  1. I play on an EU server and I never have a problem. I have never seen anybody speak anything but English...
  2. It should be rare tbh. Otherwise the marketplace will be flooded.
  3. This is about the principle of not getting what we paid for! But 8AM till 4PM is the time for the UK only. Most of Europe is on CET which is 9AM till 5PM and East Europe is 10AM till 6PM.
  4. Common practice != best (or even good) practice. Wow also managed to seperate its EU and NA servers so as not to take a day out of most people's play time. Maybe NA has more players, but we pay more. Maybe 10AM till 5PM CET is when the least populated overall but I find that hard to beleive. If Bioware has the stats lets see them.
  5. This is not about being able to play everyday. This is about the principle of Bioware CHARGING us a monthly sub and us losing days out of that monthly sub due to things that should have been fixed in the beta.
  6. How many people do you know that work past 5PM? The last maintenance went to 7PM and this one looks likely to be extended too.
  7. How exactly is 9AM till 5PM (which will more than likely be extended) "off-peak"? I appreciate that this time they are trying to avoid the holiday but, I'm sorry, in no universe is 9AM till 5PM off-peak. If you want to take a day of play time away from us, fine. Just give us a refund for that day.
  8. The UK is NOT most of Europe. I am in Poland so the last maintenance window went to from 11am to 7PM. By the time you take out time for Breakfast and Dinner this is all day.
  9. Bioware has stated that they have no interest in changing the maintenance window for SWOTR. Europeans can expect to lose a day everytime maintenance is carried out. A day they are currently paying for. I propose that as a protest all EU members temporarily cancel their subs to get the attention of Bioware and let them know just how much of their player base they could lose. Bioware can choose from three possible solutions: 1) Organise their servers differently so as to enable seperate update windows 2) Alternate which region has the downtime in the day 3) Move the maintenance 3 to 4 hours earlier so that it will affect both the American evening and the EU morning or vice versa. I've just cancelled mine.
  10. Why don't we all temp cancel our subs till a resolve is found. I'm sure Bioware will notice if the entire EU player base cancels its subs for awhile.
  11. Ok, so Bioware can't do seperate updates for whatever reason. How about they at least alternate which timezone gets the shaft? If the Americans have no issue with the servers being down in the day why can't we take turns?
  12. I worked in IT for years and NO paying customer would EVER accept a maintenance window in the middle of the day. If our servers went down, even for 2 hours in the middle of the day, it would mean massive compensation. Sort your **** out Bioware!
  13. If this continues I will be cancelling my sub. I do not pay to lose 4 days out of every month. I can ONLY play during the day and I work nights. If the USA thinks the middle of the day is a fine time to schedule updates then how about you have the updates in the middle of the US day? Or at least alternate it. I could accept it if every second update was in the day here. but, atm this is just shafting the EU players.
  14. Seems like a stupid way to set up servers tbh. The point of having geographically seperate servers for an MMO is for latency issues, not redundancy.
