  1. No you're not. This is an MMO, not Vegas. I'd buy a lot more stuff if I didn't know my purchase would probably be a waste of money. The only time I bought the gambling packs was with leftover money after buying what I really wanted. If I had the ability to buy any amount of Bioware bucks I'd buy the exact amount I need for what I want and wouldn't spend a dime on the 'probably a waste of money packs'. Edit: Know what I got from my last pack? A bound companion customization for C2-N2 my sith can't use or even sell, A stack of materials for a crew skill I don't have, a recipe for a crew skill I don't have, a 1 hour EXP boost for class quests, a companion gift my favorite companion didn't like and Revan pants. The pants were the one thing I actually wanted in the whole pack. I'm not likely to ever get the whole set unless I can buy them directly. I'm not inclined to waste money on packs that give 99% useless stuff for a small chance of maybe (but probably not) getting a piece of the Reven armor I don't have yet.
  2. Yeah they shouldn't get a say because stopping people from quitting is a terrible idea amirite? Edit: Strawman portion of the argument underlined for irrelevance.
  3. There are 10,000 players currently playing a hypothetical game. 9,000 of them are happy. It looks like the majority is happy, but that's because you didn't ask the 9000 unhappy players who already quit. when you include them it turns out there are actually 10,000 unhappy players, but only 9000 happy ones. The forum is negatively biased because happy people are too busy playing the game to post here. The in-game population is positively biased because the ones who aren't happy are either on the forum or already quit. The only way to learn what the majority really thinks is to ask in a neutral location that has nothing to do with SWTOR.
  4. If for some reason you don't have a debit or credit card you can always use a prepaid credit card. It's sort of like a gift card, but it works anywhere. There's usually a small fee for refilling them though.
  5. With cybertech you can make ship parts, grenades and even droid armor if you're planning to get HK-51. You can also make earpieces and some stuff to go in orange armor, although I forget which slots. I think it's a pretty useful skill. Personally, I went biochem.
  6. Just wait a while. We'll get buffed. I just started playing again so I was surprised at the current state of the class. When I quit Sorcs and sages were the OP FOTM class. We'll get our turn again. In MMOs everything goes through perpetual gimp/OP cycles.
  7. Ryloth (the Twi'lek planet) was permanently day on one side and permanently night on the other. The twi'leks lived in the ring of twilight in the middle. The rest of the planet was uninhabitable due to the extreme temperatures.
  8. A game where thousands of people share an open persistent world. SWTOR is at least 75% instanced while leveling and 100% instanced at endgame. They might as well just give up the act and have a lobby system. I'm not saying it's a bad game. I'm just saying it's trying as hard as it can not to be an MMO. Edit: Pre-expansion Asheron's Call 2 is a good example. It's a terrible game, but a good example of what makes a game an MMO. I spent maybe 5% of my time there in an instance at the very most. In SWTOR I spend almost all of it in an instance. SWTOR actively discourages grouping in <50 PvE. Excluding flashpoints and heroics it's far more efficient to solo. Space missions are single player only. In AC2 it was nearly 100% grouping after about level 10.
  9. I didn't know that until just now. I'm saying that I could explore for 8 hours a day for 5 years and never find most of the datacrons. Even if you cover every single inch of ground you won't find most of them because they aren't visible from the ground and require a lengthy and complicated parkour trip that starts half way across the map from where the actual datacron is. I'm not saying they're not a good morivation for exploring. I'm saying they're not a motivation to explore at all since it's impossible to find them by exploring. The only thing they're a motivation for is Google and/or buying a strategy guide.
  10. With most of them you aren't going to run into them on ANY path. Most of them past the lowbie planets are literally impossible to find unless you already know where they are. They aren't there to motivate exploration, they're there to motivate strategy guide purchases.
  11. I agree that it's bad design for an MMO. Unfortunately, Bioware didn't design this as an MMO. They designed it as KOTOR 3 with multiplayer tacked on.

I could dig up more if I needed to though.

I have somewhere to go, but give me a while and I'll be back with more. There's plenty of long hair in Starwars.
