  1. Galactic Legends is an Achievement for having one of ever class to 60. Currently you just get the separate titles for Republic Legend and Imperial Legend. They are tied to the separate factions though, as you can have one without the other. The titles are gained by getting 1 60 for each class per faction. Get both titles and get the Galactic Legend achievement which has NOTHING rewarded for its capture
  2. Does anyone know if there are any near future plans to actually give any sort of endgame, or earlier even, content tied to alignment? Currently the only bennies to alignment seem to be titles and the ability to bypass some fights! But it would be nice to maybe have some special abilities tied to each class based off what alignment they chose or even some actual alignment required gear styles for some endgame gear but actually make them look different than their counter parts. Just something to make the alignment more involved in gameplay... Just wondering if anyone has heard anything
  3. W would just like to ask, "huh?"
  4. First off, I must LOL hysterically at the previous post. "Hello Kitty"! Geez you crack me up! That having been said... gotta tell you I agree, also, with the Previous poster. I have 12 characters and 7 lvl 50s and I DO play on a PvP server. And tho I am not much of a PvP'r, I have never noticed a problem being flagged. You continue to get riled up because someone steps into your AOE dmg radius and flags you and ganks you; yet you refuse to adjust your play-style to avoid these situations. If this upsets you so much and you feel it ruins your ability to play this game, and you continually refuse to adjust your play-style... then maybe you SHOULD find some other game to play. I do not say this to be mean, or to tell you HOW to play your character. However, this is STAR WARS! This is not some little fantasy game about elves and undead things walking around. The VERY LORE that this game follows is about a GALAXY AT WAR. You cannot blame, nor fault, other players for sticking to the lore and trying to "kill the enemy on site". Some people like to fantasize that they are "Sith" for a reason. I jump you, flag you and kill you? What do you expect from an enemy of the opposing faction. As I have said, I have 7 lvl 50s and in all my questing (Which was almost ENTIRELY PVE) squaring off against another player has been virtually non-existant. For the most part they tend to save it for a WZ. I am NOT saying I never come across another player, but for the most part they just fly on by and go on about their business leaving me to mine. Also, two things you should TRY to keep in mind: 1) Ilum is a PVP world... even your "Interlude" lore and the planetary lore (if you check your codex) explains that Ilum is under major conflict. Playing on Ilum, PVP should be naturally expected. And 2) Players OF ALL SERVERS have been BEGGING BW to fix the WORLD PVP on Ilum. And this event takes place in the WPVP zone on Ilum. This event was there short term answer to those requests (ie YES in this area, for these quests, careful or not YOU CAN EXPECT PVP) That does not mean every frikin player that runs by you is gonna gank you, nor does it mean that every player that runs past you is gonna necessarily be your friend. You need to proceed with caution in this area if you don't want to get flagged. If you are a heavy smoker and are surrounded by potentially flammable gases, do you light up and blame the area for your problems, or yourself for not adjusting your behavior?

  6. However...the players who would get "upset" and "lash out" over being made to change an obviously offensive name, are the kinda people I'd rather not even play with. Also...this is Bioware's game. The 1st amendment doesn't apply to anyone here on the forums, nor to players in-game. You voluntarily come here and are expected to follow the rules. My point was missed... I was not stating that i agree with people that lash out or that get upset over having to change the name. My point was: People use the 1st amendment as their reasoning for quitting, regardless of Bioware's game stance on the issue. It is simply the reason they assure themselves as to why they leave the game. Kinda, to make themselves feel good about why they left. And, 2) My MAIN POINT. BIOWARE does not want to start kicking (banishing, causing to leave) players right now because of how few subs they are currently rocking. So, from a business stand-point, it is financially wiser to just let people slide on the whole naming policy. They, of course, jump in if they receive A LOT of reports on the same name, but otherwise they most likely will just let it go. The cannot afford to kick every jerk that decides to be a dink and pick the most offensive name they can think of simply for the "shock factor"
  7. i think that there may be another completely logical reason for letting people bend the naming policy rules: This game kicked off with somewhere around 2-3Million subscribers and in not even a year was down to, what I believe somebody quoted earlier in this post, as 5-700k subscribers. So, with that having been pointed out, if they started asking every player with a name in violation of the policy to change their name or risk account banishment, the player base would simply respond by quitting the game and citing the 1st amendment as their reasoning. People like to think they are being clever that way, you know. This game is struggling to hold on and the developers, while I agree are having major staffing issues, are doing everything they know how to help this game get off the ground and hopefully find a footing to sustain itself the way WoW did for so long. So in response to the OP question: Why don't they enforce their own policy? I have two responses: 1. There are major staffing issues and they do the best they can. And, 2. It would just be plain stupid and irresponsible, from a business stand-point, to start upsetting their clientele by enforcing such a policy right now that would most likely end with either an account banishment or the customer leaving voluntarily citing 1st amendment issues. This is because people tend to lash out. They tell their friends why they got banished or quit then their friends quit and tell their friends who then quit and before you know it the game dies from lack of subscribers. They are a business. They are in it to make money. Removing customers from already dwindling numbers is, as I said, JUST PLAIN STUPID!
  8. I agree with the idea that smugglers and Bounty Hunters need to START neutral... I mean basic lore tells you both BH and smuggs are businessman up for grabs to the highest bidding jobs... The story lines for both even reflect that... the BH looks to start his career and wants to make his fortune and finds the best way to get your foot in the door is to work for the Hutts... The smuggler takes the path he chooses when he gets stranded on Ord Mantel... Point being they BEGIN their respective stories neutral. So what FORCES them to choose to work for the Republic or work for the Empire? Common sense would suggest, as in all stories involving war and sabotage, that the bad guys (Empire) usually gets all the major money, and the good guys (Republic) usually try to appeal to your sense of honor, which is in a sense what they do here too. But, who is to say that a smuggler wouldn't rather be rich or that a BH doesn't find a sense of honor? My suggestion, if not working in a whole new faction, let these two classes remain neutral at the beginning and have their alignment dictate their loyalties. We can agree that by basic class quests alone, by the time their finish their starting planet, they will either be Light I or Dark I. From there let Light smuggs/BH go to work for the Republic and Dark go to work for the Empire. No need to rewrite their stories, simply create an alternate story for each class. Now one might ask what about those already stuck in their respective factions? You can either OFFER a reset of their alignment ( I say offer because, in case they do not wish it, they do not have to gain Light/Dark V all over again) or force them to earn the realignment by running flashpoints and quests and gaining the alignment points in opposing direction themselves.... You can even give a legacy perk to grant increase in alignment, or they can use Diplomacy to gain the alignment.... However, upon changing faction the MUST complete the other factions story quest chain to reap the alignment benefits.... this is just MY IDEAS on the matter
  9. Here is another idea I just thought of.... What about adding a series of Legacy quests into the game.... Make them a little rough and tough or kinda add some side-quests into the Story lines for each class... And upon completing these quests Open up certain "High Costing" perks from legacy. Like we could have some sort of a smuggling chain sending us back and forth working for the Hutts (This does NOT have to be for smugglers alone, in game AND in lore ANYONE could be convinced to run errands for the Hutts, the benefits CAN be worth the small detour) and in return for your services, at the end of the chain (and make it a decent one that takes you to almost every planet, makes you FIGHT YOUR WAY IN OR OUT, at the end the Hutt that hired you CHOOSES to instal a GTN on your ship in gratification for your help. I mean im not a dev so im sure they could do a FAR better job implementing this idea... but the jist is, give a series of quests: either legacy chains or add them as side quests into our stories and let us EARN and unlock THROUGH NPCs and Story lines these way OVERPRICED perks
  10. I would like to see legacy perk costs decrease each level past 25... If you are not gonna have any perks for us beyond level 25, at least start making it easier for us to purchase the perks you DO have. I have a legacy level of around 40ish and many have 50 by now.... We are playing the game you wanted us to play, we are creating and leveling alts, so why, oh WHY do I still have to pay 2M creds for rocket boots which only give a brief increase to movement speed, or 5M creds so I dont have to keep going back and forth to the fleet ( an extremely HIGH populated area making for much lag) just to put something on the GTN (since after any purchase of a legacy perk I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANYTHING). This is extremely EXTREMELY ridiculous credit sink. I mean after all the items on the GTN and at some of your vendors are already incredibly overpriced, and still we have to get robbed from something we earned to unlock. Or here is even another thought (just had it) If you dont want to lower the costs then make more of these perks have secondary unlocks at higher legacy levels. For example, the GTN: If one does not have 5M creds then make it automatically unlock at say legacy 50 since I can see the unique luxury of this particular perk, but the rocket boots... come on make those automatically unlock around 35-40. There is so many of these perks that would be entertaining and fun but come on, at these prices... Most people are funding 8 toons, trying to gear (GTN has ridiculous prices as i stated above), You charge us between 30-45K creds to rip mods from end game gear so we talking around 135K just to rip one piece or armor, any social gear or Legacy gear set costs approx 1M credits for the set, Switching specs to go between pvp and pve, funding crew skills, 6 companions worth of gifts, ability funding/training usually every two levels can easily cost 2-300K depending and lvl 50 alone is about 300K now take all these figures and times them by 8 and you have a small fortune. Seriously for what im paying in game for all of this, WHY AM I FIGHTING A WAR.... I should just buy a damn planet somewhere and retire! Please look into this, I would like to by some of these perks but I can never afford to while still paying for basic in game necessities!
  11. Ok, I hadnt thought of that one... Great idea... thanks!
  12. Dude, no need to be harsh.... everyone plays their own way... my way is NORMALLY quest to 50 then pvp that way. Call me crazy but I enjoy pve over pvp. However, since I have at least ONE of every class and have gone thru the side quests and stories for almost ALL planets, when i decided to finish an old toon that was already lvl 43 (via lvling my usual way) I chose to finish differently since we were coming up on a planet I dont particularily care for, Voss! I chose to finish this toon by completing story quests and pvping in between. I was rolling along just fine, I just wasnt aware of this lvl 50 restriction to PURCHASE (since usually I am 50 when i even try for BM), stupid imo, but that IS my opinion which i have a right to. I also have a right to post on the forums for devs to see so that maybe they can find some better ways to SINK comms for ppl in my position... If not gear, fine but im asking for SOMETHING productive I can use these comms for so I dont feel like i am putting so many to waste... everyone plays their own way dude, yours is not the ONLY WAY even if it is the more Hardcore way to do things... i simply started pvp late bc i decided to try something new to myself
  13. Hi, I currently have a lvl 48 scoundrel that i have completed my story and am pvping to 50, mostly because im trying to up my valor so it is not quite a grind to WH. However, I do not care for the two way restriction on BM gear mixed with the comm cap of 2k. Currently my equipped gear is FAR better than the lvl 40 pvp gear in both looks and stats. I have almost 1900 WZ comms but am only valor 29. I WANT to purchase my BM gear so I have some pieces by the time i hit 50, but not only do you have to be 50 to equip, you have to be 50 to purchase.... what am I to do with 2 lvls worth of comms that for all my hard work are going to go to waste since i can only get 100 more before i reach cap. I do not purchase the boxes from pvp vendor because it is all lvl 40ish greens and my gear is better, i cannot exchange for RWZ comms cus u have to be valor rank 40. It seems to me ridiculous to have a requirement to be 50 just to purchase the item... nothing in the process changes when i hit 50... i still have to fight and earn comms... why cant i spend them on BM now, it makes no sense! And now i have to figure something like about 5-10k comms are gonna be wasted because im capped. I mean you can purchase some of the gear off the GTN for creds at any lvl so why cant i, if I have enough comms, purchase my BM gear at ANY time/lvl? Sorry had to get this off my chest.... I did ask in game where best to post this and was told here!

    Defense Medals

But there has to be a way to punish those whom abuse this defense.... I mean if u are the inc caller chances are u will be fighting and most likely killed but at least you are doing damage... they can award medals that way... but there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON that 5 and sometimes yes 6 people are over there "inc calling" and ALL of them should be rewarded while the other 2 or 3 ppl are actually trying to do something productive and are barely walking away with like i said 3 medals... i mean im not easy to kill but 1 does not fare well against 5 opponents

    Defense Medals

I think that either: 1) Defender medals in PvP should be removed completely, or 2) Defender medals should be obtained ONLY by killing an opponent in a area whose node your team occupies. My reasoning: It has often been my experience that not even HALF WAY through a WZ people either give up (if the other team is challenging) or you have the player that simply decides he does not want to exert him/herself (maybe they dont feel they are good enough to play the match, or maybe they are just lazy) and just sits on the node... They do this because either way they can just sit back and soak up medals and walk out with 100 comms. This is severely insulting to the people in the same match that scratch and claw for every medal they walk away with. I find it highly unfair that im out there getting grouped up on with 5 of the vs 1 or 2 of us and barely walking away with 3 medals while the other 5 people just sit there and walk away with 8 plus.... Where is the reward for having TRIED to fight back. Again, I think medals should be awarded for Killing/Healing in WZ only.... not for just standing there.... defense medals could easily be gotten by killing an opponent in defense if you are so keen having them, but NO MEDALS should be gotten for a player just sitting there and NOT contributing to the party
