  1. But think about it in terms of what would actually happen. The coalition forces show up in front of the big bad boss and who are the first thrown off the balcony and mowed down? The troopers. Special forces or not, troopers are not the protagonists who survive the scuffle.....
  2. Especially with the advent of the Imperials working with Republic against Revan in the expansion can we now have the option of having our alts be our companions through our legacy? They don't have to earn favor or the like and their stats can be matched to your level of stats for a tank/healer/dps in the case that they are higher than you. I would be perfectly fine if it was a max level only thing to with both you and the alt required to be at max level. Even if they had standardized AIs and moves per class and spec I would be fine with it. It just would be cool option please.
  3. So my vanguard trooper has always been my main since beta. I raided regularly pre-expansion and got to 55 in Hutt Cartel. I mainly play this game for the stories and the fun with the lore (I play under the midset that I'm playing KORTOR 3). With the advent of the upcoming fight against the forces of Revan I just don't feel like my vanguard trooper is the appropriate main to flesh-out the content with. It just seems kind of inappropriate to think that republic special forces would be the guys who take him down in raids and the like. Special forces seem to be pegged to defeating Imperial or rogue merc group incursions. So I give you my other alt options and I am curious to hear which of them sound more appropriate to go on this journey with. Light-sided Human Jedi Guardian DPS Female Dark-sided Cyborg Sage DPS Obese male Neutral Rattataki Scoundrel Healer female Light-sided Sith Pureblood Merc Healer female Light-sided Twi'lek Inquisitor Tank male obese Dark-sided Chiss Warrior DPS female Light-sided Miraluka Sniper male My agent seems like he'd fall under the same disquals as my trooper. Soundrel and BH I could feasibly see as like part of the over-all group of people that takes him down (kind of like Han in the movies) but not necessarily the leader. Curious to hear opinions and I thank you for your time! Never in my MMO history have I ever changed a main like this but Star Wars stories are too immersive not to live in them.
  4. Yeah.... his sunny disposition goes away at a certain point in the story when the 3 of you have a chit chat and you make a choice (assuming you disagree with him).
  5. So I started at launch and used to raid before Hutt Cartel came out (quit at expansion due to hideous nature of new tier gear) and I remember back when we all started there was that poll that outlined the popularity statistics. So here we are a couple years later and I've been leveling alts just because I love the stories. I'm curious for you other long-time players, have you seen a change in the frequency of classes over time and as a side, do you think the Cathar addition had anything to do with they changes you noticed? And for those end-gamer raiders, do you think demand for certain classes/specs had anything to do with it?
  6. I leveled Trooper before HK was available and when I got 4X he reminded me of the love child of a WoW paladin and HK which I thought was hilarious. Aric I disliked a lot at first, hated him more when he asked me to take him somewhere where the pathing lead me straight through an Empire camp, but then took pity on him because a lot of what happened wasn't his fault, not even Bioware not letting him have a hair option (at the time). You do get a chance at a point in the story to buck him up a bit. Elara only grew on me because I leveled with her. Yuun is just odd, I mean not just because he's described as odd but he doesn't have that sort of special extra charm most non-basic speaking aliens do that makes them unforgettable. Tanno fills the "someone with a reckless attitude" space that really exists on your team.
  7. So I thought long and hard about this last night and it now has really come down to the following logic at the end of the day and I still can't make up my mind. This is what's getting me: I don't have a healer so I should level one next. I just did Republic side so I should probably do Empire to keep it "fresh" (as much as it can be). So in theory I should do my BH. I'm also in the middle of KotoR 1 (I only played 2) and I hear the Consular story is riddled with KotoR references so if that's correct I should do him last. I find my SW as a character much more interesting than my BH (especially since it's my first Dark Side character). On top of that, Scoundrel healing seems much more fun than Merc healing (the shooting Kolto at the tank as bullets irritates me). So if I were to play just by my gut I would go: SW->Smuggler->BH->Consular But if I were to play to the logic, I would go: BH->Smuggler->SW->Consular So I guess it comes down to BH vs SW. So what are the arguments between these two paths. Do I stick it out through BH and just get it over with? I guess there is an argument to be had for doing what seems fun after what is less fun so the motivation is there to finish.
  8. Not really because Stockstrike is your friend. There are times when you're still putting out good damage from having some range when you're doing movement in a fight but as soon as that dust settles, you want to be up and in their faces again.
  9. In the original game. You know how you have to pick from 3 general paths? The caster from what I recall in KotoR 2 is supposed to be the "hard path" and I believe the Guardian style is meant to be the "easy" path. I'm talking about those. Which would Revan most likely have been? Edit: My apologies, I didn't realize in KotoR 1 you pick from Soldier, Scout and Scoundrel. I had assumed it was like KotoR 2. Now I feel dumb because I can't imagine these 3 choices really matter. Edit 2: Well I now learned you do pick between Guardian, Sentinel and Consular so I guess my question still stands. I'm thinking Consular though simply because as a Sith Lord Revan would have known the Dark Side of the Force completely and was suave and manipulative to lead his force where as Malak seems to be the rough and tumble Juggernaut type. Therefore it'd seem logical that in his KotoR 1 journey going deep into Light Side Force powers would make him out to the be the character that has a deep understanding of both sides of the Force spectrum no?
  10. Well by similar I meant its basically a similar rotation with like moves both visually and technically: 1 big point builder and a couple little ones, Master Strike, and a descending row of point expenditures. Also I notice the way you slash with 2 light sabers at least on the female model is kind of awkward (reminds me of female trolls in WoW with 2h weapons). I had heard that Zenith would be the go-to guy for Dark Sided and HK obviously. However, the thorn there is we're both ranged DPS and will get mowed down so it's extremely limiting functionally. Qyzen I know likes to kill people when they're strong opponents so he gets some goodness there but I can't be the cruel ****** to people I'd like to be to really flesh out the character.
  11. When I leveled my IA as Sniper I went with my melee dps companion the whole time (Vector). I just sent him in and mowed down the enemy one by one. Just make sure you both are always on the same target (follow your companion's lead) and I never had any problems. If you spread out the damage your companion just won't last but the way I described is very efficient. The only time I had to mix-it up is with double Elites. In that situation you want to send in your companion and then Snipe the elite he's not focused on and then go back to focusing the elite he is on. The non-focused elite will run to you wasting a lot of time and then as he starts to beat on you just use your defensive cooldowns and knock-backs (not a lot of threat) and the other elite will fall. Then just go to town on the one focused on you and it works out most all of the time.
  12. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention but the only big race oddities I noticed in the Sith lines were 1. Finding out your lineage as a Twi'lek SI and 2. Being a Zabrak and going to Sith school and being asked if you're jealous that you aren't red skinned and therefore pure...... Both are quite the head scratchers but the latter is a development issue.
  13. So I buckled down over the weekend and got my JK to 50+ making it my 4th class to do so (Trooper, IA and SI already done) so I've run the gamut of armor classes, short and long ranged dps, and 2 tanks. I have the following 4 set-ups left and they're all roughly level 20. All 4 that I've done so far have been light sided. Any opinions on which of the 4 to go with are welcome as they all seem like they have their own selling points from what I understand: Dark Sided Chiss Female Marauder with Jaessa/Pierce (can't decide which) Upside: Story Downside: Just did Guardian dps so similar moves Light Sided Pureblood Mercenary Healer with Blizz Upside: Companions Downside: There are enough healer mercs running around to make their own army. Dark Sided Cyborg Sage (DPS) with (unknown companion) Upside: Rare Snowflake Downside: Story and I don't think their is a good Dark Sided Sage companion...... Light Sided Rattataki Smuggler (healer) with Bowdaar Upside: I hear the story is decent Downside: Yet another Light Side story..... Thanks for any opinions/advice!
  14. So I've been berated for this before and I know my bad and all but before playing SWtoR I only got to play KotoR 2 and never 1. Now having leveled 4 classes to 50+ (JK, SI, IA, and Trooper) I think I should really go play it so with my remaining characters a lot of the lore and stuff will be even more recognizable to me. Interestingly now I can make Revan and the Exile the way they appear in SWtoR. My question is the following though. In the canon run through with Revan, what class is he meant to be? I know from fighting in the Foundry that he's like a Guardian/Sage hybrid so I'm curious. The Exile from what I can tell is a Guardian (I'll play KotoR 2 again but with the mods for the better experience). I hope this doesn't lead to an argument but just for a fun play through of the game what is the most accurate depiction of Revan?
  15. Hi all, I have 4 classes left to level past 20. I'm trying to figure out a configuration that will suite 2 of my remaining classes and make leveling a bit easier and the story enjoyable. So here's the groundwork so far, my Scoundrel is Light Sided, my Sage is Dark Sided. One of them will be dps and one of them will be a healer. I would PREFER the Scoundrel to be the healer but if my Sage is, I believe the only Dark Sided(ish) companion for the JC is the healer correct? Wouldn't that make leveling difficult? Also, from my understanding there are very few Scoundrels and all those that are are Sawbones. Are most Sages heals or dps? I'm not always the "rare snowflake" as it were but it seems like a dps Scoundrel would stand out a bit. Let me know if you have any advice! Thanks all.
