A Tale of Two Games: ToR and WoW - Review!

infact you can expand that vastly...why the hell do people like Call of duty..its just quake with better grafics and very few innovations. Why the hell do people like starcraft its just DUNE 2 with better grafics. Games are genre based...memorpeges are based on Everquest which is losely based on ultima online...i do agree Vaegaknight..find something new to complain about, and i still say that this game has done just about everything better than wow. If i had to kill 100 boars here to get 2 boar tusks..I know bioware would make me feel epic while doing it! -
What percentage of users will cancel their 1st months sub?
Kraniumbrud replied to Scan's topic in General Discussion
less than 5% most people i think are generally satisfied with the game -
its a good question...i would say no..you CAN ,level very fast if you want..but leveling does slow down quite abit around the 30's, and I did the entire tatooine (or atleast all quests i could find) and only got like 6 levels in total. I dont think that is too much. I do appriciate however that if you want to grind to 50 fast you can, some people enjoys the epicness of the operations and heroic flashpoinsts and they have a easier time getting to 50 than in many other memorpeges, and some people like myself want to sit and enjoy the great stories over and over again.

yea ive noticed that aswell...curius how there are allways people complaining...could it be that statistically when you get into the million subscribers, there will be people not satisfied...time will tell if we all leave in the next 6 days..cause after all six days is a long time in a mmo..after all most mmo's have almost solved thier constant crashes in the first six days. *hands out cookies* -
there are many cathar.....a class has one as a companion as i believe. If you speak of races..then wow...give it time new races will be added im sure

Imprssed with the lack of game breaking Bugs!
Kraniumbrud replied to Kraniumbrud's topic in General Discussion
honerstly..im just amazed the game dosnt have to reset every 2 hours like all other mmo's do when they launch new stuff. Ive played the game to a level 30 sith warrior with no problems other than 1 bonus mission that i cant abandon..thats it..and ive pvp'ed flash pointed and normal leveling -

Ive played, Vanguard, WOW, DAoC, Everquest 2 from launch ...all of them had very serius crashes all the time at launch..the worst ive experienced here is a 35 min wait ona heavily populated server. And Frankly i think this has been a very smooth launch ive seen no evidence that tells me anything else, some minor bugs sure, but are we seriusly saying that a bugged guild list and commedations in the wrong item bag is game breaking stuff? this is very minor ingame stuff, game breaking stuff is massive fallign through the world, chars logging in dead forever, uable to respawn bugs, crashings of servers, lag beyond comprehension (and i mean 10k+ Latency), within the first week..you cant expect anything from a mmo..and I think we got a very playable game, ive so far had nothing that halted my progression or overall enjoyment of the game -

Kraniumbrud replied to Kraniumbrud's topic in General Discussion
both have worked perfectly for me! and by far it does not constitute game breaking stuff..just be thankfull the game isnt crashing 24/7 for the first month for unannounced patches that they say takes two hours but ends up taking 20 -
Just wanted to express my admiration that the game isnt utterly broken at launch, i do believe it is a first for MMO's and as such you deserve a medal!..and a cookie..though my dog at the cookie.. ...okey I admit it I ate the cookie..but still...awsome job! Its fun and playable..

..and this is a post from wow's homepage about cataclysm *cough cough* sound familiar?...wow is still bugged when they launch stuff MMO's are per definition bugged. its jsut too complex a mashine, so please...give it abit more than 6 days before you scream bloody murder and fly a cesna into Biowares HQ..and you cant shut up...well go paly another game, and dont pay for something you dont like...cause that makes you a idiot and you dont want to look like a idiot

Digital deluxe a !@#$ing ripoff, and yes I'm mad

Hahahaha way too funny post, i seriusly hope this is a joke post or he will spend alot of times returnign games to the store for not meeting his expectations 100% -
oh....I just had to comment on this one...yes we CONSTANTLY compare new games to old games...just look at the stragegy genre, where Starcraft one has been the benchmark for all other stragegy games for age...and it is still held up as the shining example of RTS's. Same goes for Quake to begin with, then counter strike in FPS's. Oh...and wow...because apart from you, everyone else seem to think wow is the benchmark..well i can say this for sure, SWTOR is near perfect compared to wow at its launch, and to say it dosnt have merit on a 7 year old game..well it goes against the entire gaming review industry. -I just love how so many is protecting WOW by critising this game for having the same errors, then defending wow again because it was a long time ago it had those errors. Seriusly..if you have a problem go back to grinding pelts of boars that have a 1 in 100 drop chance, when you have done that, start collecting eyes of murlocks...then when you have grinded for 6 years strait and done the same thing over and over..for hours on end, to get a loot that is replaced two months later in a new raid...then explain to me again..please explain to me why WOW is even remotely comparable to what ive experienced as a thrilling story you can share with you friends, a emmersive story that captivated atleast me... The differnece between WOW and SWTOR...SWTOR, even with the bugs it has..dosnt feel like a second lousy job...you have to pay for. All you wow fans...lean back in your chair and ask yourself..what have you actually gotten out of wow other than a feeling of superiority from getting a new purple loot that you paid 15$ a month for. Atleast in swtor you get a purple loot, and a good story and i prefer a good story to the slow self decay of the grinds of wow any day. though some of the idiots on this forum, whom i certainly hope is getting paid by Activision/blizzard, do provide excelent entertainment aswell.
