  1. Just for background's sake, I've played this game since Beta, Collector's Edition, and GSF since it's inception. I have dueled with Drakolich on Bastion for years and we have had a blast playing against eachother.... I play nothing but strikes.... I have mastered all of my strike fighters, but I normally play Pike/Clarion because as someone said earlier in the thread, strikes aren't really meant in their current inception to be solo superwarriors. They are game managers, multi-role ships which can assist other ships in several different ways. Strikes are DESIGNED to not be specialist glass cannons or snipers... They are designed to mix it up with everything out there. But the thing I would like to point out is that everyone here so far has been saying strikes can't do damage or are worthless against the other ship types.... so I submit the following: It is not on the class of ship so much as it is the skill of the pilot and knowing what equipment he has, his missiles, cannons, abilities, and most importantly, the co-pilot. I fly a pike with Rusk because he gives me faster secondary reload times, and his ability is a DoT if I hit an enemy ship with lasers.... this allows me to reach out and touch people much faster and if they decide to run, give them a going away present that may/may not kill them. If you wanted to buff Strike fighters, I would say give them an increase in missile range or missile lock-on time. For the range buff, it has to be measured to each type of missile (my proton torps hit at 11km, my concussion missiles at 7.5km) so they don't become so powerful that I can snipe a gunship with proton torps and he can't nail me. it has to be competitive and fun/challenging...
  2. Ahh, but since they were created before the internet, doesn't that mean they were "online" for their time period? Just trying to be funny and make someone laugh during these dark times....
  3. Oh ye of little faith: MMORPGs have been around a lot longer than that... try since the 1970s... they were played on tables and used dice and dungeon masters to play....
  4. You forgot Strike Fighters... A Decent pilot with a Pike or a Clarion can decimate bombers easily, especially if they have max upgraded secondary weps like Concussion Missiles and Proton Torps.... Just saying..
  5. There are two types of shields: 1. Deflector Shields: These are the most standard shields also known as "ray shields", as they are for energy weapons. Physical weapons can bypass these types of shields and hit their targets. 2. Concussion Field Generators: These are your standard Anti-Gravity, Mass deflection shields. The Millennium Falcon had both types, but as someone mentioned earlier, most ships don't equip both as the power draws are immense.
  6. Hey everyone, I was just wondering about whether we might be able to choose a different starship in the upcoming expansion, since we are supposedly going to get the opportunity to recruit other classes' companions to our cause. Might we see the opportunity to craft different types of ships or choose one during the storyline? I don't know how big they would be, but it would be awesome to have the choice of what ship I was flying in.
  7. In my humble opinion, Strike Fighters are, as a class, needing a major rework of their laser systems, a Pike has several decent choices for missile weapons and, if used effectively, is quite dangerous. The problem is they don't become viable until you max upgrade the missiles or guns.... Clarions have very nice team assist tools in their boxes, and serve kinda as a team support/command role. But your basic Strike Fighters have two different gun sets that aren't worth much compared to other ship classes... Compare the DPS between all the laser types. Rapid Fire lasers on a scout do more damage than quad lasers on a Strike Fighter for the same distance, have a higher RPM, and consume less energy per shot.... This i think is where the problem lies... Re-work the other ship lasers so as to make a strike's punch more, or boost the strike fighters laser DPS and range to make it more effective. Just my 2 cents
  8. Thanks guys, it really does. Looks like im gonna make another trooper.
  9. So i need to make a commando then to get a ranged character?
  10. Greetings everyone, If there is already a post on this topic, I apologize, I did a thorough search over the last few days before deciding to post this. I have a vangaurd and I am trying to get out of the whole melee thing and get to a mid or long ranged fighter, similar to a sniper, i think. However, all I have played before are the jedi and I need your help. If anyone has a talent tree spec / rotation already built, I really REALLY could use your advice. Thanks in advance.
  11. Don't feel bad kid, I know people your age who are more mature then some of my men. I am 27 in the military (army), about 5' 6" with a baby face. You get all kinds of jokes and pranksters in the CAV, believe u me.
  12. Lancell Horn, of the Horn Legacy Someone else already has "Corran" as a 1st name.... ><
  13. Has anyone seen a change after maintenance today? Do we know when the next patch/fix for this is going to come out? Any info updates would be appreciated.
