  1. I looked and cannot find this already reported. On live, when you push the "I" button on your keyboard, the inventory window comes up. When you press it again, the inventory window closes. On PTS, when you hit "I", the inventory window opens, but when you press the button again, it does not close the window. I had to click the little "x" in the upper right hand side of the window to close it. P.S. not UI related, but it would not allow me to put a weapon into the outfitter,
  2. Just watched the video that confirmed the free character transfers, but there wasn't much info on it. If someone knows a thread with more detailed info on it, that would be great. If not, then there are a few questions that I have. 1. Are they indeed free transfers to ANY server you want? 2. If you transfer to a server where you already have a toon with legacy unlocked, does the new toon become part of that legacy? 3. If you transfer to a new server where you have no toons or legacy, do you start at legacy 1 even if you had a high legacy level before you transfered? 4. Is there a way to transfer your entire legacy from one server to another? This includes all your characters and the legacy level/perks, etc ... As much credits as we are sinking into legacy stuff now and the new inheratance gear, I think these are valid questions.
  3. Orange gear will have the best stats in the game IF you take the mods out the BEST gear to put in them and add the BEST augments you can find. Obviously, you can't get optimal stats from columi or rakata mods because those are not the optimal gear.
  4. This is such a great idea. Closest thing to addons we have gotten so far .... lol.
  5. Items like this are the only in-game items that I would support being added as micro transactions. I bought the Celestial Steed that you referred to above. I loved it. It didn't do anything that any other readily availible in-game mount didn't do. It was just a cool looking thing that I thought was worth paying an extra $25 for. What I will not support is them offering tier gear or special stims that are better than the biochem ones but you can only get them from buying them from a store. Basically, anything in a micro transaction cannot have any effect on gameplay. It can't help your stats, make your cooldowns shorter, etc ....
  6. When I read the thread title, Cash Shops, I thought what a lot of people probably thought. That you wanted the stuff you pay for like in F2P games that directly have an impact on game play like items and abilities. What your talking about is like the paid character services in WOW. Thing like character transfers, renaming your toon, faction changes, etc ... I do feel that these services should have a small fee associated with them. Take character transfers for instance. If it were free to transfer a toon anywhere, then people would be transfering toons like crazy. The character recustomization should have a fee associated as well. It makes character creation mean a little more if it is more permanent. If you have to pay a fee to recustomize your character, then you will take more time to make good choices when you are first creating your character. Paid services are not BW "shooting themselves in the foot" as someone said earlier in this thread. The key is that the services that are paid CANNOT be anything that has any effect on gameplay. A server transfer has no effect on how your toon performs in the game. Changing your character's name, sex, or appearance has no effect on gameplay. Selling high end epic drop items or BoE item would have an effect on gameplay. See the difference?
  7. This should go into the suggestions area of the forums. It is a great idea. Put mod stations in only one place (somewhere that people don't normally hang out). Then remove the cost of removing mods when you use a mod station. That way people will only bother using it when the cost of removing the mods is very high (like removing mods from Rakata gear or something). You can use this as a perk for the legacy system too. Make a mod station unlockable for your ship at XX legacy level or for an obscene amount of credits. BW is all about the Legacy stuff right?
  8. There is a reason there were that many people on Korriban. EVERYONE had to start their toon from scratch. I bet there weren't that many people testing the new FP, Ops, warzone, or playing around with the legacy system. I bet there weren't that many people doing all of those things combined!!! I hope that after this patch get out and bugs get worked out, they will take a couple devs and have them implement the character copy / premade system like WOW has. We have toons that we already leveled on live. Most of us don't want to level the same class again to test out upcomming content. I assure you that there would be a lot more people testing on the PTS if character copy / premade were implemented. More people testing = larger sampling of data for the devs to judge how the content will hold up. It also gives them a better chance of discovering bugs and tuning issues with new content.
  9. I can understand why the original poster would like this server wide general chat feature. In a perfect world (one where everyone behaves and no one trolls or acts like a retard) I would be all for it too. But this is not a perfect world. Lets pretend for a second that it is a perfect world, and no trolls or idiots would be on general chat acting like morons. Here you are running missions on Corellia like a madman trying to get that last 300k XP to get your BH to level 50. You look up in General chat and see this: 1: [General][XXXXX] LFG Armed and Dangerous 1: [General][XXXXX] LFG Saving Face and Hadra's Defeat 1: [General][XXXXX] LFG Insufficient Staff ETC ... ETC ... ETC ... You are gonna be bombed by people talking about stuff that you really don't wanna read.
  10. If you are talking about REing a high end piece of raid gear, it better be 100%. Can you imagine REing a high level purple and getting nothing but some scavenging or archeology mats? You're gonna have some pissed off players. In WOW, disenchanting a purple was 100% chance to get the high end stuff. That is because it is so hard to get (or used to be) those items that it really wasn't practical to have to DE many of them to get what you need. If this is their solution, they at least need to make it 100% chance to get the schematic for the orange when you RE a purple.
  11. My original post is a very rough and basic idea. It is just to plant the seed into the mind of someone more creative with such things. I think the whole idea that the devs are wanting to push is the ability to make you character look the way you want and still be able to have the best stats you can get. This has been partially accomplished with the role orange gear is going to play in 1.2. They just forgot that many people like the way that the raid gear looks. This system is going to make it so that the raid gear LOOK will be passed over because you don't have the augment slot. Whether or not they go with the idea I proposed, I would still like to see a LOT more orange sets put into the game. In WOW, I would have the best gear that you could get for that patch/expansion, but I just didn't FEEL very epic when I looked like every other Paladin in Stormwind. This game has a very epic feel. The Sith Warrior story line (I won't give spoiler) made me feel like I was master of the universe. I just want them to give everyone the opportunity to feel almost like they are one-of-a-kind. After all, Vader didn't have to worry about anyone looking just like him!!!
  12. I do like this idea as well. Give the people that can't craft the orange gear or the Augments the schematic to make these like the Blacksmiths in WOW made the buckles. It would give even more viability to crafting. Great Idea!!!
  13. With the changes in 1.2, crit crafted orange gear will be superior to even the highest level of raid gear due to the augment slot. They say that they are doing this for two reasons. First, they want to make crafting a more viable part of the game. Second, they want people to be able to choose the appearance of their characters and avoid having all of the well geared players looking the same. As a long time player of WOW, that second reason is like a gift from God to me. Anyone who played the last 2 expansions of WOW knows what I am talking about. My solution is very simple. Get rid of all raid GEAR totally. Wait ... WHAT!!! Seriously. Do away with the raid gear drops. Put all the armoring/mod/enhancements that were in the gear on a vendor at the fleet. These items would take a token (kinda like the raid gear takes a token to buy now). When you would have normally gotten a gear token drop, now you would get a mod pack. This mod pack would have one each of Armoring Token, Mod Token, and Enhancement Token. You would then use these to buy whichever modifications that you want and put them into your orange gear. Each Tier of Ops would drop a new "level" or tokens. Take what we have no for example. We have Columi and Rakata. Normal mode raids drop Columi gear and HM drops Rakata gear. Imagine instead that you get a mod pack from a normal mode Ops. This pack, comming from normal mode, would give you a Columi Armoring Token when you open it along with the mod token and enhancment token. You could then buy the same mods that are in the Columi gear now. You would not be able to get the Rakata mods with them. For that, you would have to get a mod pack from a HM Ops which would give you a Rakata Token for Armoring/Mod/Enh. This is just an example for an illustration. Now, the devs that are in charge of designing new gear take all the time and energy that they put into designing raid gear skins and design more orange gear. They would be able to give us a lot more appearance options. You would have an easier time finding a unique look for your toon. The best part is that you do not have to sacrifice any stats to look the way you want. As it stands now, having raid gear and orange gear with orange being superior, if you like the look of that raid gear, you can't wear it if you want to get the absolute best stats. TL;DR - Get rid of traditional raid gear loot drops. Let tokens for raid level modifications drop from raid instead. Focus all that dev time spend designing raid gear on designing a lot of new orange gear looks.
  14. A simpler way to put it is this. Level a Sith Pureblood to 50 = now I can create a Sith Pureblood for any class/faction. Next I make a Cyborg and level to 50 = now I can make a cyborg for any class/faction. Make sense?
  15. Malavai Quinn at the end of chapter 2 of the class story line. I won't give anything away. Anyone that has played a Sith Warrior past the 2nd chapter knows EXACTLY what I am talking about.
