in it (Bugged I'm presuming) and still no set bonuses Sad times are sad.
  8. Ill be honest mate.. that's not really a solution, its just encouraging all of the other servers to effectively "die", once you've pulled all the members out from it. Making one overly populated server isn't really the best idea. And to your comment on how "easy" it is to level to 50, yes it is easy, but its everything else such as money, legacy ect that takes time. Once you've gone over 5-6 million credits and level 32+ Legacy, you really really don't want to have to do it all over again. Nice try, but honestly - not the solution to the problem here my friend This is not the thread you are looking for.
  9. A lot of people have left Uthar Wynn to go and play there because we have but a handful of people left.
  10. Depends, it can say "look we're failing" or - Look we're taking the bull by the horns. We know theres a problem, we'll tackle it head on. Its causing more damage to their reputation than anything else. But Jobs are at stake so they wouldn't do it. As for the merge option - say there's x servers with x people on (all light servers) A new server is opened up for these servers to be transferred into. People operate on a first come, first serve basis for those who are active, who want to transfer and are keen to save their name. Have x days to do so, before those characters are moved too, and if your name / legacy has been taken - that's just how it goes. That way everyone has a fair chance, no server is being given any form of benefit above another server, and it deals with the problem servers. Not necessarily a solution, but its an idea that can be built upon. Either way, I know the problems that come with merges, but unless there is any real growth with the game, any incentives or benefits on playing on these servers to bring in the new players - chances are they will just continue to die.
  11. The problem is though these "new players" and the "miracle" patch 1.2 are really not going to help. These Light servers have a lack of players, okay 1.2 will be brought in x amount will return to that server because of resubs or what ever reason. This still won't be a huge amount (I can't be sure but Im going to guess from all of the people who have left my server to reroll onto another populated server that they will not be returning). Second : The new population and increase of players is great! BUT - and yes there's a but, they have NO "Benefits" or incentives for new players to start on these light populated servers. From personal experience those that have played any MMO for a long time will 9/10 times go for the heavy / standard option rather than the light choice. With this in mind, theres no incentives to invite people to the game, there is no incentive what so ever for people to re-populate the light servers and 1.2 is going to be great but its not going to be the "saver of the light realms". And this is exactly how I see it, and alot of other people would do so too - Join the more populated server for more fun. There are the occasional hermits who like to go onto the low pop servers but well thats a very small majority. After all this is a HUGE game and is an "MMO" despite the feeling of a ghost town on some servers. They have already started Manually pulling characters across to the PTS realm for 1.2 testing, I myself have had a character transferred across however they still don't seemed to have mastered the art of transferring legacy levels across. I am without a legacy level or surname, so lets hope they can get that fixed soon. And also yes, who knows - its good timing doing these "free" weekends and trials just before subs run out, I still don't believe the numbers which have been given out through numerous websites, they all seem to be quoting what someone has said. Not hard facts. Either way, they need to sort it out - Uthar Wynn EU PvP is dying and its sad to see GTN is almost dead now, with very limited choices of what you can buy.
  12. I've been transfered over to the PTS. It is done by hand. Also - Legacy levels and last name have disappeared So they can transfer your character, but they seem to be having a few issues with the Legacy levels.
  13. Alot of people have left Uthar Wynn EU PvP and gone over to Freedon Nadd. Seems to be the current trend with low populated EU servers.
