For me it isn't the downtime as much as the timing. Do the main patch Sunday nights and an additional through the week. If you have to. Right now you are murdering European players and those of us stateside who don't have weekends off.

Word. But to answer the OP the grinding, crappy, tiresome, non emersive nature of anything before endgame. The manga influenced toons. The frustrating nature of PvP (on my server I went 127 Arathi Basin matches once without an Alliance win...try that on for tiresome). And finally, pandas.

Upgrade your graphics card. A solid to high end 500 generation nVidia card should do it. I installed a low end 500 level card in my system and it did wonders. But my processor and memory rate higher than yours so thats why I suggest a higher level card. I can run medium settings basically everywhere with little lag or disruption.

...I've tried the three starting runs 37 times now and and for 31 of those I've gotten them down to 1 of whatever needed and thats it. That includes the escort deal where nothing hits the ship and it explodes and the only way I could do better would be to hit the incoming ships while coming in behind me. A bit puzzled here. Not sure what to do.

Got a level 16 Sith Marauder and a level 12 Smuggler Gunslinger. Concentrating on the Sith though I started the Smuggler first. I lean more toward the Marauder because of playing melee in WoW and on top of that, there are a lot more FPS issues with the Smuggler. Not a clue why.

Yes, I think WoW will be the best fantasy MMO and SWTOR will be the best sci fi MMO. And they really don't feel like the same sort of game at all. WoW is very much grinding, which isn't a criticism only an observation, while SWTIR is much, much more story driven. I also think the choice factor coupled with the light side/dark side condition said choices create in characters further differentiates SWTOR from WoW.

I agree with the OP. Especially for early end stuff, SWTOR kills WoW and everything else I'm aware of. Great writing, great overall story (mainly a Sith Warrior), ridiculously good voice acting, superb graphics (so tired of the manga leaning WoW) and a very complex and interesting in game crafting and gathering system. Lovely work Bioware!!!

Between my 2 characters I've probably made over 4000 credits using it so far. People are buying what I'm putting on, from grean armor and weapons to blue mods.
