  1. I also love the player-base. One of the best I've seen in MMOs, along with TESO. A lot of lore-lovers, light-hearted atmosphere in chat, helpful community.
  2. Assassin is probably a better all-around choice (very flexible toolset, stealth is a huge advantage on its own). It is very functional and has a lot of tricks up the sleeve. But to me, it just doesn't feel right. It looks like a melee sorcerer with tons of "magic" effects, so I guess go for it, if that's your thing and you don't mind hearing the zapping lightning sounds almost every second. But Juggernaut, aesthetically, is pure win to me. Better story. Better voice (bonus - male Jugg sounds fantastic with the new Darth Malgus mask). Better companions (Vette, Pierce, Quinn whom we love to hate). Combat animations feel more impactful, more satisfying - regardless of actual numbers, the visual and sound effects make it look like your hits are *painful*, sharp - especially Crushing Blow, Backhand, Choke into Push into Charge into talented Vicious Throw. Having enemies kill themselves on saber reflect is super satisfying, too. Oh, if only I had the old Ravage animation... Also, a geared Juggernaut with the Grit Teeth tactical is nigh-unkillable (under usual circumstances).
  3. Disagree. It's one of the strongest classes out there, and one of my favourites. It has a lot of tactical options with the niche cooldowns (with relatively short cooldowns), some of which become really powerful with the right talents.
  4. Precisely. The development is so slow itactually isn't funny. ESO keeps releasing huge expansions, full area story, side quests (voiced, too), new mechanics\skill lines, and we get... a 10-minute story quest and a bunch of colorful Cartel Market stuff every 6 months. Actually my bad, we get shiny Cartel stuff way more often.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm a Star Wars fan, and a Founder. Used to be a very passionate SWToR player for a long time, now more of a casual visitor. Been playing the game with varying breaks for a long time already. It's been nine years, eh? TL;DR version: The good: - Still has a great potential. - Good choice of gameplay types. - Story is superb. - Good quality of life changes over time. The bad: - Development slowed down to a crawl, I don't feel compelled to play nearly as much as I used to. - Game mechanics, gameplay in general feels outdated. World interaction feels like year 2000. Few clickable objects, the rest are just cardboard decorations. - Replayability holds solely on old content, there hasn't been any significant new, exciting content updates for a while - The game grew stagnant. It needs a big breath of fresh air. A new expansion, a big update with class design/reimagining (will definitely wreck class balance for a while, but we're used to broken balance, aren't we, ladies and gentlebeings?), a big combat system update to improve character control and combat interactivity. I'll try to keep my mind from wandering and make it short. 1. The game is a colossal piece of work. In a good way. Tons and tons of assets, literal weeks worth of story, good replayability, decent MMO component. It has been this way since the start, chunks of varying sizes were added over time, and the game fealt like it was alive and growing. Until it abruptly stopped. After the end of the Eternal Throne arc it got silent. The story updates that we see are so tiny and rare they make you wonder "is that all? It must be a bug, there must be a purple quest marker somewhere". If updates are so small, they should be more frequent. We're getting a tiny quest at the rate that some MMOs spit out entire expansions. Take a look at The Elder Scrolls Online, for example. They keep shoving out quality expansions (big zones with full main story and side quests, new mechanics, items, class updates) regularly, and they don't seem to be slowing down, despite the game isn't very young, either. Yes, I'd pay cash for a fat, juicy, Makeb-sized expansion for SWToR, as long as it's on par with the rest of the game (at least if it has the story to blow me away, and more stuff to do (not the "plant 10 turrets\extinguish 10 fires" quests). 2. Starfighter gets ignored. PvP gets minor changes. Raids get minor fixes. Where is our stuff? Where is new content? So far it's just new CM clothes and weapons. New maps, new ships, hell, even new paintjobs for Starfighter would be exciting right about now. Overall game mechanics, gameplay dynamics feel like they haven't aged too well. 3. If you have trouble with budget (I imagine being the ONLY MMORPG of a HUGE franchise with an ENORMOUS fanbase worldwide should help with that) and can't afford to develop new content fast, make old content more replayable. Allow us to have a "new game plus" on our old character, effectively erasing all story progress and letting us relive the old story without having to reroll. So there goes - tell me what you think, fellow SWToR fans. A yellow acknowledgement would be super nice, too. P.S. Sorry for English (grammar, specifically), not a native speaker, and haven't used it for a while.
  6. Sentinel is generally considered more powerful due to strong "surgical" defensive cooldowns and strong offense. Although I find it to be the case only in more "structured" environments when you have reliable support. Guardian, on the other hand, is more well-rounded, in my experience. You get a good toolset, although somewhat less specialized. Your defenses don't scale as well as Sentinel's with heals and guard, but you're a bit more self-sufficient and less cooldown-reliant.
  7. Dunno, KotOR never did that much for me. Never understood why so many fans wave it around as THE exemplary StarWars story. It was good, but nowhere as good as to merit the fan sect it seemed to attract. The Revan plot twist, while not necessarily expectable, seemed like a really blunt move. It was intended as the wow-bomb to make the protagonist's world come crashing around them. But there was so much else going around that this fact alone was not that impactful. Malak was a cardboard villain. No believable motivation, at least none was mentioned. Overall, Sith soldiers looked like automatons. Sith forceusers, with rare exceptions (Korriban, especially), looked like high school bullies. No believable excuse (aside lol, dark side) at all. The companons were hit and miss, most of them not believable. Carth had the depth of an edgy Buffy the vampire slayer character. Bastila was practically a teen trying to act all grown-up. Mission was, well, Mission. HK was solid comic relief, but not much more. Only Zalbaar (aside Jolee) seemed to roughly possess a believable personality (ironically, being the least human organic). No complaints at all about Jolee. He was great. Overall, It left the impression of a bright - colored cartoon intended to be a cool adventure. Still play it on my smartphone/tablet sometimes, though. KOTOR2 was more shades of grey, it had more nuance, raised more personal, relatable, human issues. It was more thought-provoking, an experience rather than a ride... Ofc it was raw, came out unfinished and its great potential was never realized. I see no reason to link It to the horror that was TLJ.
  8. Jedi Knight, Tython. Sleep with the Matriarch's daughter, then slap her. Not a Galaxy-scale atrocity, but a major d-bag move. Consular-drive Imperial scientists insane on Hoth just out of sheer spite (with a comment like "The Empire has lot of mad scientists. What's a few more?"). Agent: brutal beatings of aliens. Very disturbing to look at.
  9. Having played all class stories (way) more than once, I'll throw in my couple o'pennies. Agent, while good, is a little overhyped, I think. Some of the choices you make should get you tortured and killed, period. There is no "if" the Empire knew. With the effort and tech they invest in their intelligence gathering network, they know if you are going number one, number two, or both before you even think of entering the bathroom. You get away with a lot of MAJOR stuff even when you're being specifically told "we know" (Dark Brotherhood handprint here). Just because how awesome our Agent is. Don't like the companion one bit, too. Except maybe the good Doctor... Sith Warrior-I May Be a little biased, since it's my favourites one. It's just that beneath this cheesy power trip facade there's a lot of underlying personal struggles - beyond just light and dark ("I am immune to doubt" © Sith Warrior). Some of the companions also feel like they influence the character, for better or worse. Vette is too popular for her own good, but I feel she's the one that helps to shape out hero (or villain) into what he/she eventually becomes. Malavai Quinn who we also love to hate, is also the Warrior's mirror. Inquisitor felt more like an adventure than a personal experience, but I really enjoyed the cynical sense of humour. I also noticed that the character never actually becomes free, despite the outcome of the story. First, a slave to cruel Master, then the victim of a plot, then a terrible disease/condition. The closest thing to freedom they get is the LS ending (freeing the ghosts). The Jedi Knight is straightforward, dramatic. And it's not necessarily a bad thing. They have a destiny, and it doesn't really matter how they fulfill it. It's a thrilling ride, no more and no less. Of all my Consular playthroughs I enjoyed a LS female character the most. Why? Her voice. It's something magical, sensual, enthralling. Huh? Plague? Yes, tell me more... What? Emperor's mind-thralls in the ranks of the Republic? Fascinating, do tell... Jokes aside, the story is nice, but ultimately forgettable. Trooper/BH... Honestly tried to like them, played both twice. They feel like b/c action movies that you watch once and forget. Smuggler-pretty much like watching a standup show in a middle of a firefight. Good, but has a lot more potential that was left untouched. Sadly, forgettable.
  10. After all this time, my inner idiot still giggles at the Vigilant Thrust ability name... On-topic, I dislike the Ravage/BB change. Used to be a high risk, high reward ability with some psychological effect on the enemy players. Previously a high point in fights, now it's a simple filler/root. Very disappointed in this regard.
  11. Rarity, Sniper. Bats her eyelashes with horrifying efficiency, has a way with words, which enables her to get others to do what she wants. Wouldn't be the first in line to get bloodstains on her clothes, though, so long distance it is. Plus, Agent voice and accent are as close as you can get to Tabetha St. Germain's portrayal. Other than her, the fan-endorsed, broken flat-hair Pinkie, who, thanks to the "Cupcakes" story, has a reputation for loving knives and using them creatively on her victims. Thus, Operative.
  12. Concerned about so many classes getting uncapped (unlike Guard\Jugg) singletarget Force/Tech reflect.
  13. Anyone else concerned about everyone (almost) and their dog getting uncapped (unlike Guard\Jugg) Force/Tech reflect? On the other note, my Commando is positively giddy about 5.0:D

  15. I definitely agree. However, I was rather surprised how natural and personal Neutral warrior plays, compared to "default", or "intended" Dark.
