  1. Put my name in the hat for wanting an Achievements system.
  2. Sir, if it weren't considered trolling - I'd post the video from Billy Madison with the guy saying that we are all now dumber because of what you said. They have announced that they are working on long term plans to revamp Space Combat. You admit to knowing this. They have also announced that in the short term, they will continue to release new Space Missions on the rail. You don't have to like the new space missions on the rail - but a lot of players, including myself, actually like the rail space combat. MMORPGs have to meet the needs and interests of a varying group of people. I personally cannot stand huttball. I hate huttball like the devil. But I'm not going to ask BioWare to remove it, or get mad at them because they spent precious time developing it. A lot of people like Huttball, and there is nothing wrong with that. Yes, they will continue to develop space on rails, a feature that I really enjoy. However, I agree that Space Combat is not what it can be. I agree that it requires a huge over haul. They promised us this - and they are working on it. They just can't release any details about it because of the politics of MMO gaming. They are going to wait to release space combat news when they need to strategically reclaim players - and there is nothing wrong with that.
  3. After reading through the thread, there is some blatant trolling going on here. It stinks of the Blizzard Viral Marketing team. First, the OP doesn't make any direct quotes, and assumes a lot by intentionally mis-interpreting the Q&A session. Then, someone with the name PandaMonk (obvious WoW reference is obvious) intentionally shortens an already short quote to mislead forum readers regarding the topic. This thread is useless, and misleading. These trolls are doing nothing but pissing people off with a lie. It is very clear to me that competitors and players of the competitors are scared of what SWTOR is trying to accomplish. That's a good thing . . .
  4. If you're going to tell the story - tell the whole story. They are working on something for the long term that is different than what we currently have. Lets hope its worth the wait. Here is the full quote:
  5. Wow - I'm not sure if I could stick around for that. They have talked about Super Servers, but really I'm not too sure how that is going to work in the short term. Seems they are going to do transfers in 1.3 - then eventually do Super Servers.
  6. They have all been linked/sourced in this thread. Heck, the post before yours was mine quoting from one of the articles.
  7. Then you're not looking in the right places . . . several articles to include Market Watch has talked about it.
  8. This - Looks like we are getting information concerning an Expansion of some type.
  9. Should I facepalm now or later? My computer runs the 110% speeders in Republic Fleet @ 60 FPS (w/ Vertical Sync on). I know that there are some graphic glitches out there, and I am a victim of the CTD/System Lock graphic glitch. The engine is more than capable of running the game appropriately. There are just some kinks that need to get worked out. Personally, I'd like to see Space Combat go a more Sand Boxy, less Rail system direction. I'd like exploration to play an important part of Space - and would like to see Space become a game all to itself.
  10. I have a 560 ti, and I loved it . . . until SW:TOR did something horrible to it. My wife's ATI works beautifully, but my 560 ti system locks the entire computer while playing SW:TOR. Normally, I would suggest the 560 ti - but in this case; I'd have to go with the ATI for stability.
  11. All of the gear - and yes, I mean all of it - needs a complete and total art direction change. Looking half decent at levels 1 - 10 is acceptable. Beyond there, you have to progressively look more awesome. In terms of the art direction chosen, I'm not even sure where to begin on whats wrong with a lot of the pieces of gear. It seems as though the developers literally said, "How do we make people look as horrible, and as ugly as possible?" Terrible . . . just terrible.
  12. You want that nasty Yellow and Black Color Crystal? I hope that is last on their list of priorities.
  13. He probably hasn't gone to Port Raga - or something. There is a side class quest on a space station. I think it is in Hutt Space - but I could be mistaken.
  14. Trust me, I think Nobuo Uematsu is a far better composure than John Williams. One day, there will be a composer even better. However - the question was "Is there anything in SWTOR like this yet?" To me the answer seemed quite obvious - as if it weren't for John Williams, you wouldn't have the song that he linked. John Williams is a major inspiration to a number of different composers who went and inspired others. Trust me, we wouldn't have John Williams if it weren't for his inspirations. Musical evolution is rooted in previous works. The way SW:TOR captures John Williams' music and applied to the game is quite well done, and is very pleasing.
  15. My answer to that question is rather simple - There are many times where the music captures my attention and fully immerses me into the game world. I've caught the hair on the back of neck rise on occasion. The problem with the music in the game is the general lack of it! There are way too many silent moments in the game, which can be incredibly detrimental to the cinematic nature of the game.
