  1. MMO 101 would say that transfers will be free to a selection of servers of target low/medium pop servers in the hope of turning them into heavy. I dont see the option of moving to any high pop servers in the inital migrations. Once it all settled and paid for transfer are online similar ot WoW I oculd see the option of moving ot higer pop servers. I just hope that the toons I have on multiple servers (rerolled on Bioware advice due to queues ) will be able to move to the same home. They shold also offer migrations in order of account activations. Headstarters who were hit hardest by the queues and rerolling should be in the first wave and so on. However being Bioware and the fact that they launched with no charactor transfer facility at all, I don't hold even the slightest hope that this will turn out well.
  2. Played quite a few MMO's over the years including vanilla WoW and I have to agree that compared to them there is not that much to complain about except the huge massive super mess that is server populations. The bugs listed are annoying and some have been serious but the server pop is / has killed the game.
  3. I logged on last night for the first time in a week or two and my fellow guildie (note singular) commented "Oh other people are still playing then" insert sad face It really made me feel hacked off with Bioware for killing off what is an amazing MMO. Not having a facility to transfer charactors easily in MMO 101 these days. To make matters worse the 25% in my view is a lie as I think they included accounts with play time active. Even if it's not the 20 or so people that I know who purchased SWTOR are all about ot play D3 and GW2, except about 2 of them.:mad:
  4. I love the voice acting, it adds soooo much more to the story. Key parts of the game for me were made better for watching and listening in steading of having to read. One bad side though is has stopped me from playing Skyrim. It set the bar so high that after hearing the same voice actors all the time for different charactors I get bored and quit
  5. I have about 30 days left now, unsubbed over a week ago though once the extra 30 days were added. I really want SWTOR to do well but it has game destorying issues... My server is dead Its hard / impossible to group for content Due to low population PvP queues are looong Crafting is non existant Im bored now I got to 50, and due to dead server I CBA to level an alt Server transfers / migrations etc would fix most of my problems, shame it all happened too late. As others have said I wil check on how it goes for SWTOR as I can always fire up the account again. However with Tera, Diablo and GW2 all out / out in the next few months it looks bad
  6. I quit after the first 30 days (was from release) and came back 1 week before 1.2. The difference in server pop is huge, in a bad way. I had a mid level 30's Sith War, which I go to 50 just before the free 30 day offer. I would expect to see a lot of players taking advantage of the offer and getting a toon to 50. Instead I would see 5 to 6 players on a planet max. In all the time I spent getting to 50 from 30 something I must have only seen about 10 different players outside of fleet. Its runined the while game even at 50. No viable grouping, pvp, econmony or fun And I CBA to level the same toon again on a diff server.
  7. Summer is too late for me, it has taken far too long to get this sorted - All I want are my toons in once place IIRC WoW didn't have this issue as bad as they limited the number of copies available to reduce spikes in pop. I think there were two or three batches over a few months, this kept the number high and replaced 30 day non subbers with new retail purchasers. Shame BW could not do a similer tihng
  8. No charactor transfer was one of the reasons I have stopped my subs and quit playing. Don't get me wrong the game is amazing (played open beta and from around 14th of Dec). It was just that being first in we got hit hardest with server population explotions. I ended up having to reroll about mid 20's to a new server. I just can't be bothered to level the same exact toon again. Once char transfer (paid or free) comes in I expect I will resub
  9. Read my post a few back - 2 days ago I could not post as my subs ran out but now I can
  10. However two days ago I could not - I tried and thats how I kneow my subs were out, it even told me that becuase I had no subs I could not post. Looks like something has changed?
  11. See you hit the nail right on the head there trying to be clever. In the US you dont have to find any to do because it is off peak but in the EU we do as it is the middle of day.
  12. I did as it shows a lack or respect to the customer base. If you pay subs then the basic requirement of that paid should for service is that it is up during peak time hours. TBH I wouldnt mind if the US got a patch a day early to make it easier and allow fully out of hours work - I should imagine Tues and Wed morning a both quite quiet.
  13. Really it should happen at the same local time for all zones or stagger over the days so Tues is NA and Wed is EU. Having extended scheduled maintenance in the EU starting at 8AM is not aceptable these days. I work in the IT field and deal with data centres, if I want to do major work there is no way I could start at 8AM, more over they would insist everything is back up by 8AM. However is Bioware came back with population stats that show 8AM > 4PM on a Tuesday is quieter than 3AM > 11AM on Tuesday I will happily eat my words
  14. I think the 1.1 patch has a fix for quests you cannot abandon - got quite a few myself
