  1. I'm sure once I figure out how to actually start doing the GSI quests, yes. It'll be a huge resource. However, it doesn't tell you how to start the quests.....it just says: "Once you have started the Seeker Droid and Macrobinocular quests, you can immediately start the GSI dailies available from terminals (usually just outside the spaceport) in Alderaan, Hoth, Makeb, and Tatooine." Where do I get the Seeker Droid and Macrobinocular quests at? I can't find that info anywhere.....It's always "start these quests...." but never any indication of where to pick them up at..... I'm really going to be in the mood to go on a rampage of death and mayhem once I finally figure all this crap out..... The Myfness.....
  2. How do I start getting reputation? None of the missions show up for me on any of my characters, no matter their class or level.
  3. I can't seem to take the quests to get the rep to buy from the rep vendor in the first place, never mind the the right quests to get the right rep to unlock the dye schematics. I don't know where to start, there is no information on where to start getting the right quests to do unlock the right quests to go to the thing to talk to the guy about getting the right rep quests..... I need to know what is the very first step to start doing dailies, since I've never managed to do them, so that eventually in another couple of years I can maybe figure out how to get a bloody schematic. The GSI Dailies, for example.....I can't seem to access the widget so that I can get the boxes to show up, never mind give me the quests. What do I do to start getting GSI rep? The Myfness
  4. I like to craft all the things. I have seven crafter toons on my main server with max crafting skill. I'm regularly buying schematics off the GTN, I build things, I sell them, I build things I reverse engineer so that I can make better versions for my guildies and my alts. My Partner in Crime and I've just spent a very frustrating 30+ hours trying to find any useful information on how to get the fun dye colours, like Dark Red and Light Grey, or Dark Blue and Black, never mind an actually decent purple. My conclusion is that you can't. Supposedly, these dye schematics come through doing daily missions, which you can't take, even at level 65, because you didn't talk to the right guy, on the correct day, on a planet you can't access anymore, didn't spend a half billion credits on the widget to take to his friend in a war zone that's no longer active, and do the right mission (even though you did all the missions on the planet on that character because it was your first time through), to unlock all the other missions that give the access to the dye schematic that you have to have the special monies for to buy from the right rep vendors that don't exist anymore. As usual, In Game Help is a laughable misnomer, as it has no helpful information at all. Am I wrong? Am I missing better, newer information? Everything I've seen about this goes back to 2012, before we even had access to dyes.....Can someone please, for the love of little green dyed trees, tell me how I actually access the correct missions? Or at least point me at the correct information, since nothing I can find is correct? I want to make all the dyes, but at this point, can't. Even with my Artifice Skill level at 500 on two different toons, one a Light Side, and the other a Dark Side character, which is why I have 7 crafty-toons and not just 6. Mostly, I just want to make these colours to kit out my guildies versions of Havok Squad, so that they all have a similar colour scheme, in actually decent colours. Thanks in advance...... The Myfness....
  5. Anything is better than nothing. Nothing is stagnation, and stagnation is death. Just adding warzones and dogfights and ops and space battles is like adding breadcrumbs to meatloaf, it's filler. There needs to be an ever evolving agenda to really keep people interested, not just placated. If they don't want to do an Act IV, fine. Then they need to come up with something else that's story related. Even if it's a paid expansion.....Story is the egg in the meatloaf, it's what binds everything up, holds it together. Without the meat (The Theme/SW Universe) is just that, meat. Without it, I might as well be playing Tetris. Myfness.....
  6. While it would be great to get some new voices in the mix, it's a ton of work. You have to cast each race (17, including the faction unlocks), in each class (8), for each gender (2), for a grand total of (17x8x2=272 total voice actors, minus the 8 we have now =264). They have to all have the time to do the studio work, then the animation team has to match the lip movements to the rhythm and meter of the individual voice actors in each and every cut scene. And that's just what we've already got available to us, it's probably just not feasible to do in a retro-fit sort of fashion, amasing as it would be. However, I'd love a voice modulation option in character creation, one that helps to individualise the experience just that much more. For example, if I'm playing a Jedi Knight with the Size 3 body style (Superman, essentially), having the soft spoken voice doesn't always fit my vision of the character. I want a deeper voice, something with more gravitas. I'd love to be able to change the timbre of the voice, which is likely easier to do than have a different person entirely voicing. Myfness.....
  7. More story. Farming annoys the ever living daylights out of me. I know it entertains many, and that's great for them, but it's story that made me pretend to be a Jedi or a Smuggler as a kid, it's story that drew me to the Star Wars tabletop RPGs, it's story that's kept me around since beta, enticed me to pre-order in the first place. It's story that really makes a game shine for me. So there we are, Act IV. More story lines, more character development, more relationship development with the companions, maybe even the loss of one or two of them through either death or parting of ways. Maybe even some cross-character companion play, if it's well written it won't come off as hokey. Myfness......
  8. I was forcibly upgraded to WP8 this year after an incident with gravity murdered my WP7..... Having the option of having my Security Key on my phone would be fantastic, however..... Soon please? Myfness.....
  9. I'm hoping for an Act 4, myself. Continuing the storylines, progressing the relationships with the Companions, friendships, romance, rivalries....maybe even the loss of a Companion or two along the way. There are so very many things that could be done for the High Level Characters, but I hope they really consider doing something interesting for the lower level/starter toons. It's starting to feel like a chore to get a character off the starter worlds, the capitol worlds and the first few planets beyond them, because I've done it nearly every way possible, so very many times. There are hosts of possibilities on how to solve that problem, like offering to start a Character at Level 10, with a basic set of equipment and certain amount of starter money. And while there's something vaguely appealing in the "Veteran Status" option that DDO has, it always feels a little cheep and thrown together when I start a character that way, even though their interface for that process is pretty brilliant. It could be a Legacy Unlock thing. You can unlock doing that per class by finishing out Act 3....but they'll prolly make it a Coin buy if it ever gets implemented. I have no doubt that coding this would be easier than writing, producing and introducing my new class idea, but I think it would be a stopgap measure. Either way, I hope they do something.....
  10. Perhaps they could add a "Buy for Character Only" level, "Buy for Legacy Only level and a "Buy for Account" level to the Character Perks. The three options would allow people pick which one they're willing to spend their money on, and the flexibility would lend to some people picking the save up and buy it all at once, while others would still opt for the buy it on each character one purchase at a time. If the thing is say, 100 Coins for the Character only level, it could easily be 1000 Coins for the Legacy level, and 5000 Coins for the Account level. They'd still make plenty of money on the micro-transactions that way, and make loads of folks happy, because Players like it when they can pick which way is their way..... Myfness.....
  11. Well, at least for a little while, until we all play them to death in a couple of years or so.... Myfness....
  12. Even if they don't give us the options to wear helmets and hoods, I'd like to be able to put my lekku forward on my chest or wrapped around my neck, Bib Fortuna style. Unsupported lekku are the number one cause of Twi'lek visits to the chiropractor, as the weight of them causes the neck to work all the harder to keep from falling back. I'd also like to see options for different sizes of lekku in the character creation/appearance modification stations....Many races get different types of hair, after all but the Twi'lek only get one standard, boring size/shape of lekku.... Just a few thoughts.... Myfness....
  13. My Dear Devs, one and all.... It's been two years now, and I'm still subscribed, still playing this game on a fairly regular basis. In that time there have been many ups and downs, things I've been excited to see, changes I've worried over, and things that frustrated me to the point of logging out for the night. And having to re-spend my skill points I don't know how many times as things have been tweeked for what we all hope is the better. The Storylines of the Eight Classes are great, they're very well plotted, written, animated and performed. After two years though, the same story lines for starting characters, it starts getting a little tiresome. This is where most MMOs fall down, they don't really progress their storylines, their starting points, their over-arching, game wide plots. It's expensive to do all of that work, it's a lot of man hours in a host of departments. Days, nights, weekends, holidays lost. The biggest themes in the Star Wars Universe are The Fall and The Redemption. It's no small part in making Star Wars an attractive place to imagine oneself. These themes are timeless, and recur over and over again. A hero that's never been tempted is boring, a villain that's utterly lacking in humanity isn't compelling. To that end, I recommend that you create a set of new classes. Since the Fall and the Redemption are the interesting parts, they should totally be apart of the story line from the beginning. My recommended overall arc goes like this: Act One starts on Tython/Ord Mantell or Korriban/Hutta, there are New Missions, New Masters, New Employers, New Goals. The seeds of the Fall/Redemption should be planted here. Bad situations, worse choices, and moral dilemmas that leave a character spiraling away from their birth cultures. It culminates in that ultimate choice, give in to the Darkside or seek a better way in the Light. Act Two should begin with them in their new lives in either the Republic or the Empire, and the fall out from the chaos they've created for themselves. It should end deep in struggle, as the character is scrambling to prove themselves to their new faction. In the end, did they make the right choice for themselves? Like The Empire Strikes Back, it should end on a down note, full of self doubt. Act Three is the more established character succeeding and becoming the Hero to the faction they have chosen for themselves, eventually becoming integral to the struggle of either the Empire or the Republic. You might also consider adding new planets and moons, like Ryloth, Yavin IV, The Forest Moon of Endor, Bespin/Cloud City and Dantooine, either as locals for the new class quests, or for further expansion, should you choose to add and Act Four to the current class missions, which I would also recommend at some point. Here are a few ideas for new classes: Darkside/Fallen The Fallen Jedi (Knight/Consular) - The Darkside has many alluring traits, the lie of true power, the appearence of freedom, the ability to follow one's passions to the fullest extent of excess. And there's another side to Imperial life too, the seemingly overwhelming force, how can the Lightside and the Republic possibly stand against the tide? The Pirate - As likely to disable another ship and take it's cargo, as they are to simply bluff their way through blockades and con others out of their cargo in various spaceports, the Pirate answers to no one in particular and holds to no real Imperial agenda. The Coin rules their actions and the motto of "Do unto others before they do unto you" helps to hold their personality together. They might even feign working for the Republic on occasion to get their stolen cargo across the galaxy through the Republic's shipping lanes. Imperial Marine - When you were a Trooper, fighting against the advanced tech and troups of the Empire and hosts of Seperatists and Rebels, did you ever think you'd end up in Grey and Black? Defection can go both ways, as the tragic events of Havoc Squad have proven. But even swearing allegience to the Emperor, how can you possibly ever be trusted fully? Lighhtside/Redeemed The Enlightened Sith (Warrior/Inquisitor) - When the clouding of the Darkside is lifted, what kind of life can a Force wielder who survived the trials of Korriban find in the Republic? Will they turn to the Jedi Order, or will they live on the fringes trying to sort out what's morally right without guidance? The Skip Tracer - Essentially a Bounty Hunter who works for the Republic, hunting down lowlifes, criminals and traitors. Their lives are dangerous, often short and all too often glamourised to be way cooler than it actually is. Republic SIS - Intrigue, danger, secrets and the unknown fate of the Republic often lie in the hands of those who work in the shadows. Perhaps before this less than luxurious gig you were Imperial Intelligence, and now you must always strive to prove yourself a better person than your past, knowing that there will always be those that never trust you, no matter how hard you try to wipe that Drommund Kaas accent from your voice. However, if this is untenable, then perhaps at the end of Acts One and Two, there is a choice that could be made, Fall/Redeem or Stay the Course. It still means writing a mess of new missions, getting the Voice actors to come and record new lines, animating a slew of cut scenes and animations and fights, coming up with mish-mashed skill trees and powers and quirks to help make the classes unique and not just shadows of the original eight classes. To me it seems easier to add new from scratch, from the start, rather than going back and updating and changing so much of that already exists in the Classes. It could be daunting, but I think it could become essential to the survival of This Game. New content is great, adding levels to the cap helps keep people playing, new flashpoints, new space battles, new dogfights....But what really gets them engaged, interested in staying, interested in spending their hard earned dollars and euros, is Story. Stagnation is your enemy. The logistics of what I suggest can be a nightmare for the game servers, the programme itself and the download time. It's essentially doubling the content of the game as it stands. So I propose that it be broken up into chunks. Fallen Knight/Enlightended Sith Inquisitor one quarter, then the Fallen Consular/Enlightended Sith Warrior the next, Skip Tracer/Pirate the third quarter, and rounding out that year could be the Republic SIS/Imperial Marine. I would love to play those storylines, the fallen heroes, the redeemed villains....adding to the richness and depth of this game. My subscription would remain intact, even through the Shiny promise of a new MMO. Naturally, I'd have to purchase more character slots, and so many others would have to as well. It will create that magical "need to have new stuff", therefore more micro-transactions, equals more money in the long run. I personally call it a good investment, particularly if you want this game to continue for as long as WOW and DDO have. Thank you for two years, here's hoping there are many, many more to come! Myfness.....
  14. Well, the Cathar have landed. I've spent Cartel Coin to get them. I have no Coin left. But, just to scout the possibility, I went to look up the "Buy a Character Slot" entry on the Cartel market. The wording is kind of ambigious, and I'm trying to decide what it means. QUOTE: This will unlock an addition Character Slot on all server. (<----not my typeo, just saying) *Server Character Slots allow a new character to be created on each server. *Subscribers begin with 12 slots per server. *Preferred Status Players begin with 6 slots per server. *Free to Play Players being with 2 slots per server. *This item will allow Preferred Status Players to activate an inactive character on a server. This seems pretty clear doesn't it? But, what if you're a Subscriber who's got 16 characters on a server because of Server Merger? Does this mean that I have to buy 2400 Cartel Coins worth of slots BEFORE I can buy a 17th character on my main server? That's four months worth of Cartel Coins, if you have a Security key. Does it mean that my limit for all servers would then be 13 characters (excepting for the one that's got 16), in other words 16 on main, 13 on all others? Or would it be a 17 characters on my main and 13 on my other servers? If I delete a character on my main server right now, will I be able to rebuild him without having to buy that character slot? Would I have to buy character slots 13-16 to rebuild him? And now the ambiguity becomes apparent to more than just me. And I'm going to have to jump on the wenging about having to buy with Cartel Coin the Cathar species bandwagon. I can understand buying a cosmetic change to change one existing character to another species. Changing an existing character's got to be a coding pain. I'm fine with that, and it's good that Subscribers get a decent discount on buying cosmetics. But as a Subscriber, I shouldn't have to buy the species for character creation. I want to understand why the decision was made to charge Subscribers to have access to the species at all. You, the Developers might not see it as charging because my Subscription gives me a stipend, but it's 1 month I can't buy anything else on the Cartel Market. It's 1 month I can't buy another character slot and answer for myself all my above questions. It's 1 month more I have to wait before I can actually PLAY this species. It might only be 1 month to you, but it adds 4 months worth of not being able to do anything with this species but wait or play on a server where I don't have a guild, I don't have a decent Legacy or support system for my characters. Yeah, I could conceivably buy more cartel coins, if I could afford that. But I can afford Coins OR I can afford a Subscription, not both. I rely on my Subscription to make it so that I can play the game as smoothly as possible. Waiting 4 months is not smooth. Not being able to use my coins on anything else to achieve being able to play this Species is not smooth. It mucks up my plans and makes me grumbley. It's like that argument between Luke and Uncle Owen, It's just one more season to you all, but it's a whole nother year to us. If you deem it so, tell us why. The words "Trust us, it's better this way," don't work as an answer either. I give you my hard earned money each month, I don't have to this game IS my entire entertainment expense. I've given you my money since I pre-ordered the game, haven't I shown that I trust you through server merges, beta, murderous lag, having to rebuild my characters skill trees seemingly every other month because you all made changes to game which probably won't make anything better in my over-all experience with your product? I feel kinda like a guy who's dating a chick with trust issues, what more do I have to do to show you that in general I do trust you? Like Number 5, I need more input. Convince me why I should. A little post from the Dev's every now and again confirming that you have gotten our suggestion and that it's being looked into would go a very long way to help smooth some ruffled feathers. You don't always have to go into detail if something is actually in development, just say "Great idea, we're working on the feasibility, and we hope you like what we come up with as a solution". But if something has been released, is an explanation of why this thing or that was done the way it was really too much to ask for? Climbing down off the Soapbox now..... Myfness.... Founder, Subscriber and Constant Player.
  15. Well, they really had up the limit from 8 when they made the big server mergers, elsewise folk would've abandoned ship even faster. If I had been forced to choose characters to delete, I would have been amongst them, to be honest. As for other games limiting number of character slots.....Sure, it happens. When I first started playing DDO I think the limit was 8 per server to start for Subscribers, and then up to 20 per server bought with Turbine points. If you buy a slot with points, you get that slot on all their servers. In the years since I joined, they've added 2 races and 2 classes that I can easily recall and have since upped the limit on bought slots above 25. To me, Turbine got that right. Also, their on-board vox chat rocks. Conversely, with DCU, you have a very limited pool of slots shared over every server. You have 12 (I think) characters, period. That number isn't per server, it's total. So if you have 8 on 1 server, you can only have 4 more characters on any other server. Never been a fan of that system, very limiting. I'm sure you can now buy more slots with Sony Cash, but to be honest it's been probably half a year since I logged into that game, and much longer since I was a Subscriber there. I never played SWG, in part because I couldn't fully delve the depths of the game with only one character. This universe is just so big, so many races, so many occupations, how could I choose just one character to be? And in any case, this isn't SWG. Shouldn't this game strive to exceed other games in an all around and general sort of way? Shouldn't it try to evolve in ever more efficient and functional and fair to all players sorts of ways? Especially those that preceded it in the SW Universe? I'm thoroughly prepared to spend coins on more character slots, have no problem with doing it. I don't mind an upper limit either, just make it an evolving system. Make the base number of slots per server 16, then the purchasable limit 20. That (20 total slots per server) would give me and currently overmaxed people who had max toons on two servers that merged into one 2 more Republic and 2 more Imperial toons to play around with on my main Server when Cathar come out. It would also level the proverbial playing field for Subscribers that DIDN'T have max number of toons on two servers that merged. It's not really fair to them, just because I got all hyper about making 1 of each Advanced Class in both the Dark and Light Factions, that I should have 4 more toons than they have. That's 4 more characters worth of pooled supplies, 4 more characters worth of Legacy points earned, 4 more toons to earn coin on or craft with. If I played differently and had gotten two or three toons up 50 and hadn't made all 8 toons on the servers, I'd be pissed that I was stuck at 12 when some other schmuck with the ADD who loves to indulge it (like me) has 16. Especially if we're both paying the same Subscriber fee. IN Summary: 1.) Raise Base Subscriber Limit to 16 per server for all Subscribers. 2.) Allow Subscribers as well as Free-to-Players to purchase up to 20 slots per server. 3.) Continue to raise the purchasable slots per server as Races and Classes are added by 4, as each Race/Class comes available for play. 4.) Consider adding an on-board voice chat system. I'm just saying it can be done right and really rocks when it does. Then you don't have to coordinate what 5 programmes you're going to use to chat with your buddies, cause one person is paying for Vent, another has xFire, someone else only uses Skype and there's the guy who has the programme no one has ever heard of and he doesn't want to download anything else.....Imagine how much smoother the Warzones and Ops missions and what would be if the party/ops group could all be on the same programme, chatting with each other and making plans and call outs and things like that. Myfness.....
