    Scripts in PVP

Again, you are referring to a bot program, not a script. Scripting is the use of a program or game feature to automate certain actions or behaviors, not to automate the entire playing experience. Simple Examples: Bot: Queues, accepts and runs predetermined routes in warzones while you are at work with no input from the user. Script: Automatically activates "Y" as soon as the prerequisite "X" is met. -Automatically uses a med pack when HP drops below "X" amount. - Automatically interrupts a predetermined ability of your target. Macro: Heal members with 1 button. Ex. I mouse over your party frame and hit "heal" button which targets you and heals you.

Everyone read that very carefully. If it is in your combat log or changes pixel color, whatever it is you're trying to do, can be done very effectively.

/sigh I agree, however, you misinterpreted my post. The point is that you can manipulate the delays to get very impressive results despite all the variables.

You know, all you have to do is tailor the delay's to the GCD (which everyone knows is 1.5 sec.) and adjust the timing tailored to the user's specific latency. I won't go into more detail here for obvious reasons but even a troll with down syndrome can do it and you don't need a "macro goblin" esq program to accomplish it.

    Bolster

PvP Rob Hinkle comments on the reason behind the 30-54 PvP Bracket. 30-54 bracket | 02.23.2013, 05:34 AM Hey gang, let me see if I can bring some clarity to the situation. We do indeed have a new level of "Recruit" that we are bolstering towards, that is based on the new 55 gear. We believe that this bolster level will allow players to complete with any possible gear combination in the 30 – 54 bracket. Obviously we’ve had a few bumps in the road on PTS regarding current bolster, but we should be getting that fixed up soon ™, and everyone can get back to the business of PvP. Thanks for everyone’s feedback, not just on this but on everything, it is really helping us make a better game. Rob Hinkle Quote: Originally Posted by DaedalusV Well my point is that I see no logic at all in the 30-54 bracket choice. 40-54 maybe… 42 or 45-54 maybe… but 30?? It’s such a strange choice.. the 10-29 bracket will be starved (you level a lot faster in those levels compared to later ones) the 10-29 bracket will be ill-suited to prepare you for the 30-54 bracket (kiddie pool is very shallow, grown up one is too deep.) 30-54 bracket | 02.25.2013, 03:11 PM Valid feedback, and something we continue to debate internally. When we talk about separating the playing population by hard lines, there are always 2 main concerns that often compete directly against each other: A)Can the players inside that bracket reasonably compete against each other, and B)Are there enough players in the bracket to keep wait times reasonably small. We have initially chosen 30 as our new break point because that is the level in which players start having complete combat rotations (often because they’ve gotten a really important ability from a skill tree) and our data of who actually queues into Warzones has shown that we’ve got a good pool on each side of that break. We continue to analyze who is playing, however, so certainly if we ever feel like a particular PvP bracket is being starved we should make changes to it. Unfortunately, that’s what we believe would happen with a 50 – 54 bracket. It might be populated initially, but would quickly become empty as players hit 55 and for everyone following the initial surge of levelers there would significantly increased wait times to get into PvP. A number of players are concerned, reasonably I think, about the power differential between a fresh level 30 player and a current 50 player in augmented EWH gear being inside the same bracket. Our new bolster system should make those players reasonably competitive statistically, both with compensation for the lower items as well as some compensation for having fewer skill points/abilities (if you are lower level). Once we get this bolster bug fixed up, everyone should be able to see the kind of stats you are getting from the bolster and should give everyone a better basis for discussion. Does bolster work the same in the 55 bracket then? Also, since you are obviously going to have "bolster cutoffs", I don’t see how a level 30 is going to be able to match a 54 in the current build on the PTS. I have examined the bolstering affect(not using the "bug") at level 55 when I was wearing legacy gear with level 35 purples, and it won’t tread water to current 50′s, let alone LVL 54. There really needs to be some transparency on this because I feel this is a tipping point for the PVP side. We need to get this right… Can I also make another suggestion? On your level 55 PvP gear, the armor rating needs to match the new PvE gear armor ratings, especially if Bolster will affect anyone not wearing PVP gear. If I am mistaken on this, some insight would be helpful. One last thing, thanks for chiming in… I think all the "regulars" here really needed some TLC whether it is actual game changes or just discussions from the Dev staff. We now are shedding our feelings of being alienated…. 30-54 bracket | 02.25.2013, 05:12 PM Ya, the bolster will work for level 55s as well, if they are under geared. Could you post the stats on what you are seeing on PTS for your guy wearing legacy gear (or send the information to CommunitySupport@swtor.com, subject: ATTN Rob Hinkle, if you don’t want to dirty up the thread). It certainly is the intention that your 55 wearing level 35 gear should get bolstered back up. To give everyone an idea (and BIG caveat here, this number is still in flux), but currently I would expect the new 55 bolster to be getting people into gear right around (statistically) non-augmented EWH. Rob Hinkle on level 20 and 40 PvP gear and their removal. Question on Level 20 and 40 PvP Gear | 02.21.2013, 10:44 PM We should be able to keep this gear available, if you guys want it. Obviously we already had thrown the note up without removing the gear, but I don’t think the intention in removing the gear was anything other than just to try to clean up some of the extra vendors in the fleet. Since you can now trade in Warzone Commendations for the new Planetary Commendation and get leveling gear that way, we didn’t feel like the 20/40 gear had a need. I’ll double check with the items guys to make sure there wasn’t another reason we wanted to remove them. Rob Hinkle From here.
  7. I never Sweep/Smash immediately following a leap because 9 times out of 10 you WILL get knocked back as it is a defensive reflex. I wait for the knock-back leap again then Sweep/Smash. Anyways, here are my stats self buffed. 1687 STR 1652 END 1143 EXP 974-1143 Damage (Pri) 1175 PWR Here is one of my Sweeps that hit for 7,712 and the hardest one I have ate has been around 7k (since I've been parsing my logs)

    Bolster

Here’s how Bolster works: 1. Bolster scales your damage / healing tool-tips to level 49 2. Bolster scales your stats to level 49 3. Bolster does not provide the talent points that a sub-50 would have earned by 49 4. Bolster does not provide new abilities that are not trainable until a higher level Does Bolster provide parity for lowbies against higher-level opponents? No, but it does help to minimize the gap and help lowbies to be competitive if not equal. An interesting implication of #2 is that a low-level player who is geared in solid greens and blues for their level can hit hard in PVP. I’ve put up 200k damage with various RDPS classes at levels 10-12 in PUGs while focusing on winning the match not padding my stats. On an early Sniper stream, I delivered ~9k damage with 3 abilities thanks to crits. If you keep the same gear across levels, you’ll find that your damage / healing decreases as your level increases. Bolster takes your current stats and scales them as if you were level 50. As such, a level 15 player in 13-15 greens and blues hits harder than a level 40 player in 30 greens for the same ability, assuming it’s not talented (e.g. the armor ignore talent for Powertech / Vanguard in the Advanced Prototype / Tactics tree). Therefore it’s important to keep your gear relatively up-to-date. The other thing to consider is that as classes level up, they gain abilities that provide utility, e.g. CC, buffs, debuffs, etc. What I’ve found as I’ve leveled up my Bounty Hunter Powertech and Trooper Vanguard is that I spend a lower % of GCDs for damage abilities compared to other abilities. While your abilities may hit or heal for less at higher levels, this is more than offset by the increase in utility and survivability gained with talents and abilities. Taken from here.
  9. WB man, I to played me a little D3! Your best bet is to read the patch notes and check out the Customer Service forum. Not sure when you quit but in a nutshell/IMO (in no specific order). -Went F2P -People still ***** about PvP, nerf this class nerf that class etc. -I don't PvE that much so maybe a chime from someone else that does will help. -The Cartel Market sucks *** for F2P and people who don't want to spend IRL $$ on virtual goods. -The Cartel Market is the **** for gold sellers and legitimate players who have the $$ to spend on the virtual goods. -EA has BW by the nutsack and calls the shots. -BW customer service still sucks *** -There are still multiple bugs that are known about and have yet to be fixed. -Major CTD problems (see sticky in CS) -Xmas is still on DEC 25th -A lightsaber in the *** still stings -Trolls are still everywhere -and.. I still enjoy the game! GL and have fun man! Cuz thats what 'tis all about!
  10. In reference to min/maxing. I'm to the point now where I'm at a crossroad on mod swapping. I use all power mods for my toon... got it. My dilemma is weather to use the 45 End, 30 Exp, 22 Pwr, 53 Surge or the 27 End, 30 Exp, 41 Pwr, 53 Surge. I am not running rated WZ and not sure if the Endurance trade of is worth the Power/Surge increase. Thank you for your time... My current stats self buffed: 1687 STR 1652 END 1143 EXP 974-1143 Damage (Pri) 1175 PWR

  12. Here is a WZ Force Sweep from earlier tonight. They do indeed hurt.
  13. Unless I'm not understanding what you're saying, and I apologize if I don't, all you need to turn in for the EWH upgrades for the head, chest, hands, legs, boots, OH and MH are the WH shells. You can rip all of the mods out to pass to a different toon as the set bonuses are attached to the armoring/hilt/barrel and not the shell.
  14. While this may be true on some occasions, I was simply responding to Raansu as he said he didn't see the point. So, his question in relation to what this thread is about was an accurate answer.
