  1. This is an ongoing problem dating as far back as at least December 2014. We've seen no movement whatsoever on the part of the development team, not even acknowledgement of the issue. Kindly requesting that to celebrate the third year of the galaxy-wide ban on black hair, the devs please fix/change Hair Colour #10 to black rather than the current off-green.
  2. This is maybe the..third or fourth time this has happened since I started playing about a year ago. Previously I'd overwrite the installation with a backup copy of the game kept on a portable hard drive, but I've just learned it's corrupted, so I've come here for help. Because the customer support sub is read only. For some reason. I haven't touched any part of the game files. I did the usual turning off BitRaider in the launcher settings, deleting the BitRaider folder and re-starting the game, to no avail. As far as I know, all the files are there, at least there's 40GB or so. Yet starting the game begins downloading from scratch and tells me I don't even have the minimum downloaded required to start the game, let alone access to the full game. I've trawled through Google results for hours looking for a fix without luck. I've only re-subbed recently after some time off, really keen to play again so I'd really like to get this working as there isn't much point in maintaining my sub if I can't play the game. Not the first time this has happened, but the Bitraider fix used to sort it out. EDIT: I should add the game was working fine yesterday with no problems at all. I've made no changes to the SWTOR files, or any other files/programs on my PC. EDIT II: Re-downloading the game is out of the question. I have limited bandwidth and patience, especially if the issue can reoccur at random. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. My game stopped working for some unknown reason amongst the many reasons SWTOR seems to screw up for a lot of people. The play button would light up orange but would not do anything when clicked. After trying several possible fixes with no success, including the BitRaider fixes and the IP Address fix, I decided to try re-installing. Of course, the installer provided on swtor.com is the one from 2011 or something, and it has to update the launcher. Fair enough. Except that it's now stuck on "Launcher is being updated. Please wait." This is a brand new, clean install. http://oi68.tinypic.com/ixgjle.jpg Tried re-starting the launcher, re-starting the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting the internet, etc. to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I posted here because I can't seem to find a tech support subforum.
  4. As the title says, the cyborg construct series of headgear removes Zabrak horns.
  5. As the title says. It's a 2h staff you get very early in the Sith Inquisitor storyline, while still on Korriban. The weapon doesn't appear on your character's back when sheathed. I've tried changing armour to see if that was affecting it somehow but it seems to be a persistent bug.
  6. Updating my driver, installing that DirectX package you linked and deleting the bitraider folder worked, the game runs perfectly now. Thanks for all the help and patience
  7. I located the problem, some pretty bad malware in my sysWOW34 folder that disguised itself as system files, preventing me from deleting it or removing it via virus scanner. I did a factory reset on my PC and reinstalled SWTOR, and now the launcher starts, but now pressing play doesn't start the game. Just ran a dxdiag in case it could be of any use. https://hastebin.com/susalosiba.tex
  8. Ok, will try these options. I have a backup of SWTOR on an external hard drive and I'm having the same issue when I try to launch from there, so it's almost definitely something blocking SWTOR's connection as you said, rather than a problem with the game files.
  9. I'm going to have Windows Defender do a full pc scan too just in case.
  10. Ok, I'll try that. Despite creating the patch folder when I run the launcher, it doesn't put anything in it, so I guess (like you said) it's being prevented from downloading files.
  11. Tried that, starting the launcher still doesn't do anything except create the patch folder again.
  12. Yep, restarted multiple times since removing AVG. I have just added the entire SWTOR game directory to the exceptions list in Windows Defender, and SWTOR was already listed as an exception in Windows Firewall. No change so far.
  13. This is the most recent log and seems to be the last time it launched successfully. Because it isn't even opening now, I don't think it's even creating new logs.
