  1. a pvp stat is fine, the way games have been handleing it recently is not, an entry level set that gives a good amount of said stat should be extremely easy to obtain, and the sets after that should barely, actually not increase the pvp stat from there. the problem with the current system is that as the pvp tiers keep coming out it becomes more and more of a grind to unlock the best set of a gear which is required to compete, can you imagine when you get to the point where you need valor rank 80/90 to equip the current top gear? that will be months of grind for any new player same problem rift has, same probably warhammer had, same problem aoc currently has. if the pvp stat was always the same number if you were fully geared and the new tiers of gear increasing just the str and endurance ect. stats, one of the reasons i hate themepark mmos is the fact that they're gear dependent when it comes to pvp. and the problem of gear is only increased more the terrible RNG bag system that the game currently uses, some get geared out before even hitting valor level 40, others others like my self end up with 6 gloves, 4 pants and 4 main hand sabers.
  2. why would they do that? they want crafting to be completely useless i thought that was obvious by now.
  3. the game its self probably has had no more then 90m spent on it, but the advertising, servers, customer service all adds up pretty fast, while i still don't think its anywhere near 500m i wouldn't doubt that its pretty close especially if they have it all already set up and ready to go for a year or more, i remember a few years ago people analyzing that wows upkeep cost was around 200 million a year.
  4. this is what happens when you put people who have proven to be failures in the mmorpg industry, sure they did good things with daoc, but that was what 11 years ago now? i think old age has taken their brains and the only thing keeping them in the industry is the fact that actually i honestly don't know how they have jobs still, i do hope they lose them though and never work in game development again, they need to make room for new talent.
  5. can't really compare them sorry, swtor is a themepark as in you get on the ride and that's it you're strapped in and cant do much when it comes to changing parts of the ride to your liking, swg how ever is a sandbox where you get to for the most part build your own roller coaster and rides. for me personally i would have to say swtor for playing solo, swg any day of the week for being a mmo, i am very biased though since i typically hate everything about a themepark style mmo and find sandbox to be the most enjoyable part of the mmo industry, i will without a doubt a few months down the road be unsubed from swtor and probably playing SWG(emu), eve and darkfall like usual.

    Too easy..

sentinel/marauder but even then its not that hard nor bad, you just have to rely on cooldowns, however when said cooldowns are up you have to be pretty bad to lose a 1v1, if they are down that's when the real challenge comes in and you will lose against pretty much any class even if the player behind the class isn't that great of a player overall.
  7. cant believe anyone actually expected a good pvp system with the guys behind warhammer leading the pvp development, oh well at least its better then renown eh?
  8. iron citadel is pretty balanced, a few more empire then republic of course but its without a doubt more balanced then most servers are.
  9. darkfall and daoc without even the slightest of doubt. i would say darkfall pvp is better then daoc for me personally though.
  10. pretty sure he wasn't referring to a lack of hoods, more so the quite opposite of almost every piece of jedi armor you get has a hood, or if you're a twi'lek like my self then there isn't a single piece of armor in the game that has a hood. really really really hope to see a toggle feature extremely soon, i could have sworn they said the feature would make it in by launch on the old forums, maybe not and my brain is just making it up, but i still remember the post.
  11. as the above poster said hoods are down permanently for twi'leks, hopefully we will get a option up/down for them in the future with how much it has been requested on the forums, seeing as they disabled hoods for twi'leks i don't think they would have to much of an issue with making it an option you can toggle off/on like helmets.
  12. never planned on sticking to the game for pvp, it was obvious it was going to suck, not only that but i dislike battlegrounds/warfronts and prefer open world pvp which swtor has little of, ill keep playing darkfall as my pvp mmorpg and swtor when i feel in the mood for a rpg, simple as that.
  13. i say go for it, i just decided to stop playing as watchman (i hate watchman with a passion) and 30-ish is when the spec actually starts being able to actually compete 100% crit bladestorm is very nice 43+ is when in my opinion it becomes the best pvp spec, but at 30 it really does become viable for both pvp and leveling, watchman is still a bit ahead i think and focus probably pulls ahead a bit to but it really doesn't matter since the difference is pretty miniscule at this point in the game.
  14. the biggest problem is the fact that all the dps do about the same damage so its balanced BUT when you bring into account the fact that we are melee while other classes are ranged that's how you come to the conclusion that we are underpowered, we either need more gap closers or a bit more damage to compete, range having the same damage, more cc ect and being able to still dps even if they are in melee range is a pretty large problem personally i think were in a pretty good state, sents are easily one of the best 1v1 AC's and were still viable and useful for group pvp you just have to work a bit harder, are we underpowered? yes of course we are you really can't argue that we aren't just to be on par with other classes we have to put in 2x the work, but is it really as big of a problem that everyone complaining is making it out to be? i don't think so, i rarely lose a 1v1 in open world pvp and i top charts in both damage and objective scores in structured pvp.
