  1. Man, focus absolutely wrecks almost any other class.
  2. I've just been disconnected 3 times with ping of over 30k. I'm not the only one on the server with the problem, people have experienced the same on fleet. With a ping like this you can't really contribute to anything significant. It's my birthday, please repair the server. *Puppy dog expression*
  3. It's similar to how Shia Labeouf gets laid, through shameless dedication and cynical opportunism.
  4. Pyro Powertechs? Gunnery Commandos? A 7 year old could genuinely rock face on those classes, they are mindless. It may be that this game has several easy mode classes however.
  5. I actually made a post in the red eclipse guild recruitment forum (the server this guy is from) asking which guilds on the server are the most active in PvP, after asking quite a lot in both fleets if there were PvP guilds on the server without reply. The thread was viewed 92 times, with exactly 1 reply. It was from a guy who said if I keep PvPing I'll find out for myself. No harm to the guy, I'm sure he meant well, but I've played hundreds of PvP games and consistently outperform my gear level, but finding a PvP group is easier said than done. The person who offered to group with the OP, namely Riivu, deserves credit for actually trying to help out.
  6. Lets try and keep this remotely realistic.
  7. Thanks a lot, in 1.7 we were gonna get world PvP, off rails space missions and dailies that don't drive you into a coma. Thanks to this thread, we can sit on our arse the way we do in real life. In 1.8 we'll just get chat bubbles, it'll arrive in 2014.
  8. I don't think there's any need for a full refund but it would be a good change if once you were done with old PvP gear you could trade it in for maybe a quarter or so of the comms cost of buying it. My guardian and gunslinger are now in BM that's barely better than recruit with very few comms. I'm gonna have to do a lot of grinding on them to get them competitive again.
  9. I've asked several times in both fleets but I've never had a response. I've got a 50 GS, 50 guardian, 49 marauder, 47 sage, 41 assassin, 37 commando, lowbie PT and IA and I'm pretty good with them. I'm waiting on 1.6 to get the marauder to 50 for the easy WH gear but I've seen no sign of any PvP guild advertising and PUGging is beyond frustrating. What guilds actively run frequent 1-49, 50 and ranked warzone groups?
  10. I just wanted to bump this topic to thank Pernicia for the great post and recommend the build to other people levelling sages. My sage is 44 and on Belsavis and at this point in time, normals die with a TK wave, 2 ticks of force quake then a force in balance. I usually use force quake 2nd to try and stop melee mobs running away from the pack and escaping the AE. As a specialised crowd killer this is the best build I've played in the game so far. One weakness is I don't think it handles Elite/Champ mobs as well as many other classes. Those fights can be a bit of a grind and actually a bit dangerous if it's a melee mob that does high DPS without castbars.
  11. There are a few people on this thread doubting what the op says about lag. That part is undoubtedly true, just because your server hasn't been hit as heavily as Red Eclipse doesn't mean the server didn't crash on Sunday evening. Imperial fleet was in really bad shape in the hours surrounding the crash and the mail system also stopped working due to overload. Having said that I strongly disagree with segregating the F2P players. The extra population is welcome, but Bioware need to either upgrade the servers or adjust it's server population expectations. On Sunday the F2P changes impeded subscribers even being able to log in, that needs to change.
  12. What? Because not every server became available for transfers at once, that's going to make you cancel your sub? That is pretty crazy sir.
  13. The best videogame representation of lightsabers was in Jedi outcast and the sequel Jedi academy. When you used the saberrealisticcombat code in the console lightsabers became, if not one hit kill then 2 or 3 at the very most. You had to be very good and very careful in the lightsaber duels to win reliably, especially against >1 opponent. When your hit killed the opponent the collision detection was good enough to tell which body part you hit and dismember it appropriately. It was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had and to be honest I might have grown tired of the SW universe if it wasn't for that and KotOR. Unbelievably jedi outcast is now 10 years old, it's such a waste that the series was abandoned. It would make this game so much more visceral even if the current slow paced combat was intact, if certain attacks that killed your opponent could dismember them. How about the basic saber strike, it would give you an extra incentive to use your cruddiest attack when you want to end a fight stylishly. It will never happen of course, too many young kids play the game.
